  1. As this tweet suggests, I’m choosing to believe Gyuvin is using his straight privilege to be an ally for his other members

  2. not ps but no wonder some idols touch up their features when fans comment stuff like this? i mean i guess in some cultures it's normal to point out physical stuff on others. i'm asian and usually older relatives do this quite a lot. this just threw me off a bit because their fans are usually the same age as me and our generation normally knows to just shut up lol i mean to be fair they probably did not mean it in an ill-mannered way, but for some people, little comments like this could build up or trigger insecurities, especially for those under the constant scrutiny of the spotlight. but kudos to jungwon though, he seems relatively unbothered by it (as he should) and even played along without being ashamed of his lips. idk i just liked how he handled it without being flustered because there's really nothing to be flustered about, especially now with the sea of lip fillers among idols. the "technique" is also funny and safe. since they saw him doing it too, it's something his fans can just copy instead of going straight to the doctors. i do think jungwon is one of the idols who has a silent confidence about them and i admire him for it. as far as i can remember, there's no set concensus about him on this forum either? so he's still considered as probably natural. i hope the comment won't affect him badly in any way.

  3. Which male idols do y'all think are popular among LGBT men within the Korean entertainment industry? Like receive confessions often? From Seventeen I can definitely see it being Jeonghan and Mingyu. Mingyu seems to have many fanboys From NCT I can see Jaemin, Jaehyun, Jeno, Ten being popular In Exo its obviously DO. He's a dude magnet. But at one point Baekhyun, Kai and Sehun also had many fanboys. Remember the infamous Chinese fanboy who admitted to having a wet dream about Sehun? lol

  4. Haha not Gyuvin lowkey confirming they have queer members and have been told specifically not to come out. Im guessing kfans think that the groups reputation will suffer if people think they are the gaggle of gays that they are? Who knows.

  5. I still can't believe he said that like..................... He's insane and unhinged fr, and Taerae's reaction, i just can't Edit: Even if Gyuvin said it as a joke i do think WakeOne definitely said this or something in line with this to the guys though, wbk that they're a homophobic company. They're the company that kicked out Woongki and Sungmin from the group that they rightfully earned their spot in through a survival show because they didn't agree with their more feminine image, after all. I hope he doesn't get in trouble fr

  6. I don’t get any queer vibes from either of them. Maaaaybe Ricky a little, but Gyuvin seems straight as hell. This whole dynamic is giving me β€œHey, bro, wouldn’t it be funny to mess with people by calling each other boyfriend?”. That, coupled with the fact they have seen how other members have gotten more popular by being shipped with other members, so from a career standpoint it makes sense for them to create a ship of their own. They seem like besties having fun and capitalizing on their friendship to grow their careers, a win-win situation for them.

  7. Hi, can I just say hi to the mods here? It's been a while since my last post and I just got back online here and I noticed it's so quiet here. I miss the time when this forum used to be lively.

  8. Yes! I've always found it surprising how directly people can question idols on their looks?! Like when people straight up tell them at fansigns that their hair is too long, that it doesn't look good like that and they should cut it. I think it's because of all that parasocial stuff -- that perception of closeness to them that either leads to a sense of friendship/family-like relationship where you can just say things like that or, otherwise, something that is scarily close to a sense of entitlement or ownership towards them. Of course their looks are a big part of their career, but hairstyles and facial features are their bodies, not a stage costume. Sometimes I think the reason why people end up cultivating such a (one-sided) relationship with the idol and make such comments is because they consume so much of the idol's contents all the time and they forget that there is a person underneath the makeup and performance persona, and that performance-mode is actually just a part of (and not the entirety of) the idol's life.

  9. I agree, i always end up praising their ability to find good comparison pictures because i could literally never lol! It's one of the hardest parts about making ps related posts imo, and they kill it everytime in that regard

  10. While I agree kpop procedures can go overboard with what she thinks people have done, I find the photos she selects very helpful because she always shows photos with a similar expression and angle, as well as cropped close ups. It makes subtle differences easier to spot and avoids confusion from simple angle and expression changes.

  11. i don't quite get why homophobic fans would be mad at him for mentioning this ban because they wouldn't want their fav kpop idol to come out or be gay in general anyway, so gyuvin acknowledging that there is a rule that aligns with their own opinions should be something that satisfies them and isn't seen as controversial if being homophobic isn't bad in their eyes. i just don't get why are they mad at him for mentioning it if they want this, you know what i mean? i also feel like this is a rule that companies lay out regardless of if they know a trainee is gay or not (i remember holland said something about how he used to be in a company but he wanted to come out and they didn't want that) so people saying that this is him hinting that there are gay members doesn't add up to me, he'd probably make this joke regardless of there being gay members in the group.

  17. disgusting vile trash should be in jail don't forget that women, children and elderly rights in Korea are one of the worst in the whole world and the incels there voted the current misogynist president Yoon Suk-yeol who denied that structural inequality between men and women exists and who threatened to abolish the Ministry of Family and Gender Equality. No wonder that men can continue do to horrible things in that country, even against men, without any repercussions

  18. Personally i think they go a bit overboard at times. Even if there's a slight bit of doubt about something i do think they tend to say the idol has gotten it done, even if they're not sure at all. I often disagree about 2-3 things that they list out when the list is excessively long (again, for example with Sung Hanbin, i don't think he's gotten a chin implant and i don't think he's done the lower blepharoplasty, and things like the lip lift i'm not sure about), not as much for shorter lists. With that said, overall i think they tend to be fairly accurate. People shouldn't take their word as gospel, but generally they tend to speculate in the right direction imo and so i think they're a good baseline to use. Then again, i sometimes can't see some things that they or many here are convinced an idol has gotten done so i don't really trust my own opinion all the time as i'm not good at catching very subtle work.

  35. This is neither here nor there but since we're discussing this friend group again i'll just mention it: When i posted about this group a couple of weeks ago i expressed some confusion as to how Sung Hanbin and Ichan got close (ichan used to do SHanbin's hair on boys planet, and he did aegyo towards Shanbin after one of his BP performances lol), as well as curiosity about whether SHanbin knows Sunoo or not, and i just found out that they attend the same university (DIMA; Dong-Ah Institute of Media and Arts) and are in the same year, both entered in 2020. So that kind of thickens the plot but also clears some things up. Ichan is currently taking a gap year but they attended together the previous 2 years. They are in different departments (ichan's department focuses on producing while hanbin is in the kpop department), though their classes seem to overlap somewhat. So i would bet my money that this is how they know each other originally, even if before BP it was just a case of know about each other. Which makes it interesting to speculate about how SHanbin met Sunoo (if he knows him, he can also just know about him of course and greeted him because they run in the same cicles now (although it was a pretty warm greeting, they took each others hand)), and if he knows him since earlier or got introduced to him during BP. Idk, i just found this interesting. Kpop, music and the entertainment industries are small spaces for sure

  36. It was revealed recently that Sunoo has a network of idol-adjacent friends who've been brought up here before. Off the top of my head: Jeong Ichan (aka Jaebeom from I-Land, individual trainee) Oh Sungmin (ex-TO1) Jung Hojin (Boys Planet, individual trainee) Park Hanbin (EVNNE) Maybe Sung Hanbin (ZB1)? Their circles overlap and they greeted each other at KCON Japan... unclear + maybe others I'm forgetting. They're pretty much all trainees or individual artists tho, and not generally super famous, at least as of now. But they are all around the same age lol I think large age gaps can be a hard barrier for idols to overcome, particularly if you're trying to make friends you plan to share intimate personal secrets with.

  37. I think that Seulgi and Irene should've had another comeback because, "Monster" was a cultural reset. Also their b-side "Diamond" from that album went diamond in my household. The choreography for "Naughty" is also very iconic. Hopefully they get another comeback because during stage performances they were even able to match their chemistry, and this unit seemed to portray a more sultry side to Red Velvet. Pristin V is another group that comes to mind but I guess that wasn't really a unit but the remaining members at the that point IIRC, but "Get It" is such a memorable song.
