For NCT dream I'm now convinced Renjun is LGBT and *possibly* Jeno. The rest of the members are straight imo. ZB1 list is kinda based off of vibes since we dont have much content to go off of yet (besides for Hanbin and Hao of course) so dont take it too seriously.8 points

For Ten, Tumblr OP mentioned how New Heroes seems to have some possible LGBTQ+ undertones. It doesn't seem far fetched since a lot of queers vibe well with the song. It was among most requested during 2018 SK pride parade: Tumblr quote: I just remembered how Ten said he loved the lyrics in New Heroes multiple times in an interview and a fansign. Meanwhile, for Paint Me Naked and Birthday which lyrics include "girl~" and "I wanna be in so deep, baby", he tried to steer fans away from taking them too literally. Ten about New Heroes lyrics: About PMN: About Birthday, he seemed like trying to convey that he's detached from the literal meanings of the lyrics, which is straight up about 2 people having sex. He insists the sensual lyrics is not him talking to someone else but only to himself.5 points

I remember that when I first got into NCT I very much disagreed with this list, but now I guess I agree for the most part haha Taeyong is also more bi/pan in my opinion, and I totally agree with the poster that Johnny is either pansexual or straight but the chances of him being straight are higher, so I deem him as straight (we do know he's dated women and I agree he and Ten were suspicious at SM Rookie days, but it's veery possible it was a one sided crush by Ten). Jaehyun is bi, Winwin is indeed as straight as a ruler, but so is Chenle. I don't blame for thinking he's gay because this was written in early's 2020 and Chenle had just started being more outspoken during that time. Jisung is the possibly the straighest member alongside Kun. Xiaojun I do agree is bisexual, but I'm not sure why I get the sense he isn't very comfortable with it. I can't say much about the other 127 and WayV members though because I haven't kept up with them for a long time. Mark is very much straight. Jeno, I have to disagree. Ever since day 1 when I got to know him and didn't even like him I thought he's queer. Renjun is bisexual or gay. But I agree so much with the post, Renjun is hard to decipher because he doesn't show his true self. He's affectionate and lovely yes but he's constantly toning down his actions and he doesn't like being perceived by the fans. But since he's my ultimate bias and I've watched so many of videos of him, I do feel like you can sometimes see beyond the facade. I'd probably switch Haechan - bisexual to straight and Jaemin - straight to bisexual, though. It's very tricky because I did use to think Haechan was at least bi... but I don't see that energy in him anymore. Is he hiding it? Was he too young before and thus playful with other men? Idk man, but to me he's straight. I think I've said this before here, but I do believe Jeno and Renjun had something romantic going on between 2018-2020. I compiled a post about them to post here but never did xd4 points

Don't know about NCT Dream, but ZB1 and Cravity I have my opinions on. For ZB1, given all the pre-debut stuff, how they behaved on Boys Planet, and current stuff, people are pretty convinced that Zhang Hao, Taerae, and Hanbin are somewhere part of the community. Ricky and Jiwoong get brought up but people are more uncertain about them (there's some irony there since Jiwoong is the only one who has kissed another man on camera lol). Cravity is an interesting one for me. People are convinced Seongmin, Hyeongjun, and Jungmo (he was rumored to have a boyfriend pre-debut). After watching their stuff for years, I wouldn't be shocked if all of them were some part of it lol. I think in general they're just a bit more feminine and affectionate so it's hard to judge. This is a great time to bring back Taeyoung dancing to Hyolyn's Dally though. I don't have any specific ones, since sometimes it can be hard to find stuff, but I do sometimes wonder about actors who are single in their 40s. Doesn't mean as much these days, but sometimes I do think about it with people like Gong Yoo or Sung Hoon or Ji Hyun Woo (though he did date Yoo In Na for a couple years). That said, I feel like an actor coming out would be even less likely than and idol, since a big part of their career is playing a straight guy in dramas and movies.4 points

I brought some recent (or not lol) receipts of Namjoon - music taste, references, etc! He consumes queer media A lot I don't know what conclusion can be drawn from previous receipts and these. He either a Very good ally or bi for me4 points

Since marriage has been mentioned…. I know sometimes it comes up that an idol or celeb mentioning they want to marry is a sign they aren’t gay, since obviously same sex marriage isn’t legal in Korea (or most countries). A few times in this thread people have said so-and-so idol really wants to get married, so it’s likely they aren’t gay. But I feel like it’s not enough to really say much for a couple reasons: 1. People may still hope & desire to get married despite not being able to. I remember when same-sex marriage wasn’t legal in California, but friends & family would ask me about getting married. I always said I wanted to…kind of hoping same-sex marriage would be legal at some point. I’m sure others feel similarly. 2. While marriage isn’t available legally, lots of same-sex couples do have symbolic marriages around the world. Having a small ceremony, exchanging rings, doing traditional ceremonies, etc. May not have any legal grounds but they’re still symbolically married, and that’s the most they can do at the moment. Now, external pressures like from parents can force someone to get married, and someone could marry the opposite sex and be bi, but I feel someone saying they want to get married doesn’t necessarily mean they aren’t gay either.4 points

I think Mark Lee is straight personaly but I dont think hes homophobic. People just like to bring up his religion when its convenient to the point they're trying to make. I may not know Mark Lee personally but he doesnt seem like the type of guy to use a bible as a gift as a way to "jab someone". Even if he does have internalized homophobia he doesnt strike me as the type of person to take it out on someone else. That blog has made other comments similar which are very questionable. But I agree with some of their other takes on some of the other NCT members like Ten, Jaehyun, and Johnny.4 points

In this video it explain why Yoo Ah In got so much hate and it was partially bc he was publicly being a feminist, was exempt from military service and hang out with people suspected of being lgbt3 points
-
I remember that this was discussed a few years back on this thread. This is such a weird reasoning, not only because Mark has never shown himself to be homophobic but especially because Haechan is a practicing christian too. As for the rest of the analysis, no offense but I personally feel it was done superficially for certain members, like by using ships, skinship, fanservice, etc. In particular with Haechan who they write down as LGBT only because of the way he teases the other guys. But that's Haechan in his "idol mode". He's a different person when he tones that down and he must be even more different in his private life (he actually talked about the differences between Haechan/Lee Donghyuck in a recent documentary and said that as Lee Donghyuck he wants to have a wife and kids). I also disagree on Taeil, Hendery and Chenle being bi, imo they're just straight. And like said above, I also think Taeyong isn't gay. On another hand, members like Renjun and Jaemin are written down as straight and although it's strange because I myself used to believe they were straight in the past (and of course they still could be), the more time passes the more I think they maybe aren't.3 points

I think Yoo Ah In’s thing was more his drug scandal, though we will see what his future holds. People here talk about his sexuality a lot, though I’m not sure how many people who aren’t online a lot would be aware of what is said about him. That said, I will be more surprised when a decently popular actor comes out than even and idol. When you think of it though, actors don’t have the rabid fans some idols have, and generally don’t have to interact on social media as much. Thus I wonder how many actors do have secret relationships and just no one is aware. Must be exhausting though. Does reminds me, some other actors that get mentioned here are Song Joongki and Park Bogum.2 points

definitely actors are the last ones to come out, look at what they did to yoo ah in sung hoon just seems uninterested at all about marriage, I can see gong yoo getting married one day but I still suspect him, don't know much about ji hyun woo there's also zo in sung who broke up with his gf because he doesn't understand women2 points

Yes, you're right. The word Jamanchu specifically is about meeting a romantic partner naturally. When you google Jamanchu this shows up 자연스러운 만남을 추구한다는, 다시 말해 소개팅이나 맞선, 미팅 등이 아닌 자리에서 연애 상대를 만나는 걸 선호한다는 얘기다. which translates to 'To pursue natural encounters, which means they prefer to meet their romantic partners in places other than blind dates, meet-ups, or meetings.' He also specifically says 'I want to meet man or women' I think people like Eunwoo are considered so far off straight that he could have a boyfriend right in front of everyone and still people will just think he is just 'best bros' with that guy.2 points

I believe he's the kind of idol who maintains an enigmatic persona and remains highly observant of his environment(Jaehyun is another). Some may perceive him as fitting the stereotypical heterosexual mold and not displaying any stereotypical gay traits, it's crucial to keep in mind that stereotypes do not provide an accurate representation of one's sexuality. Nevertheless, at times, they are employed as a means to make assumptions about someone's sexual orientation, and many members of the LGBTQ+ community may use them to gauge each other. Also, i don't know why they clown'd the t-shirt post, because i believe i posted about it a while back...he's one of the few members that's pretty fluent in English, you don't just put on a t-shirt without reading the text and understanding what it means especially in LA. Edit: I'd like to mention that when I first got into K-pop, the first idols I remember seeing were Eunwoo and Jaehyun. I distinctly recall how they appeared to be less guarded and reserved, and I can't forget Eunwoo's cheer up dancing, lol.2 points

I also think Taeyong is Bisexual and not 100% gay like some people suggest. I could see Johnny as Bi but im pretty sure hes Straight personally. As for the blog I used to follow them when they were active a couple years back and looking back I find myself disagreeing with a lot of their takes. And when I do agree a lot of their reasonings are kinda goofy and reachable imo: "To put it simply, I feel like Mark has a bit of internalised homophobia. He’s given a Bible to Haechan for his birthday, which is honestly pretty weird in and of itself, but I felt like it could have went a little deeper than that… like it could have been a jab at Haechan’s sexuality. " Like????2 points

The 97liner group chat also included Minghao, Seokmin, Yugyeom, and Bamban originally yes, but imo I think it ended up as mostly just being the aforementioned trio these days because they have a common interest of clubbing that kept them spending time together while the others were less into it. I don't follow got7 but Minghao and Seokmin aren't really the clubbing types, and the China friend group is going strong and probably pulling Minghao closer to that. The Sunoo-Ichan-Sungmin-Hojin-Etc friend group reads different because frankly they're all pretty obviously fruity and there's nothing else about them linking them together explicitly like age or even having debuted around the same time. They could all have become friends for various reasons but from an outside perspective the only through-line with them is that literally all of them are widely assumed queer. From a carat perspective, I've never been able to get behind Mingyu being queer. I honestly think he's probably got some underlying homophobic tendencies even if he's not actively homophobic or even considers himself open-minded. Mingyu does a lot of "haha, I'm doing something not stereotypically masculine" jokes that come across as very straight, because queerness is always the inherent punchline. He clearly does like getting attention from men to a degree but he's also very blatantly got a pretty big ego and I think he just likes when anyone at all feeds into it.2 points

KBS2's "Good Girl" will premiere on October 27 at 10 p.m. KST. J.Y. Park New Girl Group To Be Comprised of Legendary Vocal Divas in Their 50s — Here Are Members According to the report, Korea's top solo vocalists: In Sooni, Park Mi Kyung, Shin Hyo Bum, and Lee Eun Mi will join to re-debut in a four-member girl group. All four of them are known as "nation's vocalists" with an average of 38 years of experience. In Sooni (66), the oldest sister, is a veteran of 45 years since her debut. She worked in one of the earliest girl groups in history, The Hee Sisters, in 1978. With this, she is expected to have strong leadership and experience. "The original dancing diva" Park Mi Kyung (57) and "Korea's Whitney Houston" Shin Hyo Bum (57), who are close friends of the same age, are also drawing attention for their tiki-taka chemistry. Lee Eun Mi, also known as the "barefoot diva" and self-proclaimed master of singing skills with 32 years of experience, will play the maknae role of the group. The exquisite chemistry and high wall quality of the four unique divas are expected to soar. KBS2's "Golden Girls" production team said: On the other hand, there is also a high interest in Park Jin Young, who will produce them. He is the head of JYP Entertainment and the top producer of K-pop, which produced Korea's leading girl groups, such as Wonder Girls, Miss A, Twice, ITZY, and NMIX. However, in this project, he goes back to being an artist, not the head. Attention is focused on what kind of chemistry he, who is usually famous for his perfectionism, will show with the "Golden Girls" and show synergy. The members (sans JYP) Kpopstarz & Naver1 point

You could tell, even in her brief non-speaking role as the girl Taemin and Minho (mostly Taemin, lol) were fighting over in Shinee's Tell Me What To Do, that she's got some edginess to her. Her career is going great though and I'm glad some people are supporting her personal choices.1 point

I stopped consuming korean media for like a year so i don't have anything to add to the topic. What are your most recent standouts? Also did anyone watch Street Man Fighter? I am curious about your opinnions on the dancers. Obv Eoddae are gay, but a lot of the guys seemed very close with them, even hyper masculine ones like Trix. I feel like the dancer world is definitely more open minded. Other than them, 1million Choi Youngjun, Yumeki and YGX Mood Dok who choreographed this dance: Even Vata gave me some vibes, but idk. It's hard to tell based on the limited content. Prime Kings are actually very close to EODDAE. Ted and Trix are really close and there was a video where 2 eoddae members were teaching pk members to do their makeup and they were using glitter and stuff like that.1 point

Are we forgetting about this? Eunwoo is definitely bisexual imo. The term 자만추 (Jamanchu - click for Reddit post explaining) he used is a slang used to the preference of meeting a romantic partner naturally, without blind dates and that kind of stuff. The translation says either date or acquaintances, but honestly everywhere you look it says Jamanchu is about dating.1 point

Even the woman Vernon is/was rumored to be dating (Rakta) is bi which is interesting as bi people who are straight relationships are often in them with other bi people.1 point

I saw that Paris video lol but i Still think he could be bi though These videos of him with peder Elias looks like someone meeting their crush Edit: i posted the same video twice by mistake, Sorry1 point

Another thing that made me suspect that some people from the 97 line might be queer Eunwoo wore this t-shirt written: "would you be My queer friend" ? Eunwoo's english is very fluent and he's a very big vocal person, so he definitely knew the meaning of the t-shirt The ones i suspect the most ( again... Just my opinion): mingyu, jungkook, jaehyun and eunwoo himself ( that whole pmn thing )1 point

This is just silly fun but why am i not surprised that Soobin is Zhang Hao's favorite TXT member (and that he likes TXT), lol wbk that Soobin is the most popular member with gay men in korea so it's just funny at this point (and not zhang hao saying that he especially liked Soobin during game caterers which was basically the soobin simp olympics for male idols lol) Gay recognizes gay and all that1 point

Key listed his favorite dongsaengs in his interview with Bambam and said 1. Renjun because he reminds Key of his younger self 2. Seo Bum-june 3. Ten 4. Bambam because he was there and asked to be 4th 5. Chenle because he'd get pouty if not mentioned edit: the clown? I'm literally just saying what he said in the video. Obviously being friends with a gay person doesn't automatically make someone gay but it's definitely more relevant than eye contact or skinship.1 point

Usually I don't think much about idols with pride flags because they're thrown at the stage and they end up picking it up for a few secs but this... Ningning was the one to go for the flag and she seems to hesitate for a split second if she should really do it, it's very telling. She also had the right side up, could be a coincidence or luck but I used to think all Aespa members were straight but maybe not so much anymore... after the stuff with her model masc friend and now this. Didn't Ning also like the sapphic couple from that k-drama that got famous?1 point
-
I don’t get any queer vibes from either of them. Maaaaybe Ricky a little, but Gyuvin seems straight as hell. This whole dynamic is giving me “Hey, bro, wouldn’t it be funny to mess with people by calling each other boyfriend?”. That, coupled with the fact they have seen how other members have gotten more popular by being shipped with other members, so from a career standpoint it makes sense for them to create a ship of their own. They seem like besties having fun and capitalizing on their friendship to grow their careers, a win-win situation for them.1 point
