[180201] Interview with Taewoong-san (Snuper) from the musical "My Bucket List" What is the highlight of "My Bucket List"? I think the highlight is the friendship between Haegi, who I play, and Kang. As time goes by, the respective pain of Haegi and Kang is conveyed. What do you think the charm of acting on stage is? This is the first time I'm doing a musical since I was a child actor, 11 years ago. It's very exciting to be standing on stage for the first time in a long while not just as Snuper, but as an actor. The true charm of acting on stage is that you can sync up with the emotions of the audience since you're in the same place. What is the thrill of performing? When I'm not Taewoong, but instead become someone else, I can experience emotions that I haven't felt before and various circumstances. I think that might be nice. I also think that it's interesting to be different than the other actors who have played the same role. Is there anyone you ask advice for about theater? There's a senior actor that I get advice from ever since I was a child actor. Even now I still ask that person for advice. I heard that you're doing the musical in Japanese. What gave you trouble with that? When I got the script for the first time, there was a lot of Kanji. So I got the feeling of, "Oh no, what should I do?" (laughs) Is there something about Japanese you like? That would be "itadakimasu". (laughs) Since I like to eat. Is there anything you look forward to eating in Japan? There is. I really like sushi and sashimi! It's my dream to eat Ono Jirou's sushi one day. What's at the top of your bucket list? Making this musical a success. After that, there's various places that I'd like to go to if I had the time for it since travelling is like healing for me. I like to travel by myself. If we're talking about Japan, I'd like to go to Hokkaido and Okinawa. Whenever I had a little bit of time, Id travel to Jeju. The seafood was delicious there! I want to travel to more and more countries. What's fun about a trip is coming across new places, new people and new sceneries. Do you have any impressions left of any musicals you've seen up until now? When I was in the first year of middle school I saw "The Lion King". The stage is very showy and beautiful, and I like it since it brings out my childhood memories. Which TV dramas and movies do you recommend? Fukuyama Masuharu-san's "Like Father, Like Son" was very impressive. I thought Fukuyama-san was very cool in "Ryomaden" as well. I think that singers who can both sing and act are very cool. What kind of group would you introduce Snuper as? It's a group where all the members have very distinct and unique personalities. For example, among the members I'd say I'm the quiet one (laughs), while the other members are more noisy. (laughs) Push and pull, people who pull pranks and people who get pranked, that balance and give and take is amusing. It's a group that harmonizes well when we come together! Is there any music you can recommend? I often listen to BIGBANG's songs. Please give a message to the Marisol readers about your aspirations for 2018. I'd like for it to be a happier year than 2017.
