The 97liner group chat also included Minghao, Seokmin, Yugyeom, and Bamban originally yes, but imo I think it ended up as mostly just being the aforementioned trio these days because they have a common interest of clubbing that kept them spending time together while the others were less into it. I don't follow got7 but Minghao and Seokmin aren't really the clubbing types, and the China friend group is going strong and probably pulling Minghao closer to that. The Sunoo-Ichan-Sungmin-Hojin-Etc friend group reads different because frankly they're all pretty obviously fruity and there's nothing else about them linking them together explicitly like age or even having debuted around the same time. They could all have become friends for various reasons but from an outside perspective the only through-line with them is that literally all of them are widely assumed queer. From a carat perspective, I've never been able to get behind Mingyu being queer. I honestly think he's probably got some underlying homophobic tendencies even if he's not actively homophobic or even considers himself open-minded. Mingyu does a lot of "haha, I'm doing something not stereotypically masculine" jokes that come across as very straight, because queerness is always the inherent punchline. He clearly does like getting attention from men to a degree but he's also very blatantly got a pretty big ego and I think he just likes when anyone at all feeds into it.8 points

Another thing that made me suspect that some people from the 97 line might be queer Eunwoo wore this t-shirt written: "would you be My queer friend" ? Eunwoo's english is very fluent and he's a very big vocal person, so he definitely knew the meaning of the t-shirt The ones i suspect the most ( again... Just my opinion): mingyu, jungkook, jaehyun and eunwoo himself ( that whole pmn thing )7 points

And also... I wouldn't be surprised If bearding is also Common in kpop industry like It is in the western etertainment business5 points

Even the woman Vernon is/was rumored to be dating (Rakta) is bi which is interesting as bi people who are straight relationships are often in them with other bi people.4 points

korean as a language doesn't have gendered pronouns but the translation still holds because he actually says the words men and women. he says 남자든 여자든 which translates to 'whether man or woman'.4 points

Or it could be just because they're the most famous members of their respective groups. It boys hang out with other it boys. Not to throw shade at the other 97 liners of Seventeen or Bang Chan but individually they aren't as popular as them. It definitely was not a gay bar. You could see that in the videos filmed inside of it. I was lurking twitter when the rumors first surfaced (way before the Dispatch article) and it actually were antis who invented the "gay club" stuff to attract homophobic hate to them and then their own stans run with that because they liked it better than the idea that the 97 line was at a regular bar to meet girls.4 points

I will be honest about Jungkook. I think he is open-minded. One thing for sure is he is open minded. I think Jungkook is the kind of person to not care what sexuality you are. I think everyone will agree with this. However, I do also think he is bisexual. If he were to be a part of the community it would be bisexual. I know this is a reach but the famous members of the 97 squad [Jaehyun, Eunwoo, Mingyu] that Jungkook is a part of, have all been brought up in the past on this thread with the discussion indicating that they might be Bi. Has anyone ever wondered that why the 97 squad revolves mainly around only these members? I mean, doesn't Seventeen have 2 other members who are 97 liners? Isn't Bang Chan a 97 liner too? I always forget Bang Chan and Jungkook are born in the same year. Maybe Bang Chan is considered a junior because he debuted so much after BTS and Seventeen? Jungkook, Mingyu and Eunwoo are especially close and all 3 names have been brought up here, recently everyone agreed that they see Eunwoo as Bisexual. Could it be that they bonded not only over their age but over other similarities too? Just like how recently someone said Sunoo has a whole network of friends who are around his age and are all probably part of the community. These are just some random thoughts.4 points

This probably doesn’t mean much but there’s this video of bobby saying he much prefers being called pretty rather than handsome. His mannerisms in the video are also sus (stereotypical feminine ig)3 points

I saw that Paris video lol but i Still think he could be bi though These videos of him with peder Elias looks like someone meeting their crush Edit: i posted the same video twice by mistake, Sorry3 points

Apart from rainbow shoes and colored lighting this is very open and out there. Lol. Honestly I've been on this thread for years now and I never imagined an Eunwoo discussion being taken seriously. I think it's hard to imagine Eunwoo as anything but straight because most of his charm comes from him being goodlooking and all the women simping for him.3 points

Well mingyu listens to troye Sivan, Conan Gray and when People tried to suggest his song and MV "bittersweet" with wonwoo was about a love triangle ( when It was clearly gay themed and he and wonwoo's character end up together ) he seemed to look SO upset lol i mean... Look at his eyeroll So i definitely don't think that he has homophobic Tendencies ( i even think that there's a possibility that he's queer himself )3 points

This is 100% true about bi people and come one now, that music taste? There is no way a straight guy listens mostly to a whole bunch of not super mainstream in my opinion gay icons. About Eunwoo I also thinks he is straight, I just think he is not homophobic which when you really want someone to be gay might seem like a lot of evidence lol. Any recent tea about actors?2 points

ah yes definitely a mature concept that necessitated cube kicking out huiyeon and jian /s2 points
-
What do you mean by that? I'm just curious Also, I'm suprised that Paris thing was even brought up here, it was such a nothingburger that knetz didn't even care about it and they are usually super critical and petty, especially when it comes to idols with generally good reputation. I think it's such a reach to say it's some definitive proof, but that's just me. Maybe I'm just biased2 points

I think this is certainly the case for many queer people around the world sadly, especially in countries without legal protections or marriage. I personally still haven't said anything to my parents, and likely won't until I'm certain I find someone I want to be with for a while. It does kind of suck though. Being closeted also makes it harder to event date or meet others, even with online dating. I know it's somewhat common for closeted people to avoid online dating even, for being worried about being found out. Though, logically, if your parents are on Grindr there may be other issues afloat lol. Though, many family members can figure things out with enough context clues. They may not say anything outright, but subtle things like changing their language from "I hope you find a good wife" to "I hope you find someone good to spend your life with" are small, but can be so meaningful. There's also the cultural aspect I think some people forget. Same-sex marriage may be legal in 30+ countries, but misconceptions and expectations take time and effort to fade. In my culture, the concept of arranged blind dates you see so often in KDramas is pretty common. Quite a few cultures are similar, in that every achievement is nice and all, but marriage to a good spouse is still the end goal. The only thing to do is to assert your desire to not be married yet or that you're still looking for the right person. Kind of funny timing, but I'm watching clips from the 2010 family Kdrama "Life is Beautiful" where a gay couple was a big part of the story, and their storyline deals with this exact issue. Parts of their story hit close to home, and it's a really touching portrayal of a same-sex couple on Korean TV.2 points

Vernon is another one that i suspect is queer from seventeen... He listens to Caroline polachek, Charli xcx, fka twigs, Kim petras, rina sawayama, slayyter... Blonde from Frank ocean is his favorite album And also recomended the movie "moonlight" ( this movie is SO good, watch It, lgbt masterpiece ) But I don't think that he's gay.... Maybe bi/pan ???1 point

Some People in this list are just straight in my opinion.... like Bambam for example ( i've never seen any hints, clues or receipts about him not being straight ) And also Jimin and j Hope in the straight list is Just so funny because they're the ones ( along with suga and taehyung ) in BTS that i'm most certain about that are not straight1 point

I found this video of Bobby from Ikon using both female and male pronouns to talk about his ideal type ( at least this is what the subtitles say ) Anyone that understand Korean can confirm that this is really what he meant ? https://twitter.com/ainporram/status/1557905237268221953?t=N5-G4FEBAHNRKm1Prjh6DQ&s=191 point

Checking old posts from this thread and one of them caught my attention: Eric Nam? never suspected him the whole post from the user: ''Defs gay, it's so obvious: Jo Kwon, Eric Nam, Kevin (U-Kiss), Heechul, Daehwi, Ren, Taemin, Key, Jaejoong, Gongchan, Sungjong Gay, but not as obvious: BamBam, Yunho (TVXQ), Changmin (TVXQ), Minho (Shinee), Jin, Cha Eunwoo, Jinyoung (B1A4), Suho, D.O., Lee Hongki, Jinu (Winner), Hoya, Ryeowook Gay, and struggling to accept themselves: V, Baro, Jota (Madtown), Baekho, L, Wooyoung, JB, Wonpil, Song (iKon), Leeteuk, Jihoon (WannaOne) Bisexual, and loving it: Lee Joon, Sehun, Baekhyun, Sungjae, Jae (Day6), Yesung, Jisung (WannaOne) Bisexual, and they hate it: RM, Daesung, Sanha Just living life, if I like you, then I like you: Suga, Jungkook, JR (Nu’est), G-Dragon, Xuimin, Moos, Jinyoung (Got7), Eunhyuk Straight, but would be down to try things: Jimin (BTS), Taecyeon, Doojoon, Jay Park, Jackson, Donghae, Kang Daniel, J-Hope Hella straight, but low key would go in on a guy: Siwon, Bae Jinyoung, Taeyang'' *the user haven't logged in since 20211 point

Maybe ( just maybe ) the three of them + jaehyun are queer besties ??? They were allegedly at a gay bar in itaewon in 2020 in the pandemic right ? But then it was "proven" that It wasn't a gay bar... But MAYBE they really were in a gay bar and their companies did their best to shut down those stories... It's something That we'll never really know lol1 point

I don't think veneers and braces are exactly use in place of each other. Veneers make the size of the teeth even, and the color very white, but they go over a "stump" of the original tooth. If your teeth are not aligned, veneers can't make them align.1 point

I don't think when an idol we generally percieve as gay is "exposed" to be dating a female it automatically means he is straight and we were wrong, he could be bi or again just gay. I lived my whole life in a crazy homophobic environment and as a bi person it was very hard(and still is). I have gay friends who once they started entering their twenties their families kept asking them about their so and started putting pressure on them to date, etc. One of them told me how his mom started aranging blind dates for him and every time they would meet she would ask if he has a girlfriend yet and when he is going to get one, even though he had other achievements or life updates to be congratulated about(She is very openly homophobic so coming out is not an option). Idk, i'm curious if someone else has been in this position how was your experience and what did you do?1 point

This is just silly fun but why am i not surprised that Soobin is Zhang Hao's favorite TXT member (and that he likes TXT), lol wbk that Soobin is the most popular member with gay men in korea so it's just funny at this point (and not zhang hao saying that he especially liked Soobin during game caterers which was basically the soobin simp olympics for male idols lol) Gay recognizes gay and all that1 point

Key listed his favorite dongsaengs in his interview with Bambam and said 1. Renjun because he reminds Key of his younger self 2. Seo Bum-june 3. Ten 4. Bambam because he was there and asked to be 4th 5. Chenle because he'd get pouty if not mentioned edit: the clown? I'm literally just saying what he said in the video. Obviously being friends with a gay person doesn't automatically make someone gay but it's definitely more relevant than eye contact or skinship.1 point

I doubt that this is the main reason. MBLAQ have been dead for so long that probably the fans either left kpop or become fans of another group and ciipher (correct me if i am wrong on this) is not that well know and probably don't have this many fans to make this commotion. Don't get me wrong but I would expect this reactions for a group that is more well known and with a bigger fandom that would attend the festival, not one that is not that known and didnt even attended kcon. i really doubt that ciipher fandom would buy kcon tickets just to do this So i have to conclude that it's most likely new kpop stans that dont know him and like to be disrespectful to older kpop artists/groups (the ones that think idols over 30 years are "hags" and should be retired already ) I stan many old groups and unfortunately is not that shocking to me those reactions turned to 1st and 2nd generation artists. It also dont help that Rain is not anymore that popular with international kpop stans so he probably didn't had that many fans there that was attending for him1 point

I mean yea, but the problem is never her misaligned teeth. It’s the smaller teeth and she has a few gaps in between the sides of her teeth (i’ve always noticed it whenever she smiles LMAO ) which veneers does fix.0 points
