This is so frustrating and maddening. You know damn well how antis take and twist words to create narratives to paint idols in the worst light possible. And yet you didn't take any second to actually read what he said. Like, everything you said you wish he had done and said he already did. He admitted he has many shortcomings, he feels pressure from the achievements fans work hard for, he lacks confidence after everything he went through and seeing fans would help him gain it back. Don't you see how twisted everything turned out because antis took a preview of a interview and related it all to a bad encore?

You feel something more than indiference otherwise you wouldn't have come to this thread and expressed your opinion on him and it's okay, I'm not trying to change your mind or anything but there is one thing that bothers me which happens a lot with people who don't know Daniel and that's them doubting his sincerity and work ethic. This happens because he became popular all of a sudden and people always try to find issues with him without actually giving him a chance. I get it, I have idols I doubt too but I don't contribute to the general negative attitude towards them if I don't have a solid reason to do it because I know how much it can affect a person. I can't say I disagree. Although he has improved a lot and Antidote really wasn't a good choice for his vocal range.

Oh, yeah, I hear this constantly about popular idols. No offense to you but that's something that feels more like your own prejudice than something he has said or done. Because he has projected exactly the opposite. He build a company because he wanted to continue being an idol, he takes vocal lessons with th evocal coach of Twice and BTS because until going solo he got no vocal training, he learned to write lyrics so he could tell people his story like he did in Yellow, he came up with the idea of a an album trilogy so he could try different styles of music to see which fits him best, he goes university for applied music etc. You think you know what he went through but you don't. He doesn't promote much on TV anymore because he isn't comfortable in front of people anymore due to how everything he does or says gets twisted. He also doesn't go out because he is scared people will say they spotted him in shady places so he doesn't want to give them the chance. He just works and stays home. He changed his whole lifestyle after the trauma he suffered through 2019. Saying he suffered but so have others is not very nice and helpful, right?

What exactly is it? Cause he's one of the most unproblematic people in kpop. He suffered a lot and now is just minding his own business.

The Official Thread of ♔ KINGDOM ♔ Legendary War
Mees Madds replied to love's topic in Variety Shows
It's been a hot minute since I've been in a survival show thread on Onehallyu (WIN, Mix&Match, Produce series) and they've all been a treat lol so I'm looking forward to this. I'm obviously all in for iKON but I genuinely like the groups involved. I think this is gonna be good. -
He's not holding grudges publicly because he can't afford to. Otherwise he will continue being banned and not get the same opportunities other artists get. But in his private letters to fans he has let us know that he has had to deal with lies and people who look only after their own gain. Some of his staff have thrown some shade at the obstacles Daniel and them had to face in the past. The only time he has spoken about the lawsuit was to say that was something a 22yo should not have to deal with. Looking from outside it's easy to say he should get over it. He has an amazing thing going on right now with his own staff made out of close friends and other people who know how to manage him without risking his mental health, an environment that looks like is healing him from his troubles. What CJ is doing right now with these articles written by the same "journalists" who wrote lies about Daniel in 2019 is put pressure on him to join unless he wants to look like the bad guy in front of the public. CJ hasn't changed one bit.

I don't know where you got that from when the other members have constantly said they all keep in touch and whenever Daniel is at the same event with the other members they are super friendly. CJ tried to end Daniel's career last year, tortured him with false articles and media play, exposed his relationship and had him banned from kpop events and TV. Which all added to the harassment from some Wannables towards him and it all ended in him having to take a break for his mental health. Is it any wonder he would not want to get involved with anything related to Wanna One again? Especially when it's a superficial "reunion" for the sake of MAMA ratings?

I had to stop in the middle and I'll be honest, if it wasn't BP, I wouldn't have finished the song. Bekuh Boom is bragging about Lisa's rap and I just... Lisa has the potential to deliver the most baddest, cool, savage rap section in kpop (yes, even in a more bubblegum pop song) and yet lately she's stuck with lyrics like "Mona Lisa kinda Lisa".

Maybe you can mind your own business and don't go around telling people what they should feel? How about that? Now I'm obligated to absolutely love everything everyone releases? Why, so you don't get your feelings hurt? Is this an appreciation thread? No, it's a release thread where people can love, hate or be confused by the direction of the song. Telling me fans love the song like that is supposed to make me love it too. I don't even dislike it, I just don't get it. So find someone else to be passive-aggressive with.

I'll be honest, it confuses me. It's cute and nice but why did it have to be a special release? Why is it in English if they are gonna hide it among autotune? Why make the MV a twin of BWL? Why make it so cute if it's supposed to bring energy to fans around the world who are fighting with the pandemic? Why not do a powerful, inspiring song that only BTS can do? I guess I don't get it right now. Maybe I'll find the song's reason if I keep listening.

I guess I'm biased because the pre-release has always worked for my faves even back to 2015 when iKON released My Type as an early single and it became a hit in Korea which Rhythm Ta would not have been able to achieve. Maybe pre-releases shouldn't be a thing for the big, popular groups because it spends some of the hype for their comeback. But then it feels kinda limiting for them to do one main release just so they can gain the most numbers they can. I've always loved when artists give attention to more songs from their albums. It also makes them put in less filler songs and helps their discography.

Well, I'm here for the music. For example, Daniel's album is filled with great songs. Literally no skips. But people would not be checking it out if he hadn't had Waves come out first since it was actually an amazing song and had two known and respected artist on it and got people to be interested in what he's bringing to the table. He also gave a Movie MV after his promotions were over just because he felt like it. So why would I say no to more content? Imo, if the music is good, there's no reason for a pre-release to hurt. But I guess for the big groups for which the numbers matter, it can lessen the hype for the main track.

Did you not watch until the end? The staff was wearing masks, they were outside and there seemed to be under 50 people there. People are allowed to work during these times.

Daniel is giving us so much! And it's what Magenta deserves, 3 great MVs and only good music. Loved seeing all his friends with him in the video.

2020 Soribada Best K-Music Awards winners
Mees Madds replied to speedthief's topic in Celebrity News & Gossip
Baekhyun for example fell out of their chart after a week. This was about charting on Soribada which is a small chart where fandoms can do better than big digital acts. Physicals and digitals from other charts didn't matter here. -
I always feel bad for even thinking about this because the other 6 deserve a real chance at trying to make it without B.I but...it's just too hard. Even if we leave the bond and friendship there was with i7ON, the group's musical identity was given by B.I. Donghyuk seems to be writing and composing with the aim to produce their next album and considering how beautiful Flower was I have faith he would do a good job. But iKON is done in the eyes of the public. And their korean fandom is done as well. And the main thing they were valuable for to YG, touring, won't be available for some time. They won't get solos in YG, they won't get variety shows or other gigs so why even drag this out until 2022? It's so depressing as a fan from 2013 because what I loved the most about iKON has always been their passion for music and performances. And I don't feel that passion from them anymore. That's what's making me feel hopeless.

Why didn't YG give TREASURE a more gp friendly song like My Type?
Mees Madds replied to The Hoe Wears Prada's topic in Random
I just want to mention something because you don't know since you are not an iKON fan (although you seem really convinced of what you're saying). #WYD which was released in summer of 2016 and was gonna be iKON's first comeback before it was decided it would remain an unpromoted single, is basically My type 2.0. And it reached no. 1 on Melon with roof hits and everything and would have been more popular if it had been promoted. So iKON was definitely gonna continue with that gp friendly sound if they hadn't been forced into a year and a half hiatus from SK. -
Why didn't YG give TREASURE a more gp friendly song like My Type?
Mees Madds replied to The Hoe Wears Prada's topic in Random
I can't believe someone seriously said My type isn't gp friendly and then started writing essays based on that awfully wrong assumption...
