They usually were kinda proud people know kpop but overall treated it as most Westerners treated Bieber in his Baby era - aka something only crazy 13yo listen to. Imho I don't think it's so offensive to was even worth of mentioning. He just sounds silly and attention seeking. Like... If you don't like him, ignore him. It's the best you can do.

Yes, but neither Hollywood had balls to show organizations who murdered innocent civilians as rightful and just and full of good people in (lets say goodhearted Nazi's still proudly doing Nazi work or good hearted agents of communist party in Europe still doing their job, kindhearted terrorists from 9.11). And if they did, people would flip tables as much as they did in Korea. Didn't people want even Gone with the wind banned for romanticising of slavers? And it was movie reflecting era (in which it was made) when racism wasn't as talked as today and main lead isn't even showed as just but rather and spoiled b*tch.

Honestly I think you missed the point. People aren't expecting documentary out of it. But... Once you write story and use real events and people as background, you cannot do 100% what you want to. You need to fit the story into the era without twisting the era upside down. Especially if people still remember and the said era took lives of many... Imho if the female lead was hiding some petty criminal (or even better, someone who was just accused of being a criminal) hunted down by normal police, noone would say a word.

IU dating almost half of the list. People are really thirsty to see the girl dating. That's showing how much relevant she is considering her position of senior female singer who is even way past her idol era. If they actually released IU and GD, I think the balance between Army and Blinks would go to hell once again since most people were like "Jennie is dating GD though" during the instagram follow fiasco.

Irene isn't really good dancer either even though she is better then Karina. Karina is obviously better singer then Irene and has more interesting vocal color. Karina has more value then Irene in this project, cause she is future of SM as an idol. While Irene is already entering the era when she has more value as an actress. While Wendy and/or Seulgi still need the push to be valuable as future soloist. Hyoyeon has mostly music career in front of her but wouldn't say the most successful so it's another gig to give her job without investing much into her specifically. Taeyeon and BoA's presence cannot be even questioned. And Winter is like the most popular member of Aespa and good vocalist. So nope... No place for Irene. If someone I would swap Winter and Ning Ning to complete the main dancer and main vocal combo in their respective groups lol. But I can totally understand Why Winter is there. Karina sucks as main dancer but honestly it's SMs fault for deciding to debut heavily dance oriented group without anyone capable of dancing. ------ For me the most important is what song will they pick tbh. The line up is solid. But I seriously want banger without Kwangya and lyrics making as much sense as English lines in classic kpop songs from first and second gen. Which based on the teaser I won't get. It looks like they are fully going for Aespa concept tbh. Which is seriously hit or miss for me with Savage and Dreams come true remake being 200% misses.

The teaser haven't showed much but I'm still happy. Don't see the WeMe vibe though. But I guess its just because I was never into them tbh.

I know many cases where people were in long term relationship basically just out of habit while love disappeared long ago and there was no future in prolonging it. Usually after break up both parties got into new happier relationships and got married pretty quickly. I guess this is the same case.

From my understanding (I'm not Korean so I might be wrong and most likely oversimplify the issue) during that time people fighting for democracy were tortured and murdered by NSP under fake premise of hiding North Korean spies (there were none, they were just trying to get rid of the movement). The drama is supposed to be focused on girl (who was supposed to be named after one of the activists who were tortured) hiding North Korean spy and posing him as fellow pro democracy activist. Which basically turn the fake premise into reality and gives the NSP "good reason" for torturing and murdering innocent people. Also member of NSP (the organisation who tortured and murdered civilians) being showed as just and rightful person isn't sitting well with people who still remember this era clearly since it's not that long ago. Several other significant acts were supposedly twisted like this for the drama. Theme songs of the movement playing in totally wrong moments twisting its whole purpose etc. Imho if they wanted to show paradoxes of good people in groups of bad people etc as they said, they should have used no name fictional country, not put it into one of most important moments in Korean history and use real events and real national heroes to build fictional storyline with potential to twist some major events. Once you use real events, it's never purely work of fiction. Just imagine as if someone made drama with BLM movement protests used as background while glorifying police forces and showing black people as actual criminals. Or if someone actually shooted blockbuster movie for whole world to see based on conspiracy theories like American army paid by certain rich people planting covid all over the world and posing them as facts or another bs. People would flip tables as well. And they would do it rightfully.

Wish him fast full recovery and mild symptoms only at worst scenario. Covid is a b*tch. Oh my... I wish it was the case. I really wish for covid free world again.

The premise isn't bad (aka the group of bad people having their stories/reasoning and some good people inside doing bad things because their own reasons and beliefs) but if they wanted to go with it, they should have place it in fictional country with fictional background as western movies with theme this controversial usually do. Not into one of Korea's most important history moments and even use real people and events to model characters around them. I totally get why Korean's would be mad about it. Every nation has its dark moments and honestly in similar scenario every nation would react in similar way. But honestly it's sad to read comments of some intl fans be it on twitter or platforms like Allkpop etc.

Two live encores aren't really showing much. Maybe they should have switched to concepts showing their vocals and actually sing. But let's be honest right now with their current concept their performances aren't worth watching or replaying (there is no singing and dancing and stage presence is weak) as you usually expect for kpop groups, especially leaders of a generation. Yeah, they can chart well but charting isn't the same as quality product. They honestly are one of the few groups whose concepts burry their strenghts and highlight their weaknesses. Hope SM can improve their promos (songs, choreos, performances) to match the group abilities more since now it's kinda as if Twice decided to promote Davichi style .

Maybe its because outside of Aespa's early teen fans most people are too grown up for this Kwangya .

They can sing and their vocal colors are nice but don't they usually lip sync either way so their abilities aren't showing much during performances ...

Love vocals of Aespa, but whoever rearranged the song did awful job. It totally butchered it. Dreams come true are my most favourite SES song and outside of like 20seconds of original melody I wouldn't even guess this is supposed to be same song.
