I don’t get any queer vibes from either of them. Maaaaybe Ricky a little, but Gyuvin seems straight as hell. This whole dynamic is giving me “Hey, bro, wouldn’t it be funny to mess with people by calling each other boyfriend?”. That, coupled with the fact they have seen how other members have gotten more popular by being shipped with other members, so from a career standpoint it makes sense for them to create a ship of their own. They seem like besties having fun and capitalizing on their friendship to grow their careers, a win-win situation for them.

i watched this live when it was happening and heard gyuvin say "coming out" and then the laughing and thought "there's no way in hell he's referring to what i think he's referring to" (despite the fact that i know you flat out say the english words "coming out" when referring to the action in korean) but now i see this translation... my god i was actually worried when hearing it because i thought he might be being homophobic but it doesn't sound that bad? like he kind of just made a dark joke about reality, though i do think gyuvin is straight lmao. i haven't seen it but i assume the kfans are mad at the acknowledgement of possible gayness since lots of them are very into the y/n, boyfriend thing and have, for example, gotten mad at hanbin's predebut flamboyant dance videos being shared as well as the members acknowledging his "call me mother" dance

I don't even know what to say, only probation when the perpetrator admited to mutiple rapes, this barely qualifies as justice. I hope the victim is doing well and has a strong support system, I can't imagine what they're going through.

Personally i think they go a bit overboard at times. Even if there's a slight bit of doubt about something i do think they tend to say the idol has gotten it done, even if they're not sure at all. I often disagree about 2-3 things that they list out when the list is excessively long (again, for example with Sung Hanbin, i don't think he's gotten a chin implant and i don't think he's done the lower blepharoplasty, and things like the lip lift i'm not sure about), not as much for shorter lists. With that said, overall i think they tend to be fairly accurate. People shouldn't take their word as gospel, but generally they tend to speculate in the right direction imo and so i think they're a good baseline to use. Then again, i sometimes can't see some things that they or many here are convinced an idol has gotten done so i don't really trust my own opinion all the time as i'm not good at catching very subtle work.

IMO there are basically three camps of knetz upset at Gyuvin: Homophobes who don't want him so much as hinting at gayness in relation to ZB1 Pro-LGBT people who feel he's making fun of the struggles of queer guys in Korea (this is a pretty small contingent lol) People who are pissed at him for supposedly being a "hannam man" again. They see his joke as the kinda joke a middle schooler would make in the back of the class and snicker at. Very no homo gamer fratboy vibes. This ties back to the complicated situation re: feminism and misogyny in Korea, and how a lot of Korean women in particular are primed to be extremely wary of guys who make comments like that. + trolls and antis who don't care but are using this as an opportunity to drag him or ZB1 as a whole. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if this keeps happening, bc he's pretty unfiltered and now he has a reputation for being hannam man adjacent. So antis are going to keep reading the things he says in the worst possible light and reinforcing their beliefs. It's not his fault tho and if it wasn't this, they would just use something else as a cudgel against him. Anyway good for him for saying it Whether or not Wakeone actually told them that explicitly, we all know that's the company policy considering what they did to the TO1 girlies last year. If his comments make their management squirm, great! I just hope they don't punish him with another extended SM break.

coming back from the dead to speak about this. to be fair if you're a zerose you ( in general not you op) would know that gyuvin is a very very affectionate person to the point his irl friends complained about it. If i were you I wouldn't think too much about gyuvin and ricky's friendship. in both ways. I genuinely think that both of them are straight, but are very close and share a deep connection, i think they might have a boyfriend joke between them going on but that's it, i genuinely don't think that they would go as far as planning to play up to that extent their friendship to fan serve. they look sincere whenever they mention the other. as for gyuvin's joke, i don't understand how this could possibly pass as homophobic? it was just as much as a joke as a jab to wakeone, that company is clearly homophobic just as the others and the fact that the group has queer members in it it isn't hard to imagine that they could have really forbidden them to one, come out as gyuvin said, and two, for the queer members to lessen their interactions. If any one could have access to their past so was wakeone's staff. Not naming anyone for the sake of not starting ship discourses but it's been known on both international and korean sides that something's going with the company about it. also i've seen both reasons why korean fans are mad, some think that gyuvin talks/jokes too much and too freely ( it's not his first "scandal" like this) and the other is because some are aware about the possibility that there are queer members and by mentioning this, he's kinda confirming that wakeone had to specify this rules to them, thus making it easy for homophobic fans to turn their back on jebewon.

While I agree kpop procedures can go overboard with what she thinks people have done, I find the photos she selects very helpful because she always shows photos with a similar expression and angle, as well as cropped close ups. It makes subtle differences easier to spot and avoids confusion from simple angle and expression changes.
