[PC][enter-talk] KOREAN IDOLS RANKING FROM SURVEY WITH THE JAPANESE STUDENTS
abra replied to Aegyo's topic in Netizen Nation
KARA and SNSD had big hits and were very popular and famous during their peak, more so than any boy group. SHINee's fandom was stronger and they could hold more dome concerts but they were not as well known among the public. It's likely that SHINee still has a bigger, more devoted harcore fandbase in Japan but more people know SNSD/KARA due to their hits and appearing on TV shows, being referenced etc frequently during their peak. KARA, SNSD, TWICE and Niziu are the only girl groups that have had a recognition similar to the top Japanese girl groups in Japan. SHINee, while popular, are a tier below in recognition. I don't know much about Jaejoong but it is a similar situation. -
[PC][enter-talk] KOREAN IDOLS RANKING FROM SURVEY WITH THE JAPANESE STUDENTS

I expected the top 4 but I'm surprised that Blackpink aren't on the list. They were big a couple years ago but their hiatus must have taken a toll. I'm sure they will go up once they have their next comeback. Maybe BoA and TVXQ (+ Kara and SNSD), but Jaejoong and SHINee are not famous/popular enough to make that much of a difference. These acts aren't the top in Japan anymore even if they still have good popularity. BTS, TWICE and NiziU in particular are famous outside of the core K-POP fandom and they would likely remain the top 3 in any ranking. Seventeen also appears to have a huge fandom but they wouldn't be as well-known among the public as BoA, KARA, SNSD or TVXQ. -

Vista, Sea of Moonlight, One More, and Come and Go are all great

"Public Interest" is a bit misleading. It is the percentage of people who recognize the group that say they are interested in them. So groups with low Recognition usually have higher Interest as it is mainly their fans that know about them. Iirc they were ahead last year too. It is probably because they were much more famous than Snowman predebut.

4. [+27, -14] Ever since before debuting, they were already media playing and making fans spend tons of money on them but after debuting and revealing what they really looked like, they f*cking flopped. They're really from the big3????? this is so depressing to read

The water spent per person on this concert is probably very low. It is true that they should be careful with how they use the resources but it is possible that there is actual medical need for the water to cool down the audience. Heat stroke is a serious issue. The people there probably use many times more water for showering/bathing/doing dishes in one day. If they showered for 30 seconds less they could likely offset that water use.
