I doubt any member of AF wants to cb they all have different ambitions now, from acting to solo activities, or in Lizzy's case, owning a make up brand. Pristin didnt trained themselves for composing unlike Woozi who was practicing for years. They need a studio made album instead of self produce

Seventeen can comeback with a repackage album in 1st quarter I guess after Japan promotions but Pristin really needs to comeback atleast 3 times this year and get their 1st win. Btw, I am betting in 3 album promotions this year + maybe another concert or small tour around Asia. I hope I'm wrong in the last part tho, Pledis doesn't seem to want Seventeen away from Korea for too long and I agree. Well yeah it made the drama funnier to me but it wasn't that great of a character for Jun to show his potential in acting but it was a start.

Tbh I found it bad at the start and was watching just for Jun, but after a while I got fond of the characters and understood the movie/book/series references, and it became interesting. Jun was still the best actor of the cast tho, his character was so funny/sarcastic lmao. CGI was tragic, I'll admit that.

Pretty sure Mingyu was the one they're pertaining to acting but imagine Coups (graduated as acting major in hs), Jun (foreign student role?), Jeonghan (he can definitely act, though I'm not sure what role fits hime the most rn), or Joshua (student prez but is an evil mastermind) would be the one acting? Yaasss. BBC is bae. They translates all (or almost all) their stuff, they always gift us things (be it albums, shirts or special vids such as choreo versions when their MV's reach a certain number) and they treat the girls like actual human beings (they bought them sneakers when they feet hurted for using heels a lot. They also let them eat normally, all their LOONA TV are full of vids of the girls eating and not precisely a little lol) A really sweet company <3 I luv them

BBC is one of the first companies that acknowledge that having a strong international fanbase can be a huge benefit in the future of the kpop industry

As for translations most info (IG, videos on YT, MVs) about them is translated by BBC (the company) so don't worry about that haha. Some things like fancafe posts (or any non translated things) are sometimes translated by

The main YT channel loonatheworld has all the MVs (many of which are subbed) as well as LoonaTV (all of which are subbed), and LoonaTV quite frankly is best way to get to know the girls. The number of episodes seem daunting, but they're all easily digestible and less than 1 minute each. I personally follow loona pics,the main loona page on Twitter, and stalk this thread for pictures mainly.

Okay I just finished watching the episode 13 (w/o subs) and the battle with Junhee in the episode 14. I couldn't watch all the ep 14 because it's already 2 AM here and I need to wake up at 5.30AM lol

Anyway, I was surprised by Lucky's (?) vocals! she is only 16 yet has a mature voice.

 

I'm happy because Junhee secured his screentime in the episode 14. They tried to make him look like a scary hyung but that didn't work lel

 

 

Idk what happened with Lucky on this show. She's been known for being an all rounder, yet she isn't really being able to show it, and public always leaves her in last place in missions and such T.T at least she's doing ok on actual rankings

I've been watching The Unit since the start and I'm supporting ACE's Jun and Chan ^^ Those two are like my ult.

but I'm also supporting I.M's Kijung, BIGSTAR's Raehwan, Junhyeok, SNUPER, Boys Republic, MYNAME and U-KISS' Jun. But when I will mention Jun it's gonna be ACE's Jun haha.

 

I still didn't watch the latest episode but I read some spoilers abt the eliminations + new missions and I'M HYPED

Of course y'all can't identify characters or relate to the girls, what kind of content apart from practice do we ever get from them? Most casual fans probably wouldn't even know which girls belong to the same groups let alone know of any relationship between them. There was the Suji/Euna Kim thing but they don't actually spend much time focusing on that other than a mention when they end up on the same team, meanwhile how many scenes about EuijinxSeyong drama have we had? It really ain't that deep for it to be a plot point every episode.

 

What about the girls from RPG? Has the show even bothered mentioning the connection between Mint and Haseo? I'm sure there's some interesting stuff there. Or how about Euna and Janey being in UR3 together? But the show doesn't care because it knows that most of the people watching/going to showcases are BG stans hence why UnitB gets all the airtime. It's not because the girls are too nice or too boring. That's not how reality shows work, they can create drama out of anything if they want.

 

What about girls' sob stories? I would've liked to know how Bomi and Lena who barely speak korean were handling the show with the big language barrier. We don't get to hear about that, but we get a whole segment about Casper mispronouncing some words in a very obvious attempt to get airtime which..... makes it not funny at all but whatever

 

Yebin literally had her audition with an injury but the show casually chose not to mention it because... reasons.

 

Do you want an even more obvious showing of the double standard in play? We saw Hyuna going to the dorms and she had a talk with Areum where she mentioned gaining a lot of weight and stuff. But did WE actually hear from her?

 

Let's compare:

- Rain talks to Lee Jungha -> Lee Jungha talks to us.

- Rain talks to boy #2 -> Boy #2 talks to us.

- Hyuna talks to Areum -> Nothing.

 

Even when the girls get airtime, they generally only get shown, not heard.

 

I'm sorry but I am pretty sure hearing Areum talk about her state of mind after the whole T-ara thing happened and how it all affected her is FAR more compelling television than hearing about their sad stories (no offense to them) that have nothing to do with their career as an idol. But we all know why we get long ass confessionals from the boys and nothing from her and it's certainly not because the content wasn't good enough.

 

Or how about the fact that Borim has had an incredible rise in rankings, much like JeUp, but compare the airtime they both have gotten? Most casual fans probably haven't even noticed that she has quickly been rising in ranks almost as fast as he is.

 

The content for the girls is there. The show just chooses to ignore it.

 

 

tl;dr Blaming the girls being 'too nice/boring/not entertaining' as the reason why they get significantly less airtime and airtime of significantly less quality is a cop-out because the obvious reason is the fact that KBS wants to appeal to the BG stans who are the ones who are probably gonna give them more money once both groups debut.lol

I don't blame the girls. As a girl myself, I am sure they have lots of interesting stuff to talk/expose + things they are unsure, and while some may be restraining themselves from talking bc of knetz judging girls for every little thing, I doubt there isn't even one girl that is more out there to spill the beans or at least talk abt these things more (so far, they seem to like giving Areum this type of screentime, bc everything she says in eps gets an article lol). Per example, P101 S1 had WAY MORE drama/tensions than S2, and the show made an effort to showcase that.

 

The trainees/participants are never the ones to create the characters. The PDs have to do it, or at least give the public material to do so. So even when the P101 PDs didn't want to give character or screentime to someone, they had those extra videos that fans used to no end. The Unit doesn't have that big of a fanbase (in kr at least?) and the extra vids....... are not as entertaining....? (Those weird ass challenges were nice for that, in both seasons). So the PDs have to do the work of making the characters happen. Idt people here are necessarily blaming the girls for being boring. We just want the show to make the effort of building those characters.

 

They need screentime for that ofc.
