Hello everyone! I havent been feeling well today so I couldn't keep up with the thread. Did CSI Korea find any new stuff on Gowon?

Honestly, I don't see it as a problem. Just today, I was reading comments on another site saying how certain concepts that are too mature and even too luxurious, while attract a more mature fanbase, also intimidate younger/mid-20 fans. And it isn't that wrong tbh - I spent my first year of kpop avoiding E×O bc I felt intimidated by them and their aura (I was around 18/19 yo). I related to a fresh group like Seventeen and a group that (at the time) spoke to the youth a lot through lyrics and such like BT5 way more than cooler groups like them.This definitely explains A LOT when it comes to some of their concept/title track choices.
But seeing these numbers was quite a shock, to be honest. Of course I was very much aware that they would attract younger fans with the musical style they started out with - but I truly didn't expect the numbers of super young fans to be quite this high.
I wish it were different.
I feel like the conscious effort to remain 'relatable' for a certain age group forces them do repeat their earlier hits, like MANSAE and ADORE U, rather than allowing them to evolve more naturally. Look at TEEN AGE as an example - the difference between CLAP and pretty much every other song is like day and night.
Compare it to the much more mature and darker FLOWER/TRAUMA/PINWHEEL. And even other 'fun' tracks, like ROCKET and CHANGE UP have a much more mature sound in comparison.
If you were to ask me what I'd really wish for the most for the boys next comeback this February, it would be a solid smash hit. Something big and loud to really propel them to the next level, and widen their audience - and, ultimately, get them more adult fans.
Don't get me wrong, I think it's great to innovate and try to attract other audiences and public - Seventeen did that when they explored cooler concepts like Boom Boom, Clap and even DWC to an extent, and gathered a lot more fanboys than they originally had. But at the same time, you can't change too much or let go of your base fandom in order to attempt smth this risky. NUE5T did that when they were younger and lost control of themselves, but now they got both public exposure due to P101 and a notion of their extremely older fanbase, and work with that.
Seventeen are still growing (Dino literally just became an adult) and their fans are growing too. The time for everything will come and honestly, they just need the exposure. They have an extra challenge of saturated market, educated fans (sometimes loud fans promote you, even tho I'm glad Carats are how they are) and lack of public exposure as of right now, but I don't think concept is the problem. It's a matter of their hit song that's still yet to be found. Once they break through digital charts, there's no stopping to them.

Seeing it like that, I totally understand why Seventeen doesn't really go all-out on a sexy concept, at least for now. The majority of their fanbase is really young in Korea, their fresh/boy-next-door/cool image all attracts younger people, and maybe changing that wouldn't please them as much as it would for some i-fans.yup. remember the post about which group trended after year end award shows? Seventeen was not listed but then it was counted overall ages. You can actually change the age range and when I choose -10, 11~16, 17~21 Seventeen are on Top 2-3

I'm thinking of the quote rn and reading more about it.
The whole scene is about two characters finding a small pile of fruit lying in their path. One of them is very suspicious of it, but it looks really good and both want to eat it a lot. Then, the quoted part.
After saying this, the character that was reluctant realizes it doesn't matter in the end so he encourages the other to eat it, after all.
I interpreted that it doesn't matter if you eat the forbidden apple or not, (this) God will find a way to kick you out of the Eden anyways. It is waiting for you to mess up (and you will, eventually) and won't give up until you do (because "He's the type that never gives up". So maybe Go Won will resist the apple at first, yet still be tempted again and again until she realizes this and gives up on resisting so she can leave already.
