  1. I might have missed out on that because I'm always imagining him singing awesome soft rock/rnb songs lol. I'm butthurt that he isn't and probably will never be one of YG's favorites. He has so much potential.
  2. Like I said, I'd love it if the other boys tried and contributed too but I don't agree that they're all into hiphop. I feel like Jinhwan, Junhwe and Yunhyung, for example, would go into very different directions than Double B if they could compose. They're probably into hiphop like Taeyang is into it lol. But choreography etc? They definitely need to help B.I out. I don't know why he's still doing literally everything. He's obviously very tired and stressed.
  3. The albums released were cohesive, I didn't say otherwise. Winner had to debut after a long ass delay because it took a lot of time to produce that cohesive album with 3-4 people wanting different sounds and I really doubt that the end product was what any of them were going for. All of the songs on that album sound like a watered down version of what they were supposed to be. Again, I'm not talking about BB's last album (which was awesome) but the one that was supposed to be released in the summer which didn't and won't get released this year because they're too busy being awesome on their own.
  4. Well now that Winner is brought up, I can definitely say that I don't want Ikon to have the same "individuality" as them. They couldn't come up with a cohesive album because everyone had a say and wanted different things. Then YG basically set up a (boring af) genre for them and then the best song for that genre came from outside the group. That's why they got delayed so much lbr. Other YG acts really aren't good examples either. 2ne1 is one of the most dysfunctional groups, BB can't even come together to produce an overdue album. In that sense it's good that B.I has so much control over the group because they'll need that in the long run. That's for the music part ofc. I agree that it's Double B+friends for now and the other boys need to showcase personalities/talent that make them stand out to casual listeners, that's how you get fans. I think M&M is trying to do that with Yunhyung and Junhwe but we'll see. Hongseok definitely has a lot of potential as well.
  5. I feel like everyone is overreacting to basically everything about this show. What would be the point of the show if there wasn't tension in the beginning? Not to mention Mnet is probably making things look worse than they actually are with that SMTM style editing. I'm also curious about where you guys are seeing these horrible ot6 fans. Almost every TB fan on this forum liked Hongseok and didn't make a big deal out of the "not being hiphop" thing. If it's youtube+twitter comments then welp. You're wasting your time expecting common sense there. I know this is the non-delusional (lulz) place to discuss the show but from the way you people perceive things I wonder if you have any understanding of basic human emotions and variety show editings. If I didn't know better some of the reactions here would make me think that the boys ganged up on the new members and beat them to a pulp or something. They were inclusive and professional when they needed to be and that's what matters. Also, they will be getting along just fine later on as you can see from the unreleased videos so this is kind of pointless. I wonder why some people are watching the show if they're going to be so scandalized everytime one of the boys isn't completely down with the idea of losing one of their original members. I mean I want Donghyuk to be dropped but I don't expect the boys themselves to be rational about this.
  6. It's funny how delusion is only attributed to fans. Half the people spewing shit in that thread know nothing about the boys and the situation nor do they care to. On the other hand, a bait thread about Ikon with no receipts whatsoever getting so much attention is a good thing. That's relevancy.
  7. Looks like I'm never gonna be impressed by Donghyuk. I mean yes he was better than usual but idk. He doesn't do anything for me. Jinhyung is too cute, he also has a good voice and potential. Hongseok sounded great when he sang in front of the boys but kinda let the nerves get to him at the end. I hope he performs well. I'm all for OT5+Jinhyung and Hongseok. Donghyuk can't stay simply because Jinhwan is there and he's more essential to the team. I don't want to hear both of their voices in a song.
  8. That's it, Hongseok is the saviour. He sounded great.
  9. ^I think I heard Rolling in the Deep at the end there... What's with Bobby's teams and horrible song choices?
  10. ^Agreed. He's one of my favourites but I feel like he did too much on the Papyrus discussion. I know this is a variety show and we shouldn't take it too seriously but he rubbed me the wrong way this time. Zhang's like one of those kids who, when they find something that makes people laugh, go overboard and never stop doing it. John Park was a great guest, didn't talk too much but still contributed. Seyoon remains my favourite MC, I just love how he makes sure that the jokes don't go too far and always says something positive afterwards. SSK needs to talk less.
  11. Can we talk about how much Yunhyung has improved in every way possible though? I'm so happy for him.
  12. YG is disturbing the teamwork for those kids? I'm not against member changes if they're going to contribute but wtf. How difficult is it to find a good singer? They wouldn't improve the vocal line at all. Maybe it wasn't the right song for Jinhyung...
  13. Okay, Hongseok has to be a great singer because Chanwoo and Jinhyung... I thought at least Jinhyung would be better. Hongseok pls be good.
  14. Too much Donghyuk too. Jinhwan and Donghyuk shouldn't get more than 2 lines. I wonder if Hanbin is the one deciding who gets to sing which part. If so, our ears are going to be tormented throughout their careers unless Jinhwan channels his inner Taeyang and finds something that works for him. He can sound good sometimes, especially in pop songs.
  15. And if they did already have a member who was popular aside from Double B, would the song chart better? No. That's what I'm saying. A song that forgettable won't do well on the charts, it has nothing to do with the team's overall popularity. Jang Beom-Jun is hella popular and his last album/title track dropped so fast on Melon, it wasn't even in top 50 last I checked. Gary&Jung In, who had one of the biggest hits this year, came out with another duet and couldn't even crack top 10. I could go on. Of course YG needs to work on promoting other members (which won't happen lol), and Ikon lacks public recognition as a group for now but Wait for Me isn't really a foreshadowing of how they will do. YG is great at debuts and choosing title tracks and I can guarantee that their debut will showcase better songs than a failed Winner filler (sorry B.I )
  16. WFM flopping doesn't mean anything though. It's a filler song with no pre-release hype and it doesn't show Ikon's colours at all so you can't make out whether Ikon as a group will do well or not from that song. It was basically released as a thank you/goodbye song for fans. I doubt YG was counting on a song that insignificant to do well or that he will change his opinions about the lineup according to its success. I do think he plans to drop Donghyuk and add Jin+Yang though.
  17. This. Add to that TB also has Junhwe while this group's vocalists like Eunbi (is she even still in the group?), Hanna and Chaeyoung, while having good vocal tones and singing abilites, aren't that impressive/amazing. Jennie will be a decent sub-vocalist. I doubt Lalice, Jisoo and Jinny will contribute much to vocals, I know YG better than that. They were recruited for other qualities. Miyeon might be good, who knows. I also don't expect anything better than decent when it comes to rapping. I'm not trying to bash the girls and they might be better than we give credit them for but there are obvious problems in the talent department. The fact that YG decided to go forward with two groups (winner&ikon) which aren't that strong either says a lot about this group. Like you said, there isn't that one member who makes up for all of this like most YG groups do, so... At this point I'm more interested in how YG is going to market them than the girls themselves.
  18. Zhang in the Happy performance was the funniest thing on this show so far. I couldn't stop laughing. He's easily my favorite member now. Looks like the next episode is going to be entertaining. lmfao @ Ausniel asking if Egypt raises camels at home.
  19. Oh no I'm not hating at all, I've loved him since WIN because of that blunt personality of his. I'd probably react the same way tbh.
  20. Jinhyung. He's too cute omg lol @ B.I's face when YG called the new kids in. He didn't even try to hide his bitterness.
  21. Mte. He looks really bad. 7 more minutes right?
  22. I'm ready to love Hongseok tbh. I hope he's a good singer, he'll be a great addition to the group. I'd like it if it was OT6+one new guy but those two seem to be very strong contenders. Yunhyung has the visual title and more stable singing going for him. It also helps that you can distinguish his voice from Jinhwan's. I think it's going to be Donghyuk unfortunately.
  23. It's cute that there are people who actually believe the audience gets to choose the lineup lol. If YG wants Jinhyung in the group, he will be in the group even if the rumors had some truth to them. Considering that the bullying/harrassment thing was most probably fake, his chances remain the same. Actually it's pretty clear to me that he's going to be in the group.
