Dang I must be out of touch with the Hollywood scene because all those names surprise me. Especially Hugh Jackman since he’s been married for like 26 years or something. _____ Anwywho, people talk about how no Korean celeb would benefit from coming out, but as people have said, nearly no celebrity in the world really does. People certainly don’t come out to make their lives easier lol. I can see someone coming out to draw more attention to their cause, and to encourage others that it is okay to be queer. That was partly the reason Shinjiro Atae came out not long ago. Coming out would be major, but even celebs openly supporting LGBTQA+ charities and organizations would be cool. That said, Korean celebs, and celebs in Asia in general, have more to lose than celebs in the Western world. When things like protections, domestic partnerships, and marriage become more common, we may see more happen. Who knows though? I didn’t think we’d ever get a gay dating show in Korea and it ended up getting 2 seasons so no one can truly predict what may happen lol11 points

tbh, what is the benefit of k-idols coming out? in their perspective? it satisfies some ppl’s curiosity but what else? esp if they can act how they usually act and are fine without saying anything explicitly6 points

to me i think yeonjun is straight, he just does a lot of fan service he could be bi but he's definitely attracted to women i think soobin and huening kai are the members most likely to be gay, and taehyun seems pretty straight to me, he does give off bi vibes sometimes tho?? but idk beomgyu is either very gay or very straight I can't tell with him at all lol3 points
-
Yeonjun is either very open minded and doesn't mind flirting with the homies because he is confident in his sexuality or bi. No in-between. I think he knows how to tease his fanbase. He knows what they like and what they want to see. If he were to be part of the community it would be Bi.3 points

I think the only reason a idol might come out apart from the what's already been said would be if something really bad happened like a big celebrity being outed or a national headline type hate crime/bullying story could push gay celebrities to come out as a show of solidarity (I could especially see this pushing someone like Jokwon whose very outspoken). But I hope those things won't happen anytime soon.3 points
-
I don’t think any idol will come out any time soon. Maybe if/when gay marriage is legalized a retired idol may come out to announce a marriage, but I can’t see it happening until then. There is zero incentive for a working idol to come out.3 points

I could see that being Kevin Woo since he's moved into Broadway/the American entertainment industry and has also been openly supportive these past few years or the other Kevin if/when The Boyz disbands in 5+ years or so as he mostly has a international fanbase anyways who already see him as gay. Despite Key being pretty obvious and outspoken in some ways in other ways he very much tries to be the traditional Korean filial son plus he's still very conscious of the image of Shinee as a group so I don't see him being the first idol to come out barring very dramatic circumstances.2 points

Wait how do you know all these Hollywood actors are gay? Is there some solid proof? How are you speaking so surely of this? I do remember Kate Winslet talking about knowing gay actors who are scared of coming out but she never really dived too deep. All we know is that Hollywood is not as accepting as it pretends to be. There was a confession from an actor about 10 years ago on reddit where he said he is very famous actor but he is closeted. I will post the link here. If I am being honest I think that actor Jacob Elordi is bi.2 points

there’s also that show with mnet and changmin, as well as that show that came out with bosungjun. its getting a bit more visibility, slowly, slowly if a celebrity did come out, i think it would realistically be an older celebrity. perhaps one where the group’s peak has passed already yoo ah in doing drugs is a big deal there but him being gay didn’t help per say. like why seungri wasn’t getting coffee thrown at him, idk2 points

I've seen people say that and I see most of these but Henry C and Jake G But you're right, if their career is more important to them then they will stay closeted.2 points

Soo what's the thread's opinion on TBZ' Younghoon? Because he's been hanging out with Renjun recently and I'm finding them kinda sus I actually wasn't thinking much of it just with the behind the challenges videos, even if they're really close, because god forbid thinking idols can't be friends and must automatically be dating. But after SM deleted both of their Baggy Jeans challenge videos I was like 'huh... why would they do that?'. It has been reuploaded but it seemed weird. And I still don't think they're dating dating, but there's some vibes yk. So I wanted to know if Younghoon is suspected and is he usually that clingy?2 points

I know I'll lose my mind if Mingyu touches his teeth. Veneers are so ugly because they RARELY do it correctly on these idols. They ALWAYS have these massive chompers when they smile.2 points

I think we should keep an eye on Anton and wonbin from riize ( Anton mostly ), that boy screams fruitness https://twitter.com/taromarklee/status/1702663128096583935?t=1ggLdUYbWu8R6kp1sNzLZQ&s=19 https://twitter.com/lee_antonriize/status/1702701777207095698?t=m8RNMmDC1ntRrw-cEY6mtA&s=191 point

Cute song. Nothing spectacular but good. I know people didn't want the girls separated, but if they stayed as they were in such a big group then they wouldn't be able to shine as they're doing now. They'll meet again in the future. The video's ending got me.1 point

Well... I don't think that because an idol is foreign the chances of him coming out gets bigger, even here in the non-asian countries ( that lgbt is way much acceptable ) we have celebrities that don't come out Everyone in Hollywood know that Hugh Jackman, Bradley Cooper, Henry cavill, tom cruise, Sam heughan, Jake gyllenhaal.... Are gay ( their pr teams have put them in several bearding situations and fake straight relationships ) and they haven't came out till this day ( and probably never Will ) Even Ian McKellen, amber Heard and Kate winslet talked about It So If there's all this pressure for western celebrities to not come out ( some of them even might not accept their sexualities ) then imagine in korea and asian countries1 point

Personally, I think Yunho is very likely gay. I accept that I could be wrong, but there is something about him that draws me towards that conclusion. Even though he had his recent scandal with the brothel, I legitimately think he may have been telling something approaching the truth about his reason for being there. I, as a gay man, have found myself in places I normally wouldn't go to for my friends. No, I do not wish to elaborate on the latter point. As for who I think is gay in k-pop, I'll just list who has my attention. Shinee - Key; Minho has been giving me a few raised eyebrows lately. Wonho. ATEEZ - San, Hongjoong; I'm not entirely sure about the others, but I do feel something about Mingi Super Junior - Donghae; Heechul is a special case, being that he could in fact be gay but he could also be that special type of Asian pretty-boy who is (was, in his case- he has admitted as much), extremely narcisstic and used his looks to get things from other people. EXO - Sehun; I'm unsure about the rest; it's funny though because people used to swear up and down Baekhyun was gay back in the day. TxT - I've only recently started to listen to them, but Soobin right away felt he might be. TVXQ - Yunho; as I've said before, I'm aware of his previous scandal but I still have a strong belief he might be. OnlyOneOf - it might be hard to tell since they've strongly adopted the BL concept, but I think Rie and Yoojung probably are; the other two that I feel could be are Nine and KB. I used to listen to/follow a few other boy groups in the past but I haven't really kept up with them. Groups like BEAST/Highlight (Gikwang was incredibly popular among other gay men), VIXX (I'm surprised people think Leo is gay, maybe some things have happened in the years since), Got7, and a few others. Anyway, those were who I thought may be gay. I certainly could be wrong.1 point

you saw yunho’s massive boner and bulge on stage and wanted him gay real bad its okay bud i’ve been there (not yunho)1 point

Usually I don't think much about idols with pride flags because they're thrown at the stage and they end up picking it up for a few secs but this... Ningning was the one to go for the flag and she seems to hesitate for a split second if she should really do it, it's very telling. She also had the right side up, could be a coincidence or luck but I used to think all Aespa members were straight but maybe not so much anymore... after the stuff with her model masc friend and now this. Didn't Ning also like the sapphic couple from that k-drama that got famous?1 point

Pretty much all the names in the top 20 were expected. It's impressive how quickly Yujin became the favorite for 4th gen but she's really that attractive. By the way people were speculating on the other thread which male idols often receive confessions from other same-sex idols and for 4th gen girlies, Yujin, Karina and Ryujin definitely must be the ones who get the most attention from LGBT female idols.1 point

wait so at this point who in SVT hasn't had veneers done? i hope they have access to top notch dentists because stories i've heard stories about people regret getting veneers. i just don't get it, is it peer pressure or what? also about kpopprocedure, do you guys think sometimes they go a bit much with the speculations (about what kind of PS were done on the idol)? like idk if the idols just got really good subtle work done that i can't really tell but kpopprocedure has hawk eye that can see thru all of that, or if they make mistakes with their assumption sometimes.1 point

I researched a bit on this acutane nose thing, because i was very sceptical from the first time I saw it on TikTok. I am no medical professional, so I can only give my two cents on what I read (and what I understood from that ). So as I understand, it is mostly a temporal change as accutane has an effect on how much oil the glands secrete, so from what I understand, the glands can shrink as the oil production/secretion decreases. The other thing is, that this doctor said, is that it can thin out your skin (???). Now this is the part that makes less sense to me, so there is a chance I misunderstood something. So like your nose can be big from the bones, and I guess more "fleshy" based on skin thickness - and bone structure can be modified by plastic surgeons, skin thickness can't. The article said to think of it as changeing a padded coat to a lighter jacket - the underlying structure will be more visible. From what I understand retinoids can result in the same change, which I would think more likely in K-pop idols case, compared to accutane. Nonetheless, this doctor/article said that this effect is most likely temporary. And why I was originally sceptical about this thing in the first place is: I had quite the bulbous nose when I was in highschool (I would say from anywhere 12-13 years to like my 20s). And now, at 25, my nose is kind of different. I would not say, it is an entirely different nose, as the bones did not change, the structure is almost identical, but it looks more defined / less bulbous on my face. Now, I have no explanation for this, I don't know if my nose shrinked or my face grew, but all in all it is less disturbing, and more "harmonious". Funny thing is, when I got into kpop, I was sure that I would like to have a nose job, but now I am happy, I never touched it, while it is not perfect, it looks pretty okay, and I think it suits me. This is why I am a bit sad for young ppl to have ps, because I feel like they don't give a chace for their features to develop properly, so like they will never know how their original nose would have looked like, if this makes sense.1 point

As a gay man in his 30s maybe I'm stuck in the mindset of any representation being good representation. I remember being a gay teen in the early 2000s desperate to see ANY gay characters in movies and television. I think it's harmful to fall into the mindset that only out artists can explore these themes, because the artists sexuality is not our business (look at what happened to that kid from Heartstopper), and the chronically online commenters who attack these young actors will only dissuade people who are closeted from taking those kinds of roles in the future. Who knows how many brilliant performances we miss out on because young entertainers are scared to be viewed as LGBT or harassed and pressured into revealing their sexuality. For OnlyOneOf specifically, I could care less what any of the individual member's sexuality is, I'm sure its a mix, but again, it's irrelevant because their representation of the gay community, specifically in these recent solo tracks, has been very much positive. So I am all for it.1 point
