I know we had talked about how angsty and serious Namjoon has been and how he keeps bringing up that relationships don't work out, just generally his whole vibe has been heartbroken and kinda sombre for a bit. While I know the person who replied to the tweet is mostly joking it does come off a bit weird that Namjoon deleted that many photos of him with others, if you look at it with the context of how he has been acting for the previous months.

As an Asian born and raised girl who got her nose done as a teen, I have to say its just really regular and common among even non-celebrities to get work done before becoming an adult. Some parents even set funds aside for ther teens to get work done. Many girls in my high school would come to school with a plastic tape over their nose which they used after a nose job. Cant speak for everyone obv but among the majority its just not that moral issue which westerners think it is cause there is just so much cultural difference in that regards (but unlike American teens parents allowing them to date, dating in high school could be a problem for many Asian kids, lol) For the most part kids dont rly grow up regretting getting a nose job either. I have heard things like "I wish I chose a better doctor or asked for another model" but never "I wish i didnt do a nose job". Cause sadly even as adults people dont magically embrace their insecurities. Most believe they need to have a straight bridge, upturned nose like a white girl.

Im not just talking about body proportions. Im also talking about the face. TBVH there’s literally no sense in saying uncanny in here when none of yall can objectively pinpoint what’s uncanny. You say Wonyoung is Uncanny and then on the other hand say that Karina is also uncanny when they’re literally polar opposites of like visual spectrum (karina has smaller eyes in comparison to kpop visuals, doesnt have a petite nose, etc), and people say her face shape is weird, but it literally isn’t weird for me LOL. Like i know she got that chin shaved, but it’s still on realms of being realistic considering her facial height isn’t even tall in the first place. And plenty of natives in my area have the same face shape (heart-ish face shape) with varying chins. U say some of these people with gaunt cheeks from buccal fat removal uncanny, then say the same for people with literally chubbiest cheeks (wonyoung winter). and then i stumble into “riize uncanny” like i saw people calling wonbin or that man i quoted as uncanny and i was like… how? Like is the criteria is “plastic surgery”, “SM”, or whoever K-netz praise as top visual? LMAO. im sorry but there’s no difference to me between Karina or Minji even if the latter is what people say “looks more natural” LOL. The concept of uncanniness is so abstract like atp it’s just a drag to whoever u wanna call it. in the first place “uncanny valley” isn’t a phenomenon about pretty damn people. Robots are SCIENTIFICALLY AND OBJECTIVELY uncanny valley even if it’s ugly.

One thing I find ironic about Aespa is how the Korean line is pushed as the visuals, but the foreign line looks the most natural. All of them have work, sure. But Winter and Karina can verge into uncanny (especially Karina). Ningning and Giselle look like more refined versions of their predebut selves.

im a gay man so im absolutely have no insight to offer here lol but even i always assumed karina would wear fitted sports bras (or in rare instances, binders) for performances, and padded bras for other appearances like red carpets. and at the airport, she'd obviously be wearing her own bras. like, it's not a difficult concept to understand... just because her chest looks different from day to day doesnt mean she "got implants", she wears different supportive clothing based on her schedule and the circumstances. im not saying its impossible that female idols can get implants (because some have), but it's not that easy to just "get" implants. and like you said, the implication that some people make that asian girls cant possibly be anything other than flat chested is just low key racist. >_>

People in this thread constantly overuse the term uncanny valley for people where that term doesn't really fit, it's nothing new. You'd think everyone looks like this.

I think a big part here is her eye makeup. Plus there's definitely a filter on this...but yes, Park Bom is obviously mentally & physically unwell and this manifests in her PS choices. I blame YG for not having better health resources for her.

Back then there was this internet craze of “this man” which was my first encounter with uncanny. Uncanny valley is more similar to eldritch/cosmic horror than an aesthetic tbh.

I said he's not gay...didn't say straight. But given his religious upbringing + being the only son of his family. I doubt he'd act seriously on any male attraction if he had the option to have a fulfilling relationship with a woman. If he knows he's gay I doubt he'd get a beard right now since as a korean celebrity he has the option to delay dating/marriage up to his 40s without issue. So either he's straight, bi but unlikely to be in serious relationships with men, or gay and so in denial that he thinks he's straight. Personally I feel the first option is the most likely but you can think whatever you want.

This may or may not be plastic surgery but I don't know where else to put it so... I mean technically this might be the result of a procedure so this thread seems the most fitting. aespa's Karina. I'm sorry if anyone feels uncomfortable about this, I don't mean to sexualize her in any way but this has been bothering me since black mamba era. Does anyone think she may be over stuffing her bra/going overboard with the padding or perhaps gotten a boob job? In the first gif from her 'MY, KARINA' predebut video, you can see that she doesn't fill out the cups of her dress. Her cleavage also isn't as visible in this video, but I'm not gonna dive in too much on that because that could be affected by the type of bra or how much support she's wearing. However, the second gif taken from a black mamba performance shows her looking extremely top heavy in comparison. It's especially noticeable in this outfit because unlike the first gif, her breasts now do not even fit inside the cups of her outfit anymore because of their bigger size, and instead have occupied spaces lower from the cups as well. For now though, I think she might just be going extreme on the padding since I feel like the transition of her cleavage to the fullness of her chest isn't as... smooth? Like her chest isn't completely part of her body but just attached there. This photo above showing her cleavage for example, reminds me of someone wearing a bra stuffed with foam that is slowly falling down... I mainly think it's padding because of how common it is in kpop too.Of course, I could be wrong though. Maybe she did get a boob job done but her chest is just positioned on the lower side, hence the look (nothing wrong with that either). I'd also find it a bit weird to compromise her stage outfit for that sort of extreme padding. It would make more sense if, you know, it had to be compromised because of her actual breasts – but hey, I'm not her stylist so I don't know what their priorities are lol. Or it could always be both boob job and padding. I honestly don't know. Either way, I think there are times when her chest definitely looks a bit too much and I sure hope they're not forcing her through that because it looks hella uncomfortable and definitely way more than just your average kpop padding, which is why I felt the need to write this post in the first place. To conclude, I'm generally unconvinced that this girl has the same body as the girl in the first gif and Taemin's 'Want' dance practice She wasn't flat chested before but there is definitely a drastic change. For reference, Want was released in 2019 so I doubt she would magically go up several cup sizes between that to shooting the my karina video and black mamba era to now. I'm pretty sure my girl is well past that age of having a growth spurt in that area overnight
