I would also say 16 or older. Not only would you be at least somewhat more mature by then, but you would also most likely have your license, and would be able to get around better to go on dates and stuff.

Eight AM is too early to be awake and working, whether it's at a job or in school (in my case, it's a job). Whoever came up with this brilliant idea should be smacked. People should not be made to do any kind of manual labor or strenuous thinking at this particular hour. Having to do so practically feels like torture or at least some form of punishment, especially when you aren't a morning person. And to make it even worse, I'm expected to get the work done without screwing anything important up (and in my line of work, the important stuff can be really expensive. So if I screw it up, I can end up being royally screwed). Which is quite a lot of pressure to be under when you're still half asleep and can't really think straight. I mean how is that even fair? It's just not right. I would love it if someone made a law or something stating that businesses (all of them) aren't allowed to open until ten AM. That would completely solve all of my problems.
