Yeah, Stardom was trying to pull it off as a "minor, temporary case because of stress", but from what I understand once you start having symptoms (which usually starts around 19-20) you pretty much have it. There isn't any cure for it definitely. But schizophrenia, especially if it's minor, really doesn't mess with daily life as much as you'd think. I was curious if anyone has been talking about that though. Because Idol life is STRESSFUL and that's just going to make it worse.

Actually we talked about this in a master class once. Apparently Chinese opera is perfectly healthy, it's just SUPER bright and focused. They aren't actually straining their voices. Unless you're a countertenor, most men don't really develop much of their head voice and falsetto, but those two ranges vibrate exactly the same as a woman's chest and head voice, respectively. So basically you train your falsetto like a woman does her head voice and learn how to produce a full and resonant sound in the falsetto.

She blew out her voice doing wicked. She had to take time off from singing after it was over because her voice was basically gone and she's never been able to sing like she used to.

Oh dear. Actually, I watch a lot of music shows in their entirety so I've heard Kara's performances quite a few times. However, I do understand I wasn't very specific. What I meant is that Kara tends to go flat more often than G.I. does. I'm sorry if it seemed like I was bashing, I really should not have made an offhand comparison like that. I'm also new to this thread and I didn't know Kara was ever even talked about, I just always knew they had some obvious intonation problems and I figured everyone else on the thread had noticed it too. It was purely based on my own observations, not because of something they said on this thread.
