Not only is it unlikely for Hong Seokcheon to out anybody since he knows from experience how tough it is to be openly gay, Korea has very intense anti-defamation laws that allow people to sue over statements that are considered damaging to their reputation, even if said statements are true. Outing an idol could easily fall into that category & might result in serious legal repercussions. Apocryphally that's one of the reasons Dispatch has never revealed any gay dating scandals. Tbh I'm neutral about RPS and kinda enjoyed stumbling upon the unhinged takes those two would post since it reminded me of late 00s/early 10s tumblr where people posted absolutely anything with no fear, but it was an inevitability that being THAT horny on main would blow up in their faces. Not a matter of if, just a matter of when. ZB1 fandom is really odd-- a lot of zeroses seem to ship Haobin but at the same time don't want to get tainted with the RPSer stigma. You see people claiming that Hao and Hanbin are soulmates/destined/perfect matches/etc, very romantic sentiments, but they always emphasize that they only mean it in a platonic besties way!! Then you have people who want to hide all hints of ZB1's past queerness and downplay Haobin to avoid hatred/scandals, who end up tacitly homophobic in the process. The whole "Hao imitating Hanbin's mother dance is offensive" thing from a few days ago was a good example of the latent homophobia lurking in certain parts of ZB1 fandom. A fandom with a lot of growing pains, for sure. (As for me, I'm just here for Ricky )

I agree with all of this !! I'm on Twitter but mostly on the kr/japanese zeroses side bc I find that some i-fans are going too far. From what I have seen about Hanbin and Hao from that side (kr) is that they are very supportive people keeping it cute and all. I don't see a lot of homophobia but I kinda see it from the I-side on low-key which always results in fights all the time. I feel like some people reduce their moments based by their homophobia but at the same time some of them use them as their fantasy and go waaaaay too far and almost all the time it's nsfw. About the person that met HSC, I really doubt that he outed anyone to them considering his past I wouldn't think one second that he'd put someone through this. I think they misinterpreted or used HSC words to fit their narrative. Also what I really like about OH is that there's a difference in speculating about one sexuality and using concrete proofs to out someone and everyone here gets it. I hope I don't see this kind of situation here ! At the end I really hope that that mess doesn't reach the boys.

I always thought that Hanbin was very vocal about his feelings for Hao but Hao is lowkey the one that shows them more. If you cover the top half of her face (if you're on mobile, simply scroll the page so it's covered), the lower half of her mouth looks like two different people's. It's quite stark. In the first side-by-side, her face looks kind of... taut in the right one, almost like it was pulled or stretched back. Is it just a lot of Botox (plus filler?) that creates that effect? Sidetracking a bit; I remember the first time I saw an idol's face (j-hope, pics below) looking very tight, I didn't really know much about plastic surgery back then and I just kept thinking "Why does he look so weird? What happened? Why is his face pulled like that?? Why is no one talking about this??" lol

wonyoung's before after side by side comparison is kinda crazy. i hate when others say that because an idol is young, its impossible for them to undergo surgery.... even leeseo the 14-15yo has gotten some tweaks (though she was always pretty): im gonna say she got her inner and outer corners of her eyes cut, double eyelid deepening, nose implant, lip filler, cheek filler, botox to the mouth area, and either she got a mini v-line jaw procedure or like botox to the jaw cuz it looks completely different. i think she's happy with the results and she knows she's pretty.

So I've been thinking lately about the true proportion of folks in the K-pop boy group realm that are gay or some form thereof. I think there are some obvious advantages in Korean society for a gay person to become involved in the entertainment industry, and so I've long suspected that the percentage of gay people in the K-pop industry is quite a bit higher than the general population. I decided to sit down and quantify it using groups that I'm personally a fan of. For context, that's 65 groups included disbanded and inactive groups made up of 495 members total. I counted only the ones that I personally felt very confident that they were somewhere in the LGBT+ spectrum. I counted 80. That's 16% for only ones that's I'm quite confident about. I suspect the true proportion might be close to 20-25% For those that are interested, I'm putting the whole list spoilered below. It's too long otherwise. These are mostly not based on any evidence other than my own feelings. There are more in the industry that I believe are gay, but I'm not necessarily a fan of their group. I included former members with the groups I know them best for.

wow this thread used to be so active i could barely keep up...thought i'd post since i rarely do and this was an unexpected procedure i thought i'd never see oh my girl's yubin got her lips plumped! im a stan and i closely monitor the group's every schedule and activity so i immediately noticed. it doesnt help that her 2 fansites edit the hell out of her face but, the first (from left to right) was 230512 and the second was 230516, then the third/last was on 230527. i noticed immediately on that second day, and every fanpic thereafter, her lips and lower half of her face looked really diff. mind you, i look at omgeol everyday! and when i saw that her fillers were noticeable in the comeback teaser's then it lowkey revealed when they started shooting those pics lol since i could date them based on yubin's fansite pics and appearances an unedited iphone fanpic from 230711: and here are side by sides of her in 2023 before may vs during may-now: (left = pre may; right = may onward) ---------- more pics post filler in spoiler in case you still wanna see how she looks recently: i cant help but assume that the frequent use of filler by yooa and mimi (and minor use by arin) may have eased yubin into making the decision since (as far as i know) yubin has never gotten anything but praise for her visual since debut! especially in the past two years when she grew out her bangs and let go of the bob, she's been blooming visually! but in terms of like the "why?" since she def didnt need it and wasn't really ever talked down for her visuals, i feel like she may have just wanted a change for the comeback! His eyelids are def natural, especially since you can't surgically create triple eyelids (see the multiple folds when his eyes are slightly closed). My own double eyelids got thicker/puffy and more wrinkly like his with age (esp when I went from high school --> college). Agree with the usage of tape to make his natural eyelids less puffy (Shuhua mentions she does this too!). Also totally agree on the epicanthic folds getting cut, although I quite like it. It gave him his characteristic cat-eye look he is known for now.
