  1. TVXQ's Yunho? The one that got caught at a brothel during the pandemic and tried to flee the scene when the police barged in? Yeah, I don't think he's gay...

  2. Yeah that was an interesting thread. Honestly her stance seems to be a mixture of 2 & 3 - this line in particular is basically identical to the hannam man discourse Gyuvin's been hit with before: I like Gyuvin a lot and personally don't think much of his comment beyond it being a joke, but I do kinda understand the knetz who are taking it poorly. Not to get too off topic but I've experienced nice-seeming guys say alarming dogwhistle-y things and then go back to acting nice, and it's disorienting. It becomes hard to trust anything they do or say, even when most of their actions are totally innocuous. And my country isn't nearly as homophobic as Korea - I can imagine that queer Koreans are especially sensitive to the nuances of Gyuvin's comment and its larger context, even if he likely didn't mean any harm by it. (Also lol @ so many of the QRTs deflecting the commentary by pointing out the account is a Haobin RPSer... never change, zeroses) If nothing else, this incident has 1000% confirmed my already-held belief that Gyuvin is straight lmao and the ship-baiting with Ricky is pure fanservice. Ricky himself continues to elude me. At least they seem like they're having fun??

  4. I have zero context for this clip, but being raised in America, Anton would probably know the meaning of the limp wrist gesture. This is likely nothing, but he’s been mentioned a time or two now. One to keep an eye on as we see more from the group.

  9. Key has been linked to other male entertainers more than most other 'obvious' idols. He seems like the type to initiate a lot and is somewhat intimidating but he's also obviously a very magnetic and life of the party type person so I think a lot of people would approach him as well. He's also in the sweet spot of having all the typical 'gay' interests/references but not being super femme the way a lot of gay guys don't like compared to like Woonggi or Jokwon. I also think Taeyong from nct would be popular and Astro Moonbin always had a ton of male fans probably more than Eunwoo even. I also think current suspicious line in zb1 (Jiwoong, Hao, Hanbin, Taerae) would all get attention as well I mean Jiwoong already had everyone throwing themselves at him and Woonggi was obsessed with Taerae.

  10. this falls into number 2 category but i think it's worth reading. I agree that it's mostly just 1 and 3 type of fans being fussy about him and his supposed hannam tendency, though at the same time i don't think he's really calling out wakeone for banning coming out, it's probably just him making a dumb joke spontaneously.

  11. Hello everyone, I introduce myself : I'm French. Recently (a few month), I discovered the Yunjae couple and I fell in love with them. So, i was a Yunjae Shipper but not anymore. However, Jaejoong is my bias and i'm still very curious about Yunho's sexual orientation. Regarding Jaejoong, from the beginning, I was a lot of doubt about on the fact that he was gay, but i was not sure. But after readding Kremlindust analysis and everything that followed after (Jaejoong jocking about the fact being gay, etc.) I am 99% sure that Jaejoong is gay. Concerning Yunho, At first I was expecting that he was maybe bi or straight. But after reading this topic, I was convinced that he was undoubtedly gay. Why ? 1) because of the way he's been behaving with others guys (hug by the back with Jaejoong and Donghae, and maybe many others ? Also, he often likes hold hands with men, i saw many videos where he was very affectionate with man) 2) because of the fact that not have a girlfriend doesn't seem to disturb him (cf, interview with Changmin when Yunho said that he prefers see his friends after work, rather than finding a girlfriend) 3) because of the way of he dancing (there is many many gifts where we can see that). Damn, his dance moves seems SO gay ! 4) because he always seems uninterested in any woman (i saw many videos which seems to confirm this) But, despite all these facts, I recently have doubt about Yunho's sexual orientation, and i'm not sure anymore that he is gay, because of his scandal that appears in 2021 when he was discovered in a bar with women. Yunho said once that his ideal type was an actrice (i don't remeber her name, sorry) and that he saw her movies more 50 times (he seemed to really love her !) Also, Yunho often stated that when he is in love with a women, he reacts in a cold way and refuses to show his interest or his feelings before knowing the woman well. So, it's possible that in first side, Yunho seems to be uninterested by women but in reality, that's not the case, it's just that he doesn't like show his feelings. More ever, i heard that the skinship is very well accepted with men, but not with women, and Yunho said many times that he didn't want scandal . That's why Yunho is so discreet about his private life. But finally, I wonder why Yunho is still not married despite his age, if he is bi or straight ? Do you have any other views about Yunho's sexual orientation ? Are there still Jaejoong or Yunho shipper here? Thank you for reading me

  13. Rather than saying that that's a better translation of the clip I would say it's just a different translation and in my opinion the one that's going around sounds more correct. In this translation the whole part about 회사에서 I disagree with. Even the original korean post that was made to spread this interpreted it as the company telling them not to come out. I haven't seen the full video but I assume the clip isn't edited to take out some words or anything. Personally I think the clip is funny and Gyuvin to me seems like the biggest ally (edit: or who knows, maybe he's queer, none of us truly know)

  15. You're welcome ! I have to say I didn't watch those videos so I can't comment on that. About Yunho emphasizing that he's manly despite being sensitive, I don't really see it as something pointing out to being LGBT because many straight guys have a fragile masculinity and fear being perceived as weak so they tend to overcompensate with a "manly" attitude. Tbh I don't have a bias in DBSK/JYJ as I never actually stanned them, I just enjoyed their music and watched some of their variety stuff. But I do like Junsu's voice the most in DBSK/JYJ. It's just several things about Jaejoong through the years : his old friendship with Hong Seok Cheon, that predebut picture of him kissing a guy, his cover of a song by a Japanese gay singer (and I think the song was written for his lover), etc. Also, I know it's not a great explanation but it's really just vibes. Though I'm not 100% sure Jaejoong is gay since he did have dating rumors with women and since in that infamous recording of him hitting sasaeng he's complaining about not being able to get a girlfriend because of their harassment. But I think he's probably at least bisexual. Oh I didn't know that user, looks like she did a whole study on him lol. Thank you very much for the link, I'll read that later !

  16. Hi ! Thank you very much for your reply. I edited my post. But in the english dictionnary, they define it this way, that's why i was used the words "orientation gender rather than sexual orientation". Anyway, what also made me feel out about Yunho’s sexual orientation was his reactions when we discussed the "gay" subject during the interviews. He panics quite easily when he is suspected of being gay, which is quite disconcerting. I remember a video interview with Shangmin where the interviewer asked if the girls interested him, and he seemed very embarassed and nervous, like he had to hide something. And there is an another interview where he said that he is sentimental, but he is Manly also. I find this answer a quite weird, why add the fact that he is "manly" ? Like we can easily doubt of that...So this gives us the impression he often seems insecure about his sexuality. I agree with that. I know others Kpop star that dance in the gay way, but despite that they are straight. So, it doesn't prove something. I didn't Know that, but make sense. Does Jaejoong is your bias too ? May I ask what makes you think Jaejoong is gay? Kremlindust was a old member of that topic, she did a remarkable analysis of Jaejoong. Personally, it had completely convinced me that Jaejoong is most likely gay. I give you the page where you can read her analysis (it extends over 5 pages!). Enjoy it! https://onehallyu.com/topic/64-which-male-idols-do-you-think-are-gay/page/65/#comment-687097

  17. My opinion about BTS ( even though no one asked lol ) Well i think this will cause a little controversy Taehyung - there's this thing with him and jennie but i still think That he's queer, maybe he's bi or pan... He has already worn pride clothes before, is obsessed with call me by your name, and honestly he pings as hell too lol Jin - i think he's just straight honestly J Hope - bi or just a straight Ally Namjoon - bisexual... There were those rumours about him and that other Guy, has used the bisexual colours in one of his MVs... Suga - bi/pan... His verse in cypher pt 3 And this is the controversy i was talking about... Yes... I do believe that jungkook and jimin used to have something going on Do i think they were dating and all this stuff like these Crazy shippers like to think ? No Do i think they possibly hooked up or experimented with eachother at some point ? Why not ? There was that whole ear suck thing, and It was not the angle, jungkook literally sucked his ear, It is very clear in the video, this goes Beyond fanservice lol imagine someone that you're not intimate to come and suck your ear, you feel repulsed just thinking about It, and jimin didn't show any rejection or repulse to that , so maybe that wasn't the First time this happened There was that time jungkook showed up with a hikey on his neck after a night out of drinking with jimin and they gave the most ridiculous excuses lol So that being said i would say: Jimin: bisexual/pansexual leaning towards Men Jungkook: bisexual/pansexual leaning towards women ( since he has shown genuine attraction for women )

  18. Hi. I think you should use the word sexual orientation instead of gender orientation. Gender identity and sexual identity are two different topics and it could lead to confusion. I'm not a native English speaker either so it's really normal for us to make mistakes though ! As for DBSK, you said you discovered them only a few months ago and I think that could explain your doubts. People who have been Kpop fans for some time know that SM Entertainment has a habit of creating pairings inside their groups to boost fans' support/interest and they create many contents around those pairings. I'm sure you already know about the drama DBSK filmed where Yunho and Jaejoong had a sort of romantic storyline ? So yeah, it's very hard for me to believe any ship from SM is genuine because they're kinda known for ship fanservice between members in Kpop. Other Kpop companies also push ships but I don't think it's done as strongly as in SM groups (with perhaps the exception of Big Hit's boygroups). Now, about Yunho and Jaejoong as individuals, I do believe Jaejoong is probably not straight. But as someone else already said above, I don't think Yunho is gay. His room salon scandal is honestly the only proof you need. Him being affectionate with men isn't really strong evidence of anything because many idols do lots of skinship (both because it's cultural and because it's expected of them as idols). Same for the preferring to hang out with friends than finding a girlfriend answer, most idols (regardless of their actual sexual orientation) tend to avoid discussing that topic because of their possessive fans. About the way he dances, maybe it's just me but mannerisms alone aren't enough evidence. I mean, many on this thread used to believe Joshua from Seventeen was gay because of his demeanor alone and he turned out to have a girlfriend. I agree that Yunho looking "uninterested" in women could be just him not showing his feelings. Also, again he's an idol and it's kinda their job to act devoted to fans and he knows some fans wouldn't like for him to flirt with girls publicly. Finally, being married or not at his age is also not that relevant. Many 2nd gen idols still aren't married yet, including the ones who are in known longterm relationships with the opposite sex (like Sooyoung from SNSD and Jessica Jung). It could be that Yunho didn't marry because of his career or monetary reasons, who knows.

  20. That's an interesting question that I don't think has ever been asked before. People have posted about surveys of Korean gay males in general but nothing about actual other gay males in the entertainment industry. Whether or not they receive confessions depends on how approachable they (the idol) seem to be to a probably not out gay man. I know DO was super popular with Korean gay men and handsome more masc idols like Shownu and 2PM's Taecyeon. Speaking of ZB1 and Jiwoong, what happened on Boys Planet with him and the other male trainees confessing to him felt so fanservice-y for the most part. But there might have been some true feelings here and there ofc. lol My guesses: Wonho, Mingyu, NCT Jaehyun, Showhu, Baekho and Jiwoong ofc.

  22. Welcome to the third round-up of Radio. As previously said, by the end of each week a host will endeavour to respond to questions and answers made during that week. Occasionally you might come across trivial rants on topics. I hope you enjoy today's session. Radio host: @Lee Thank you for joining in to the third session of Radio. This week, I drew reference to the Barbie movie and asked two questions that came from my viewing of that. The first question I asked was: It can be quite hard to answer this question, and it depends on how you choose to answer it. I've purposefully left it open-ended. I might be in agreement with the responses this week in that I cannot quickly point to someone within my immediate circle who has directly impacted my actions and given me the "strength", if you will, to use it to do my best every day. I would say, though, that people have inspired me in smaller ways. I will admit that my interactions with some of these people are varied, and in some ways, valuable, although it could also just be my own perception of it. I guess another way of approaching this question is from a lense of encouragement. I would say that in my immediate circle, my family, especially my mum, reminds me regularly to "work hard" and stay determined. That is not to say, of course, that others have not encouraged me in the same way. I would argue similarly that some people's actions, albeit indirect, have also motivated me to reconsider what I'm doing, and that in turn makes me rethink about what it means to "do your best". Personally, I don't find myself getting inspired much by idols, although it is sometimes interesting to read about that sort of dynamic. Idols often open up about various topics such as mental health, or show wit and humour as a way to cope with often unwarranted criticism. In some ways, because they're public figures, I can empathise with them, but because I don't know them personally, I tend to accept what they say as being general advice, or giving "another perspective" if you will. I would agree that being able to love yourself is a good way to "lift your game" and to also boost your spirit and morale. Easier said than done, of course, but just something to send to ourselves as a reminder. I've kind of answered in part for what I wanted to say with the next question, but let's deal with it anyway: I do agree that self-motivation is key, and I agree similarly that being able to "keep yourself together", especially in situations when things quickly become overwhelming, is also something that gives you the drive to continue. Thinking about the "big picture" can help because it orients you towards a specific goal; and "benefits" and "satisfaction", yes, can give you the much-needed push to go further. Speaking of "improvements", I would say it is natural to feel discouraged when things do not go your way. I personally struggle with this as well, because I tend to set "higher standards" for myself personally. While growing up, I was constantly told that I had to meet a "benchmark" in order to be able to make it somewhere. I recall the pressure being quite immense. In retrospect, I think many of the things that were said could have been worded more nicely. Things certainly didn't have to be "tough". So if you find yourself in a situation like that, try to look for a "silver lining", because chances are that others might be struggling similarly with it. Everyone does follow their own path in life. Everyone has a "journey", and some of them may even have a "destination". I wouldn't say there isn't a point in comparing your progress in life to someone else. It is good to see what others might be doing, because that might somehow also allow you to think about how you might want to go about approaching certain things. What is unhelpful, however, is dwelling on what others are doing, at the detriment of your own capacity to succeed. Regrets? Yeah, try not to live a life with regrets, but do make wise choices. Don't do something so stupid that it creates a feeling of regret. If in doubt, ask. It is important to accept what others have to say — because some are well-intentioned — but I guess the main takeaway is that your personal experiences are valid, and that the only standard that ultimately matters is the one that you choose to apply on to yourself. In other words, when looking at yourself, it is important to see that "your best" is yours. Thank you for joining in today's session. The next set of questions for Radio will be posted soon to the thread. So be sure to check that out if you haven't already.

  23. I remember a time when idols would wear concealer on the outside of their lips to make them smaller, and idols with really thick lips would even get weird comments saying they "look black".

  24. While I agree kpop procedures can go overboard with what she thinks people have done, I find the photos she selects very helpful because she always shows photos with a similar expression and angle, as well as cropped close ups. It makes subtle differences easier to spot and avoids confusion from simple angle and expression changes.

  32. not ps but no wonder some idols touch up their features when fans comment stuff like this? i mean i guess in some cultures it's normal to point out physical stuff on others. i'm asian and usually older relatives do this quite a lot. this just threw me off a bit because their fans are usually the same age as me and our generation normally knows to just shut up lol i mean to be fair they probably did not mean it in an ill-mannered way, but for some people, little comments like this could build up or trigger insecurities, especially for those under the constant scrutiny of the spotlight. but kudos to jungwon though, he seems relatively unbothered by it (as he should) and even played along without being ashamed of his lips. idk i just liked how he handled it without being flustered because there's really nothing to be flustered about, especially now with the sea of lip fillers among idols. the "technique" is also funny and safe. since they saw him doing it too, it's something his fans can just copy instead of going straight to the doctors. i do think jungwon is one of the idols who has a silent confidence about them and i admire him for it. as far as i can remember, there's no set concensus about him on this forum either? so he's still considered as probably natural. i hope the comment won't affect him badly in any way.

  33. IMO there are basically three camps of knetz upset at Gyuvin: Homophobes who don't want him so much as hinting at gayness in relation to ZB1 Pro-LGBT people who feel he's making fun of the struggles of queer guys in Korea (this is a pretty small contingent lol) People who are pissed at him for supposedly being a "hannam man" again. They see his joke as the kinda joke a middle schooler would make in the back of the class and snicker at. Very no homo gamer fratboy vibes. This ties back to the complicated situation re: feminism and misogyny in Korea, and how a lot of Korean women in particular are primed to be extremely wary of guys who make comments like that. + trolls and antis who don't care but are using this as an opportunity to drag him or ZB1 as a whole. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if this keeps happening, bc he's pretty unfiltered and now he has a reputation for being hannam man adjacent. So antis are going to keep reading the things he says in the worst possible light and reinforcing their beliefs. It's not his fault tho and if it wasn't this, they would just use something else as a cudgel against him. Anyway good for him for saying it Whether or not Wakeone actually told them that explicitly, we all know that's the company policy considering what they did to the TO1 girlies last year. If his comments make their management squirm, great! I just hope they don't punish him with another extended SM break.

  34. I still can't believe he said that like..................... He's insane and unhinged fr, and Taerae's reaction, i just can't Edit: Even if Gyuvin said it as a joke i do think WakeOne definitely said this or something in line with this to the guys though, wbk that they're a homophobic company. They're the company that kicked out Woongki and Sungmin from the group that they rightfully earned their spot in through a survival show because they didn't agree with their more feminine image, after all. I hope he doesn't get in trouble fr

  35. I don’t get any queer vibes from either of them. Maaaaybe Ricky a little, but Gyuvin seems straight as hell. This whole dynamic is giving me “Hey, bro, wouldn’t it be funny to mess with people by calling each other boyfriend?”. That, coupled with the fact they have seen how other members have gotten more popular by being shipped with other members, so from a career standpoint it makes sense for them to create a ship of their own. They seem like besties having fun and capitalizing on their friendship to grow their careers, a win-win situation for them.

  37. Perhaps this is an unpopular opinion but I actually don't think it's a problem at all that idols "queerbait" as long as they are respectful about gay people in real life (aka, outside their idol personas). Siwon's case in particular I find distasteful because he's a jerk and has said pretty bigoted stuff about the LGBT. But beyond something like that, man, when Irene and Seulgi are all over each other in an MV do you think I care that they could be straight? They've shown time and time again they are supportive of the community, so who cares? Queerbait-y fanservice can be sexy and fun, just like when idols flirt with the audience/camera; it's for fun, it's not real, and it doesn't have to be. If Jeno and Haechan are doing a cute little homoerotic interaction as part of their performance then good for them. As long as they are not a-holes and homophobic I don't think it's an issue at all.
