  3. I think that Seulgi and Irene should've had another comeback because, "Monster" was a cultural reset. Also their b-side "Diamond" from that album went diamond in my household. The choreography for "Naughty" is also very iconic. Hopefully they get another comeback because during stage performances they were even able to match their chemistry, and this unit seemed to portray a more sultry side to Red Velvet. Pristin V is another group that comes to mind but I guess that wasn't really a unit but the remaining members at the that point IIRC, but "Get It" is such a memorable song.

  4. I just thought I’d update, but Kevin went to a second Beyoncé concert, this time the one in LA with some famous gay fashion designer called Jeremy Scott? I also know Kevin said before he bought Beyoncé tickets for his whole family to go, so unless that concert already passed I’m assuming he will be going a third time as well?

  6. (long time lurker here) Yes, jiwoo was definitely a stand out to me. Her predebut photos to now indicate a few procedures as she already looks vastly different from high school. preshow photos pics on the show: i'm not too knowledgeable on procedures, but it definitely seems like something was done to her jaw to make it sharper. it looks way longer. imo the procedures aged her a bit and its why she got excessive hate for it, at least on the knetizen side of things.

  7. I would like to thank Barbie Rose for helping me place first place in this fashion show. Everyone did good! I was very impressed and inspired by the creativity and graphics of the other contestants. Thanks Cheese for having me return from my hiatus. Time for Barbie to go on vacay/back to hiatus with this cash prize.

  11. The two groups have a lot more subbed content than most JPOP groups which is nice, though yeah still hard to find things like fancams and radio shows, etc. Still working my way through them all. For Sho, there was this video where Ryuchell talked about their friendship He does seem to say things that seem a bit more inclusive, like during this trip at around the 2:55 mark he talked about how it felt like a date. It is nice to see idols not preface it with things like "If I was a girl it would feel like a date" so I'll always like seeing it. I sometimes think about Ren, though more just because of general flamboyancy and babygirlism. I didn't see that part where he talked about dating. I don't have much on the others in JO1 other than vibes, though there was this time with Takumi wearing a shirt: ____ On the topic of shirts, I came across this one for INI that Rihito wore: But yeah, wearing shirts may or may not mean anything. Still something to ponder. Fengfan doesn't shock me. I believe he said something about Hong Kong (which lost him some support from Chinese fans) so he seems to be decently versed about things going on in the world, more so than other idols. I wonder how much going to university has affect some of them, since quite a few members of both groups attended university and some graduated or near it.

  12. I would be interested to know which idols have taken Accutane. It's ROUGH on your skin while you're taking it (makes acne way worse at first, makes your skin so dry it's painful) but for some people it's the only thing that works. It's unlikely an idol would be able to promote while taking it given that idols get a lot of shit for having just a small breakout.

  13. I researched a bit on this acutane nose thing, because i was very sceptical from the first time I saw it on TikTok. I am no medical professional, so I can only give my two cents on what I read (and what I understood from that ). So as I understand, it is mostly a temporal change as accutane has an effect on how much oil the glands secrete, so from what I understand, the glands can shrink as the oil production/secretion decreases. The other thing is, that this doctor said, is that it can thin out your skin (???). Now this is the part that makes less sense to me, so there is a chance I misunderstood something. So like your nose can be big from the bones, and I guess more "fleshy" based on skin thickness - and bone structure can be modified by plastic surgeons, skin thickness can't. The article said to think of it as changeing a padded coat to a lighter jacket - the underlying structure will be more visible. From what I understand retinoids can result in the same change, which I would think more likely in K-pop idols case, compared to accutane. Nonetheless, this doctor/article said that this effect is most likely temporary. And why I was originally sceptical about this thing in the first place is: I had quite the bulbous nose when I was in highschool (I would say from anywhere 12-13 years to like my 20s). And now, at 25, my nose is kind of different. I would not say, it is an entirely different nose, as the bones did not change, the structure is almost identical, but it looks more defined / less bulbous on my face. Now, I have no explanation for this, I don't know if my nose shrinked or my face grew, but all in all it is less disturbing, and more "harmonious". Funny thing is, when I got into kpop, I was sure that I would like to have a nose job, but now I am happy, I never touched it, while it is not perfect, it looks pretty okay, and I think it suits me. This is why I am a bit sad for young ppl to have ps, because I feel like they don't give a chace for their features to develop properly, so like they will never know how their original nose would have looked like, if this makes sense.

  14. The reason your nose can get smaller on Accutane is because it shrinks the oil glands, and nose has the highest concentration of them. But unless your nose produces a shit ton of sebum, it won't affect your nose that much (or so I've heard). Also, as important as it is for idols to have good skin, I doubt they'd be put on Accutane/isotretinoin, unless they have severe acne, not to mention the long list of its side effects. But hey, it wouldn't be the most nonsensical thing in this industry lol

  15. Accutane Nose Shrinkage Not related to a K-pop idol, but relevant to the topic! In case you can’t open the link, I came across this Tik Tok video of a Podcaster claiming how his nose has shrunk (dramatically, I would say) due to his usage of accutane over the years. Accutane is a common prescription of acne in the West and I’m not familiar of its popularity in SK/Asia. Now, I’m not familiar with acne treatments and its effects, but if this claim is true, I think this can become an important consideration as to a change in an idol’s nose appearance. One of the main things about looking good on camera is having flawless skin and I wouldn’t be surprised if acne treatment is the main priority and that idols prioritize taking prescriptions that severely treats acne. And if this claim is true, I also wouldn’t be surprised if acne treatment side effects is *one of the reasons (as I understand silicon implants may need correction; modification; etc.) as to why idols go in for corrections for nasal implants/rhinoplasty. what do you all think? This could also potentially explain the minuscule changes that we see in idol’s noses! edit: my main takeaway from my post is that maybe acne treatment can be something we consider for change in appearance?

  16. This is a big jar of juice. Former national volleyball player Lee Dayoung posted this intimate photo of her and the volleyball legend Kim Yeonkyung on IG with the caption demanding Kim to apologize her or she would reveal Kim's secret. Lee continued accusing Kim of sexual harassment and bullying on her while they were teammates in Heungkuk Life Spider volleyball club. Lee Dayoung is such a messy person to say the least. One evening, she was rush to hospital due to suicide attempt. Insider from Heungkuk Life Spider revealed she had a big beef with the captain of the team Kim Yeonkyung. Kim scolded her in public multiple times. Following this, she was accused of bullying back when she was in boarding high school. After the school violence news broke, her ex-husband to be (they were about to divorce at the time) exposed that Lee was violent person, hitting him several times, and she cheated on him, dating a male model, after they got married for some months. Lee has been blacklisted in Korea. Kim Yeonkyung was immaculate neither. She started seeing Lee Dayoung while she still was in relationship with Nootsara, Thai player who had been her teammate when they played for the club Fenerbahce.

  25. I would be the last person to deny that NCT's music has been going downhill for the last years and that SM is in great need of fresh concepts and innovation for their boygroups but saying no one cares or is excited for Riize's debut is just a straight-up lie that only company stans are pushing right now. They wouldn't have gotten 1 million preorders for their debut album if there was no interest in them. Even if the interest for them was only from the preexisting fanbase of Shotaro and Sungchan (and it's not), that would still be interest. I wish Kpop stans would finally understand that them not being interested in a group or disliking a group because of personal agendas doesn't mean it's the same for everyone else. An opinion isn't a fact.

  26. Interesting, I never thought there would be a jo1/ini post here. I've been a fan of both groups since debut and I have a quite few takes regarding them. JO1: The member that it's likely to be part of the community is Ren. Months ago he said on a program that "He wanted to live with someone he trust, no matter if it was a man or woman". I have a hunch regarding Yonasho, mostly because he has always been supportive of male fans and also hanged out with Ryuchell. There was a quite interesting video of something Ryuchell said about Yonasho back when they debuted that it made me go (he was telling Yonasho always commented his posts with "how cute", inviting him to meals, etc) Ryuchell was married at that time though, so that's something to consider and also they had a friendship group from Okinawa. INI: I've been more updated with them since they're my ultimate fav jpop group and Fengfan definitely is interesting. He posted the next post on pride month: And also, some INI members went to a radio interview and talked about social issues, Fengfan talked about lgbtq issues and also gender issues. To be honest keeping up with the receipts it's difficult since most of the content is behind the paid wall (and jpop fans are very jealous and dont like to share paid content) and a lot of content also is not translated. But I bet they have more interesting to content that got lost and I don't remember .

  28. I know that they aren't technically Kpop idols, but since they are idols kind of created using a kpop system with Produce, does anyone have any thoughts on JO1 or INI? Both groups were formed through the Produce Japan shows as permanent groups, and I've gotten into them lately (mostly JO1 due to their cover of Super). Since they're still popular idols, I doubt we'd get anything major compared to major musicians in Japan (like Ayumi Hamasaki), but some things have been fun to check out. There was the time some members went on a gay radio station and tried to guess the most popular member among gay men. I'm waiting for the day this happens in Korea lol. They did have a photoshoot in a gay club apparently (not sure if it actually is but that naked man in the 2nd pic makes me think yes). But it is just a photoshoot. Their leader Sho is someone who seems supportive at least. At their recent concert he gave a fanboy a hug. They apparently have quite a few male fans, especially gay men (I guess Produce JP was popular in that demographic), so it could just be a Jiwoong situation, but in either case it is still nice to see male idols being affectionate to their male fans, since they could totally get by without doing so. There was this moment at 10:28 when they were bowling and he said "from the boyfriend's perspective" and quickly changed it to girlfriend. Lol I remember hearing "Kareshi" and taking a double take. One of the covers he's done recently was Elton John's "Your Song." He also seemed to be good friends with Ryuchell before they passed away this year. There are other moments and thoughts on the other members, but for now thank you for reading my thesis.

  30. Apparently they announced last minute that only the top two girls would be decided by fan votes and the rest would be chosen by the judges/company and they made it so that kvotes counted for 70% and then had an additional round of live voting that only koreans could participate in (despite the show having basically no buzz over there) which meant that the lineup was guaranteed to have the visual members that the kfans liked and than whatever the company wanted (which was other teenage visuals/dancers). Honestly it sounds like they would have been better off not doing a survival and just releasing a predebut show since they clearly had a vision from the beginning that did not match what the audience ended up seeing.

  31. His Veneers do not fit his mouth shape at all and look uncomfortable. They're way too big. it kinda gave him an overbite too. I understand K-pop is about perfection. But his snaggle tooth had charm. Apparently, Jiwoong trained at SM a bit before he debuted in INX. Which thank god he did because SM hates square and broad jaws and would've made him have a jaw shave.

  33. A facelift at the age of your late 10's/early 20's is insane to think about. Especially since a facelift is something you have to upkeep for the rest of your life. It's actually pretty sad. I never noticed his ears either.

  34. I remember someone requesting insight on Sung Hanbin's plastic surgery work, so here's my analysis. His appearance pre-Boys Planet and during Boys Planet are different. He lost weight from his dancing days to Boys Planet, so just keep that in mind. The shape of his ear is different, in the right picture it appears that he has a deformity known as the "pixie ear," which results from a face lift or neck lift. Since he's quite young, I would assume that this is from a face lift. I don't think he's had a jaw shave as his mandible angle pretty much looks the shame. I think he's had his cheekbones reduced significantly, so maybe that's the reason he got a facelift? I'm not so sure on why he got a facelift to be honest, but the pixie ear deformity is so striking to me. I think he's gotten a rhinoplasty, I mean, the projection of his nose and the shape of his nostrils is completely different. His nose was quite flat before. The distance from the base of his nose to the tip is completely different. Its sloped now. I also think he could have gotten a very mild lip lift, the distance between his nose and top lip is slightly smaller. Although, I'm not sure if him getting a nose job could give the illusion of such/affect the distance between his nose and lips? The first picture is quite low quality forgive me, but I also think he could have tweaked his eyes the slightest bit. They look more open, so perhaps he cut the outer corners. I'm somewhat unsure if he had his (double) eyelids toyed with but they do look bigger, or at the very least less hooded. It could be due to weight loss, since I experienced the same thing when I lost weight. https://twitter.com/kxxhxxqxx/status/1693724036055142445?s I think his work has settled and his filler has migrated/dissolved/whatever since Boys Planet since I've been noticing that he looks more like his old self recently. I like it honestly.

And as a church gay, I can spot my kind from a mile away. I had that church oppa's number from day one lol.
