  2. About Sana, it's not just that she was flirting with this guy, she also emphasized that her ideal type are manly men and talked about how she was happy to finally show her real self. Implying that all those years of flirting with women were her playing a character. Anyway, I kind of always had the feeling she was just a straight girl using queer fangirls to her benefit and I don't even blame her for that tbh, competition is fierce in the industry. And while I agree that queerbaiting as a concept can't be applied to real people, it's very much a fact that certain idols do a lot more fanservice than the norm. And by that, I mean suggestive fanservice with their bandmates or their fans of the same-sex that most of the other idols don't do. I don't think LGBT fans should be vilified for feeling disappointed over those idols being so vastly different from their personas and unstanning them. After all Sana isn't going to lose sleep over sapphic fangirls dropping her.

  3. correct me if i'm wrong but isn't this normal? judging from the gif her nose only moved when she pushed her upper lip out, mine does the same thing and i've never had any work done. she could have had something new done but i don't think her nose moving like this is an indicator of anything.

  4. Y'all ain't hear this from me, but last week I saw a video of a Korean gay guy living in SK basically saying that a lot of the "Idols popular among Korean gay/lesbians" list have "some hidden truths" (his words not mine). Basically, he was saying that some of the actors and idols that are popular among gay men are very involved in the gay scene in Korea. He also said that it's the same for female idols/actors as well. He said that this isn't the case for all of them and that other celebrity men are just ideal types among gay Korean men ( Taeceyeon for example). As we know J0 Kwon, Key, and Seungkwan never make these lists, but we can assume that they're lgbt. Mingyu, DO, Jaehyun, Eunwoo, Gong Yoo, and Moobin have been on these lists for YEARS. I think that it's very interesting. He deleted the video, though.

  5. Is it just me or does wonyoung look really different here? Something about her nose + eyes just seems off from how she usually looks. Her face is super puffy as well, i wish she would ease up on the fillers (and the highlighter on the nose is not flattering idk why they were so heavy handed with it)

  6. fr. i don't even want them to be pushed by the company or go full servicing the fans mode LMAO, i don't even mind if it's partly hao and hanbin's own doing though i definitely think the company has the most influence with how weird they are about everything in general, i just want them to be all natural and chill (obviously it's partly because they were being filmed all the time but they could've played up their friendship/relationship during boys planet for their benefit since they were, and are, both really popular but i personally don't think they did that much, they really felt quite real in all their numerous moments) because it just feels a bit strained now, like something is a bit different. thinking about that moment in the idol radio behind the scenes video when zb1 are walking into the room, hao has his arm around hanbin's and is like massaging/feeling him or something? i don't know it's cute and not that serious imo other kpop groups have done worse on camera, even hao and hanbin themselves lmao, and you can see hanbin mouth "camera" towards him and then put his hand on hao's to stop him like they could not be next to each other without holding hands during boys planet and now it's so different (again, if it's up to hao and hanbin themselves then that's fine but it does make you wonder). plus selfies of hanbin with every member in poland/england being posted on the official zb1 instagram account except with hao, it's just stuff like that you can't help but notice

  7. it's been a mess lately. first with that open letter a haobin fanbase made about wanting them to be less hidden which made non-shippers be all angry (lots of the time i find asking for duo content to be going a bit over the line since it can be mixing shipping directly with the idol/company and that just makes me a bit uncomfortable, but it does come across that haobin interact less due to the company rather than themselves so i guess the letter isn't too bad, especially since it mentioned their solo careers as well and not actual shipping), then the forbes magazine ad drama (haobin won a poll to be on a spread and mini article in forbes but the picture used was just a youth in the shade zb1 one and idol champ, who ran the poll, said it was used because there are no official pics of the two of them together (presumably meaning ones that can be provided by wakeone, which is true as they've never released behind the scenes photos of just them - though they could provide one for this lmao)) and now apparently some fan asked hanbin on a fancall if he kisses hao (it's unclear if it was meant as in a platonic kiss - the fan referenced gyuvin and yujin although some weirdos ship them so who knows - but obviously it's still a bit of a weird question to ask ) so all haobin enjoyers are being blamed for them not interacting even though during this fancall event he seemed fine about all questions concerning hao and himself and that was one person while i've seen other haobin fans condemn them. i'm just posting this because i'm frustrated by all the drama, ranting about this somewhere like twitter would probably not be the right place and i guess it's an update on what's been happening lately since the thread has been dead for about a week. manifesting good things for hao and hanbin in the future, whether that be together or for themselves individually maybe hao will stay with hanbin during chuseok as it seems to be happening now? though i don't know if we'll ever find out about that. if we do find out, it's probably likely that it's because he's not staying with hanbin but rather another member's family or even something else completely lmao.

  10. KBS2's "Good Girl" will premiere on October 27 at 10 p.m. KST. J.Y. Park New Girl Group To Be Comprised of Legendary Vocal Divas in Their 50s — Here Are Members According to the report, Korea's top solo vocalists: In Sooni, Park Mi Kyung, Shin Hyo Bum, and Lee Eun Mi will join to re-debut in a four-member girl group. All four of them are known as "nation's vocalists" with an average of 38 years of experience. In Sooni (66), the oldest sister, is a veteran of 45 years since her debut. She worked in one of the earliest girl groups in history, The Hee Sisters, in 1978. With this, she is expected to have strong leadership and experience. "The original dancing diva" Park Mi Kyung (57) and "Korea's Whitney Houston" Shin Hyo Bum (57), who are close friends of the same age, are also drawing attention for their tiki-taka chemistry. Lee Eun Mi, also known as the "barefoot diva" and self-proclaimed master of singing skills with 32 years of experience, will play the maknae role of the group. The exquisite chemistry and high wall quality of the four unique divas are expected to soar. KBS2's "Golden Girls" production team said: On the other hand, there is also a high interest in Park Jin Young, who will produce them. He is the head of JYP Entertainment and the top producer of K-pop, which produced Korea's leading girl groups, such as Wonder Girls, Miss A, Twice, ITZY, and NMIX. However, in this project, he goes back to being an artist, not the head. Attention is focused on what kind of chemistry he, who is usually famous for his perfectionism, will show with the "Golden Girls" and show synergy. The members (sans JYP) Kpopstarz & Naver

  11. I know it’s really expensive to cover/sample from them, but I’m low-key surprised an abba song hasn’t been sampled in Kpop yet. Kinda like how Madonna sampled Gimme Gimme Gimme years ago, I’m surprised by now a Kpop group (probably a female one) hasn’t attempted to sample it (or any of their other songs) as well. Especially with Retro themes being a popular theme in Kpop.

  15. Good finds! I guess my question more or less was about knowing which type of songs might we get that we haven’t heard from already. For example, Venus by Bananarama used to be fairly popular in South Korea (and Japan) but I haven’t heard it being used at all in any of the songs that came out, at least not recently.

  18. Don't know about NCT Dream, but ZB1 and Cravity I have my opinions on. For ZB1, given all the pre-debut stuff, how they behaved on Boys Planet, and current stuff, people are pretty convinced that Zhang Hao, Taerae, and Hanbin are somewhere part of the community. Ricky and Jiwoong get brought up but people are more uncertain about them (there's some irony there since Jiwoong is the only one who has kissed another man on camera lol). Cravity is an interesting one for me. People are convinced Seongmin, Hyeongjun, and Jungmo (he was rumored to have a boyfriend pre-debut). After watching their stuff for years, I wouldn't be shocked if all of them were some part of it lol. I think in general they're just a bit more feminine and affectionate so it's hard to judge. This is a great time to bring back Taeyoung dancing to Hyolyn's Dally though. I don't have any specific ones, since sometimes it can be hard to find stuff, but I do sometimes wonder about actors who are single in their 40s. Doesn't mean as much these days, but sometimes I do think about it with people like Gong Yoo or Sung Hoon or Ji Hyun Woo (though he did date Yoo In Na for a couple years). That said, I feel like an actor coming out would be even less likely than and idol, since a big part of their career is playing a straight guy in dramas and movies.

  20. I stopped consuming korean media for like a year so i don't have anything to add to the topic. What are your most recent standouts? Also did anyone watch Street Man Fighter? I am curious about your opinnions on the dancers. Obv Eoddae are gay, but a lot of the guys seemed very close with them, even hyper masculine ones like Trix. I feel like the dancer world is definitely more open minded. Other than them, 1million Choi Youngjun, Yumeki and YGX Mood Dok who choreographed this dance: Even Vata gave me some vibes, but idk. It's hard to tell based on the limited content. Prime Kings are actually very close to EODDAE. Ted and Trix are really close and there was a video where 2 eoddae members were teaching pk members to do their makeup and they were using glitter and stuff like that.

  21. Yes, you're right. The word Jamanchu specifically is about meeting a romantic partner naturally. When you google Jamanchu this shows up 자연스러운 만남을 추구한다는, 다시 말해 소개팅이나 맞선, 미팅 등이 아닌 자리에서 연애 상대를 만나는 걸 선호한다는 얘기다. which translates to 'To pursue natural encounters, which means they prefer to meet their romantic partners in places other than blind dates, meet-ups, or meetings.' He also specifically says 'I want to meet man or women' I think people like Eunwoo are considered so far off straight that he could have a boyfriend right in front of everyone and still people will just think he is just 'best bros' with that guy.

  22. The 97liner group chat also included Minghao, Seokmin, Yugyeom, and Bamban originally yes, but imo I think it ended up as mostly just being the aforementioned trio these days because they have a common interest of clubbing that kept them spending time together while the others were less into it. I don't follow got7 but Minghao and Seokmin aren't really the clubbing types, and the China friend group is going strong and probably pulling Minghao closer to that. The Sunoo-Ichan-Sungmin-Hojin-Etc friend group reads different because frankly they're all pretty obviously fruity and there's nothing else about them linking them together explicitly like age or even having debuted around the same time. They could all have become friends for various reasons but from an outside perspective the only through-line with them is that literally all of them are widely assumed queer. From a carat perspective, I've never been able to get behind Mingyu being queer. I honestly think he's probably got some underlying homophobic tendencies even if he's not actively homophobic or even considers himself open-minded. Mingyu does a lot of "haha, I'm doing something not stereotypically masculine" jokes that come across as very straight, because queerness is always the inherent punchline. He clearly does like getting attention from men to a degree but he's also very blatantly got a pretty big ego and I think he just likes when anyone at all feeds into it.

  27. I think his last nosejob (whenever it was, I can't really remember) is settling more and he's gotten leaner over time. Both things contribute to his nose looking more pinched. I think he's gotten his nose done 2-3 times, but within the past year I don't think it's gotten redone, there just isn't much time for him to heal given TXT's schedule.

  30. Key and Jo Kwon are actually gay. Hope that helps. In case people don't understand that the first part is a semi joke (you guys really are running with that incel thing, good lord), very few fans in Korea actually think these two men are straight these days. There's a couple of truthers but this simply isn't really a correct categorization. I don't think it's helpful to do the "fans even think so and so is straight" routine. At some point you have to accept that unless an idol has done things that are undeniably gay, people are going to have differing opinions. Someone saying Moonbyul is straight is delusional considering her single from this year, someone saying Taehyung doesn't seem gay when the evidence is...far less convincing...has an opinion (not to mention he's clearly had a girlfriend and they seemed happy together and that's lovely). I think if you can't hear alternate opinions without getting aggressive, you probably need to question your own biases and feelings. The idea that a celebrity you like might actually just be straight shouldn't make you angry. If it does, that's a you problem. This happens over and over and over again where fans convince themselves a member of a group is gay, he isn't, and then they hate him or they create conspiracy theories about his real life women partners (always delving into blatant misogyny) in order to cope. It's not healthy and its not fair to any of these celebrities. You should NOT be angry that any celebrity you like could be straight, if the idea makes you angry, you need to reflect. It's weird. As a further point to the person on another page, where did I say Taehyung is queerbaiting? I didn't. I don't believe in the concept of queerbaiting for real life people! However, the fact that YOU decided anyone who thinks he isn't gay MUST thinking he is baiting says a lot about how you approach him and view him and how entitled you are over real life human beings. Kpop is all about fanservice, you can't be angry at any idol for selling a product when they don't exactly hide it. If Taehyung is straight or predominantly attracted to women (the amount of biphobia in people having a breakdown over me saying he could be bi with a female preference...), he isn't queerbaiting. He hasn't done anything to "bait" you other than watching some films and not being a homophobe. On statistics, I have a bachelors degree in the area so...lol. Of course, and I literally said this but again, many of you are reading and replying in bad faith, it's not IMPOSSIBLE for a 7/7 group to be gay. But it's borderline impossible in that it is so vastly improbable it's a silly thing to argue. If you randomly select seven people from the broader population, of course you could select a gay majority. It can happen! However selecting 7 people who are all LGBT identifying is highly, highly unlikely and the reality is, people only want it to be true because of confirmation bias and wishing all seven of their BTS oppas liked men. It's simply not reality.

  31. I think that Sehun probably isn't gay. As in I have read this thread and all of the receipts and I think that a lot of people don't realize that the older receipts mostly come from HunHan shippers and aren't that gay in context. Things like him supposedly dating that chef is very likely not true as this is something you will only find on Hunhan related blogs outside of this thread that show a ton of confirmation bias. I think that fans that label certain idols as gay in their mind also tend to ignore a lot of red flags about them because of this confirmation bias. Something we saw with Heechul, any interest he showed towards younger women was ignored but it was definitely always present. With Sehun people that tend to think he is gay ignore a lot of red flags about him probably being not what they think he is. A lot of Kfans think badly about him. Korean threads about him are always full of people pointing out he hangs out with awful men and has a lot of rumors about room salons. To me the discussion about Sehun is similar to the discussion about Chanyeol before his cheating scandal. People used their friendship as evidence of them both being gay. This thread was convinced Chanyeol had a Japanese boyfriend because he hung out there a lot and his Japanese friends supposedly had a lot of gay rumors and what happened? That supposed boyfriend and those friends are being accused of sleeping with minors. Chanyeol always had obvious red flags but they were ignored in favor of him saying he had a crush on Nick from zootopia. And I think people are ignoring many red flags exhibited by Sehun because his members joked about him eight years ago. Look at who he hangs out with, it includes Chanyeol, Seungri and that BJ Kei. Red flags all around.

  32. Yeah do you not see...how weird you're being over someone stating their opinion on the sexualities of men you'll never meet? This is how you know a thread is a lost cause. Me: I don't think certain members of BTS are gay or date men and honestly sometimes people's opinions are really bizarre to me on the issue because in my experience its very obvious these two members are queer and these ones aren't. You: ArE YoU WEll ToDay?!! IS YouR liFE ok??? Im SOrry HaNG in THEre!!!! Like...utterly bizarre. Where in my opinion does it say that other people don't have alternate opinions? It doesn't! I stated mine, you didn't like it, you then decide to completely derail the thread and personally attack me in more than one post, you then pretend that me having a different opinion to you is somehow inherently oppressive and I must not recognize that opinions are different, etc etc etc. Talk about an overreaction. Which, again, I knew would happen because this thread is such a way that if you say any combination of Taehyung, Jungkook or Jimin are not exclusively or mainly attracted to men, people will personally attack you, take what you say in bad faith, and have complete mental breakdowns. And that's because when it comes to BTS, people aren't allowed to have opinions here that aren't "they are queer" on certain members, especially Taehyung. Which is ironic considering my original post literally said "he could be bisexual but I think he's way more attracted to women", which again I think points out that you even have a problem with someone thinking Taehyung likes women more than men, which is weird of you! The fact that you're also a "every photo of Jennie and Taehyung was edited' truther tells me everything I need to know about you and what motivates your opinions. In fact, if you wanted the actual tea on the members of BTS, forums other than this one can tell you who 5/7 of them have been dating at various points with pretty extensive evidence, but people like yourself would rather be delusional for eternity than cope with them simply liking women. And yes my life is actually lovely at the moment, hence why I rarely check in here!

  33. We aren't all the same. If you're not a queer man, your opinion is less relevant and if you can't acknowledge that, that's on you. Queer men are always, always, always fetishized in these spaces and queer men have the right to assert that their opinions are more relevant in the space or more nuanced or aren't ladden with weird fetishistic biases. I am not saying every single person will have that viewpoint, but unfortunately I've been around in fandoms long enough to know that a solid majority of people here aren't going to be men and ARE going to be making up their minds based on offensive stereotypes and ARE going to be mad when someone disagrees about their favorite because they aren't interested in real opinions, they are interested in being validated in their perspective. Sorry, but anyone here who isn't a queer man does have a less relevant perspective and I'm not going to apologize for saying it. I am tired of fan spaces being full of people talking about queer men and saying offensive or heavily stereotyped stuff, and then getting salty when people point it out. Literally all I said was that people have discounted Hoseok because people are fetishists and aren't attracted to him and ARE attracted to the maknae line so they write him off, that most of the group are predominantly attracted to women which is pretty obvious and also a large statistical likelihood, that Taehyung may be bisexual but reads to me as very attracted to women, and I fundamentally don't understand people who think Jungkook isn't straight. I emphasized my experience BECAUSE in MY experience as a queer man, 90% of people who think Jungkook and Taehyung are either not or barely attracted to women are women who are fetishizing mlm, (and 100% of people who say things like all seven members are LGBT are being irrational) and I am personally tired of it. My perspective is that of a 27 year old queer man with extensive experience as a queer man, and yes my perspective is more valid than the 18 year old non queer men on twitter who fetishize people like me and then get mad when people like me express thoughts. Sorry if that upsets you! If you're a queer dude, cool! Accept that people's opinions differ to yours. If you're not, shut up. If someone can't say e.g. it's obvious that 7/7 members of a group are going to be LGBT without personal attacks, then this thread is already very lost. Not to mention no one would care if someone said it about any other group!
    1 point
  34. I'm not here to make friends, sorry. I gave my honest opinion, and you don't have to agree with it but I'm not going to wrap it in "everyone is so valid for their thoughts" to make people feel better about what I think. Absolutely none of that is particularly convincing to me, and I do know all of it considering I've been a fan for a long time. Sorry. Lots of idols are "interested" in LGBT things, unfortunately not all of them are going to be lgbt due to it. I have absolutely never seen Taehyung express attraction to a man. Him watching a film and liking some gay photographers and being fine with singing with a man is lovely (of course it's fanservice to some extent, they literally rehearsed the vmin hand hold into their Friends performance, don't be thick), and he's certainly an ally. But at the end of the day the vibes I get from him are that he really likes women and may like men but with way less of a preference. As I said, its the Harry Styles thing all over again. Dude had some interesting fashion, liked and promoted lgbt stuff, was an open ally, even talked about men he thinks are hot, and still predominantly dates women (in fact, as far as anyone knows, exclusively). Doesn't mean he can't be bi but he certainly seems to prefer women. That's exactly the same energy I get from Taehyung. In fact I think it's telling that someone jumps in and says "Taehyung could be bi but I think he prefers women" and there's already animosity. Why would that bother you? He'd still be queer, wouldn't he? Or do you just need or want him to prefer dating men? And yes I emphasized my experience because in all kpop spaces that discuss male sexuality, I've found a good 80 percent of contributors are women and/or straight. As someone who is tired of queer men being fetishized by women...there's literally a post one page ago about Jungkook having feminine mannerisms therefore is he gay...I do in fact come to these spaces knowing many of the people in them are not queer men and make up their minds on attraction, shipping and stereotypes. With certain idols (cough BTS cough) people don't seem to want real opinions from queer men. You have people pages back saying every member of BTS is in someway LGBT which is borderline statistically impossible, so you just know that if you post an opinion that most of them are straight and the ones that aren't aren't the ones people wish, people are going to get whiny about it.
    1 point
  35. That's because J-hope isn't one of the more biased members nor the most conventionally attractive so fans on the whole don't want him to be in their ships or gay so they completely wrote him off for no reason. Plus, most people know that seriously arguing more than 2-3 out of 7 randomly seleted people will be LGBT identifying is statistically highly unlikely is a thing, so because they want vminkook to all be gay, they token straight Hoseok. As an actual gay person with a functioning gaydar, he's not straight. Jin - Very obviously straight. Yoongi - Almost entirely straight, would experiment, might see himself as bi/pan but with a huge preference for women at most. J-hope - Bisexual. Either is actually dating Irene and has been for years, or she's his f*g hag. The thing that makes her seem platonic is how public he's been with her. Namjoon - Painfully straight and would probably be a bit of an incel if he wasn't in BTS (sorry). Jimin - Bisexual and not hiding it but does date and has dated women. Taehyung - 90 percent straight, sorry. May identify as bi/pan. He's Harry Styles 2.0 like the similarities are uncanny, and we all know who Harry Styles dates (spoiler alert, lots of women). Jungkook - Painfully, painfully, painfully straight and the people who think otherwise actually boggle my mind.

  36. I actually disagree bc for Korean celebrities it's perfectly normal to stay single even into your 40s. That's bc once you get married you will lose parts of your fanbase bc even actors need to be seen as available. No one cares that Lee Dongwook or Gong Yoo or Jung Woosung aren't married. Your career is at risk if you get married, especially if you're a pretty boy lol aka someone who got to where they are primarily with their looks. As for idols and queerbaiting I think idols def do queerbait despite being real people. Bc idols sell a persona, it's literally in their job description. And fans will sooner stomach the thought of their idols dating each other then their idols dating some random woman that's not them. Think about it, why it the most popular BTS ship made up of the two most popular members? Taehyung and Jungkook always do some kind of fan service at concerts which is the best place to do fan service bc it's literally in front of the fans. And that includes queerbaiting.

  37. TBH regarding Tae and speculation about him in light of recent events I gotta say, whenever idols get discussed here after they have had rumors/confirmation of dating the opposite sex there's drama and like, for what? Just my onion, but you guys understand that most bi people are going to end up dating/marrying the opposite sex due to social pressure, especially in conservative and LGBT-unfriendly countries like South Korea, right? Even a Kinsey 4-5 is almost definitely going to end up with someone of the opposite sex. And even some fully homosexual people will end up bearded or in lavender marriages and stuff like that. That doesn't mean they are straight. It means that out of every idol who is gay/bi, only a small minority is going to remain ~suspiciously single~ well into their 30s or even 40s.

  39. Sorry i was typing really fast let me explain: On 26th of april a man posted from jacks bar (not a gay bar btw) that jungkook was coming. He edited the caption after he got threats from armys An army tweeted that their fried met jungkook at a bar in seou and that he was so nice. A girl made a youtube video about bighit postponing the concert and that she met jungkook at a bar Someone asked the bar if jungkook was there and they said yes he was there with cha eunwoo jacks is an arcade bar where you drink and paly games Celebrities dont always go to private bars, they probably just want to go to bars like normal people and there has been accounts of people meeting celebrities in bars without photos and videos being taken. They propabaly ask for people not to take pictures. It wasnt spread by the anti. The bar thing came up again from the kside after news that everyone in itaewon during that time needs to get tested as wel as the female idol caught in a gay bar in itaewon. So karmys were worried and people were talking about jungkook and eunwoo being at a bar in itaewon. kArmys and kastro fans were fighting and their searches were negative on naver and ktwitter so karmys cleaned the serach. this was two days ago. Only few armys knew about this and they helped karmys clean the tags. Its still being discussed on pann. And if you see the article on gyuri apologising , people are mentioning a bts member was also at a bar and why isnt the media talking about it The anti found out and brought it to the international side which made it blow up again. Im guessing armys were confused and immediately linked him being in a bar to him being in a gay bar and accidently got it on his search. The DM with the bar i would say is proof that they were there. Idk what to call it, there are gay bars, lesbian bars so i would call it straight bar, should i call it normal bar? that just sounds wrong imo. I know gay people go to these bars but its mostly straight people there i guess. Maybe general bar would be a better name??

  40. I think those fans are just a part of a fandom. And not the biggest. Probably even smaller than same-sex shippers or the fans that sees themselves in a relationship with their idol. Companies need to not take a side to be global. Some arguments to a side or another are stronger than others depending of the situations of course but in the end, it's up to people to choose a (hopefully educated) answer. I'm just saying that idols being forbidden from interacting/showing interests in the opposite gender is a thing, just as fanservice is. So it could be an answer to JK not showing interest in women.

  41. LOL at people commenting on the video of jk looking into the camera. so because he looked into a fanboys camera means he's gay? wow the logic of kpop fans. so if a camera man working on a set and they look into it sexily it means their gay...kay gotcha. there are some dumb people on these streets wow
