It's crazy what the human brain does to people who don't want to admit what's pretty obvious. It's clearly his apt., his dog, and his butch lesbian hair cut lol8 points

I dont know japanese but i am throwing this here in case anyone knows. Shinjiro Atae gave an interview talking about his coming out7 points

they're just doing fanservice on a level beyond the comprehension of our small human minds, no need to worry too much about it7 points

i've heard about that. i think he was a member of a vietnamese boy group they have/had? but it could've just been said in a way to be malicious and insult-y. looked it up to jog my memory and he said 4/6 of oneus were gay while all of mamamoo are lesbians and while i think there are lgbt members in either group, it could be an exaggeration or him trying to brag about having connections and therefore gossiping. when thinking about it, i've viewed it in the same way as when jessi was basically messaging tiffany on myspace and said that boa is gay (every current kpop fans takes it as her outing boa but i thought it'd be fresh in everyone's memory that 'gay' was an extremely common insult in the 2000s - at least that's what it was like at my school, especially because she was literally insulting boa in the message) but it might be a slightly different situation now that i look at the specifics as he spoke about it like it was a fact rather than just using gay as a derogatory adjective/insult. on jungkook, as per usual there's a lot of debunking going on but i think it's him on the basis of him having a big sasaeng problem (a few months ago he had people ordering food for him via delivery and he was on weverse saying not to do that, i assume the food delivery is like confirmation that they have the right address, i wouldn't be surprised if there were people watching/filming outside his house) and also, what other man has that fuckass bob and that dog specifically? the focus should be on the invasion of his privacy, not "oh it couldn't possibly be him" but of course some people haven't learned from taehyung and jennie even though they made it messier than it should've been6 points

Oneus has given me very gay vibes, before the Soobin thing, Keeonhe had flown pretty under the radar, there are other member who seem much gayer. It’s crazy to me that anyone though Jungkook was anything other than straight. He is the only BTS member I’ve gotten zero queer vibes from. Super fucked up that someone’s just filming him in his apartment.6 points

Japan has a bit more visible of a queer scene than Korea does and for sure has more out queer celebrities in general than Korea does which does a lot for normalizing that sort of thing. The various fashion subcultures in Harajuku have also allowed for a lot of less traditional gender expression to be normalized in big cities and especially Tokyo. I think queerness often gets conflates with fetish and kink to a degree that is much higher than any other culture I'm familiar with. I think the prevalence and portrayal of queerness in anime and manga has probably done a lot of good for moving the needle among younger generations but it's no secret that a lot of very mainstream anime portray trans people and other minorities in a very casually fetishistic way. Once you look past the younger generations and city dwellers though, Japan is still by and large extremely socially conservative. You are still hit with a lot of backlash and bullying for being "out" in Japan just like everywhere else. It's why Shinjiro Atae is getting so much attention, it really is not normalized anywhere close to how it is in the Americas and such. Ryuchell's recent death still makes me so angry and hopeless every time I think about it.5 points

I think she is just holding something in front of her stomach that JK is reaching for? Regardless she is a tall woman, an Amazonian queen. Climb that tree JK. Looking like JK and the beanstalk.5 points

Wasn't there a former RBW trainee who once said half of the Oneus members are gay ? Maybe he was bullshitting, maybe his words weren't far from the truth. At least it seems like there's a pattern with the male idols that Soobin befriends. Otherwise there are videos circulating right now on Weibo and Twitter showing Jungkook and his girlfriend at their apartment. I really hope this time Jikookers and Vkookers finally get the memo about their ships being nothing but delusions and stop haunting this thread.5 points

Idols that have hinted at being bi/pan with their own words: Suga Eunwoo Jackson Wang Felix Minghao Bobby from Ikon... Wonho Do you guys remember anyone else ?5 points

SNSD was 1) arguably the most popular girl group at the time and 2) at a certain point SM realized that they could do "girl crush" concept because male fans didn't need to be catered to (they would just gravitate towards beautiful women) and female fans are generally more loyal to the groups they stan. Around ~2013 SNSD suffered a transformation into that selling strategy and started to amass lots of female fans because of it. I think Taeyeon, Yoona, and Jessica had the most fangirls, but they are also the most popular lol. As for who had the most tea, it was Taeyeon and Yuri.3 points

Really fucked up and terrifying. I bet it's from a sasaeng. Us regular Kpop fans tend to really underestimate how insane they are and how far they are able to go to satisfy their obsessions.3 points

Earlier people talked about idols doing fanservice, and while we may not know their sexuality some engage in it a lot more than others so some fans may misinterpret it. But, what idols do you all feel engage really heavily in fanservice, more than the average idol? I know Super Junior gets brought up a lot in that regard but outside of them.2 points

I honestly believe that bro was high as a kite lol. And it's always these 4 along with Jaehyun who may never beat the "nct stoner posse" rumours2 points

Most tomoons will easily admit Hwanwoong is almost definitely queer and that Dongju likely is too but for some reason they all pretty unanimously consider Keonhee straight. He's pinged me even in pd101 days, predebut he always hung out with Hwanwoong and Dongmyeong without the other rbw boys and obviously Keonhee can still be straight and be very close friends with two very clearly not straight dudes but commonality breeds closeness as they say. Unlike Hwanwoong and Dongju who do fanservice and are/were both part of a popular ship, Keonhee's not very flirty or affectionate with the other members so I think tomoons kind of just write him off as straight or don't pay him much mind. This is the vlive where he talked about how he thought Soobin was doing aegyo at him with a more coherent translation. He also talks about Soobin being his bias, he's pretty blatantly fanboying here. Just bros being dudes:2 points

Produce Japan has always had a pretty reasonable age range for auditions (15 to 27) maybe because they want to distinguish themselves from the typical j-idol image which leans very young. I was slightly disappointed by there only being one 90s contestant and only two my age ('00) but it's nice that everyone's at least high school age.1 point

I don’t have any songs in mind in particular, but in general I’m fully expecting SM to release more remake songs with their newer groups. I feel like SM is pretty famous for remaking their old songs? Though now that I think about it, are there even any companies other than SM that have been around long enough to start remaking their songs? I’m not too knowledgeable about the history of companies or 1st gen Kpop, but did any other company have groups in the 90’s they can start remaking music of? I know the early 2000’s is starting to be quite a bit ago, but other than special stages I feel like songs like Mr. Simple or Roly Poly (just random examples) aren’t quite old enough to get remade yet?…1 point

She's a couple years older than the group so I wonder if she was yet another victim of a company kicking trainees out for being "too old" that's getting pretty common these days (JYP, Cube, etc). It's nice that the Produce series always has at least one or two "older" contestants and that age doesn't seem to be as much of a hindrance on these shows.1 point

Idk what happened cuz those things deleted... but my thots on the topic ig. Its dumb af of them. Like lbr, who cares how ur raised ir cultures etc. At ur big age in 30s and joking about skin tonsa just cuz u have a friend that's not pale... Like just making me think of in high school when i had friend group and esp my bestie there was always cracking jokes ab this one guy in the group being so dark can't see him with the lights off and stuff like that. And im sat there as the fully white person in group like like i dunno i didn't think its racist cuz they're both black and didn't even know the word colorism until i started imteracting in kpop fandom like 1 or 2 yr l8r. Like being twice age i was in this mentality andstill colorism jokes. Sidenote as teen i was very intentional not pc (cringe but yeah) like i feel like is saying sumn i even as edgelord was like nah that's out og pocket but these decrepits are amused by this sorta thing. Esp to an audience and knowing yall public figures. And nah i get it diff cultures.. but that's bs excuse. They're grown men tbh and should know better1 point

correct me if i'm wrong but isn't this normal? judging from the gif her nose only moved when she pushed her upper lip out, mine does the same thing and i've never had any work done. she could have had something new done but i don't think her nose moving like this is an indicator of anything.1 point

I remember a video where they were asked about their celebrity crushes and Gisele Said that Winter's crush is Harry styles, karina's is Kendall Jenner and ningning's is doja cat She was probably joking and i think Karina is straight... But ningning has raised My eyebrows recently, i think that live With her and that Girl Ellis was Pretty Sus + she holding the pride flag Gisele pings to me... I don't know why but there's something about her...1 point

About Sana, it's not just that she was flirting with this guy, she also emphasized that her ideal type are manly men and talked about how she was happy to finally show her real self. Implying that all those years of flirting with women were her playing a character. Anyway, I kind of always had the feeling she was just a straight girl using queer fangirls to her benefit and I don't even blame her for that tbh, competition is fierce in the industry. And while I agree that queerbaiting as a concept can't be applied to real people, it's very much a fact that certain idols do a lot more fanservice than the norm. And by that, I mean suggestive fanservice with their bandmates or their fans of the same-sex that most of the other idols don't do. I don't think LGBT fans should be vilified for feeling disappointed over those idols being so vastly different from their personas and unstanning them. After all Sana isn't going to lose sleep over sapphic fangirls dropping her.1 point

Y'all ain't hear this from me, but last week I saw a video of a Korean gay guy living in SK basically saying that a lot of the "Idols popular among Korean gay/lesbians" list have "some hidden truths" (his words not mine). Basically, he was saying that some of the actors and idols that are popular among gay men are very involved in the gay scene in Korea. He also said that it's the same for female idols/actors as well. He said that this isn't the case for all of them and that other celebrity men are just ideal types among gay Korean men ( Taeceyeon for example). As we know J0 Kwon, Key, and Seungkwan never make these lists, but we can assume that they're lgbt. Mingyu, DO, Jaehyun, Eunwoo, Gong Yoo, and Moobin have been on these lists for YEARS. I think that it's very interesting. He deleted the video, though.1 point

I don't think veneers and braces are exactly use in place of each other. Veneers make the size of the teeth even, and the color very white, but they go over a "stump" of the original tooth. If your teeth are not aligned, veneers can't make them align.1 point

old asf post haha but i was lurking the older pages and the bottom two pics are the craziest to me, how is it possible to elongate lips' width like that? her lips used to end at around the same width as the side of her nose, now they extend way past that? i mean i know she got lip filler but is there another surgery she did to get them to extend like that? is it just an illusion cause her nose is narrower after rhinoplasty? edit: i know she's smiling in the second pic but even when she isn't the appearance is still there. see:1 point

While I agree kpop procedures can go overboard with what she thinks people have done, I find the photos she selects very helpful because she always shows photos with a similar expression and angle, as well as cropped close ups. It makes subtle differences easier to spot and avoids confusion from simple angle and expression changes.1 point

I agree but I would swap chan and jisung because there's literally nothing that screams queer to me in chan like I stan skz since debut and this man never showed any genuine attraction towards guys not even once like he calls men handsome and that's basically all.. While jisung is a stereotypical bi / pan like let's look at his song volcano there's no way this song is about straight relationship1 point
