So I've been thinking lately about the true proportion of folks in the K-pop boy group realm that are gay or some form thereof. I think there are some obvious advantages in Korean society for a gay person to become involved in the entertainment industry, and so I've long suspected that the percentage of gay people in the K-pop industry is quite a bit higher than the general population. I decided to sit down and quantify it using groups that I'm personally a fan of. For context, that's 65 groups included disbanded and inactive groups made up of 495 members total. I counted only the ones that I personally felt very confident that they were somewhere in the LGBT+ spectrum. I counted 80. That's 16% for only ones that's I'm quite confident about. I suspect the true proportion might be close to 20-25% For those that are interested, I'm putting the whole list spoilered below. It's too long otherwise. These are mostly not based on any evidence other than my own feelings. There are more in the industry that I believe are gay, but I'm not necessarily a fan of their group. I included former members with the groups I know them best for.

For EXO my opinion have not changed.I still think that Sehun, Kyungsoo and Suho might be queers. I forgot to answer when someone talked about Sojin and Kyungsoo . Back in the days ( 2014 or 2015 I think) I remember when few fans thought they were dating back then and the receipts were that Sojin having painted nails with written I DO on it or that he was spotted with a women ( who could have been a manager as he was filming a movie at that time) with a pink shirt and Soojin had wore one months ago. To be honest at that time I couldn't believe someone would think they were dating just because of this? Idk since his debut Kyungsoo was clearly loved by the korean gay community and he does give queer vibes too. There's hasn't been any rumours since then and he has never show interest in women as far as I know. About Ateez, I do think that Seonghwa is queer, alongside with Hongjoong which I think there's a good possibility that he is pan. I still have my doubts on the others members as they as a group are very private. What I know is that they are so supportive and that's cool. Lastly, I don't think I'm the only veteran kpop stan that had the sparks back with Boys Planet/Zero Base One. Besides the obvious Hao and Hanbin, I'm keeping an eye on Taerae as he was a bit flamboyant in Boys planet but the more days passes the more he pings me so we'll see. Still the same opinion on Jiwoong. It's cool that he seems to have a lot of fanboys too! Also I'm gonna take one for the team and talk about Hao and Hanbin. Shoot me if you want but with all of the things happening before our eyes, all the moments clearly cut by wakeone, all the behind the scene, the love they share by describing each other's, also for the time korean fans share a lot of moments happening when it's not filmed or when the attention isn't on them( I'm talking fan meeting or even bts from Camp ZeroBaseOne) that are "crazy" for just two "coworkers" . I don't know but for me it's obvious the two have something for each others. Whether they acted on it I don't know but they are clearly aware of it. Their eyes don't lie

In the vast majority of cases, I think of them as gay, but that is more because gay is how I experience the world. Many of them may identify themselves as something else in the queer spectrum. I included Minsung (Former Topp Dogg) on my list, and he has characterized his own sexuality as asexual. What little study there has been asexuality has mostly found that they still lean one way or another even if only in terms of whom they find objectively more attractive, so I would assume that Minsung’s “lean” is towards men. I guess you could say that these are male idols that I’m confident “lean” towards men.

This is mostly a joke but does anyone else feel like something happened between Mark and Jaemin? First time I noticed it while he was promoting Brand New. I think it's a combination of weight + hairstyle + exercise + maybe padding + smart dressing

Hmm do you notice it in other recent pictures, too? I imagine he could just have shoulder padding in his suit and be wearing lifted heels, both of which might make his head seem smaller. Back when EXO was more active, I remember him tending to have relatively voluminous and (sometimes) round hair styles, which could maybe make someone's head seem larger?

It's unfortunate that the momentum this group has gained is now going down the drain.

I don’t understand their thought process behind their self sabotage. They were only one song famous, had a shaky fandom foundation, no solid Korean fan base to go to bat for them and no recognisability as individuals, yet they decided to throw everything away by biting the hand that fed them. The more information we get, the more I feel bad for their CEO and frustrated at the girls for having it relatively easy and messing it all up.

This is going to sound strange and don't take this the wrong way because I don't mean it in a negative way (I have a big head too lol) but has anyone noticed that recently Xiumin's head looks, I don't know, smaller? As to compared to his body? vs I remember seeing these photos and thinking they should've put Sehun and Chanyeol next to Ivanka (she has a very small head though, Koreans would love her proportions) I only started noticing head size because of Korean beauty standard but I don't really care about head size either way, small head or big head doesn't matter to me Styling? Weightloss in the face + shoulder exercises? Maturing of the face? Something's making me think his head looks smaller lol Sorry for this weird post.

i think he sometimes uses eyelid tape there was times when his eyelids don’t look that puffy i think the ‘issue’ is that he got rid of his epicanthic folds, so his eyes look unnatural

I'm not OP but here's a side-by-side comparison.

They dissolve partially with time but even if you go to your aesthetician to dissolve your filler, your lips are already deformed either way, especially if you've been filling your lips for a long time. In Yeonjun's case, even if he dissolves it all they will never look the same as before

Hi all, sorry for beating a dead horse but I've recently become a fan of Karina and I can't help but notice how much she's changed so much since Aespa's debut in 2020/2021. I know people talk about her entire transformation but I'm specifically wondering what she's had done since debut. When I look closer I don't see much difference in her individual features so it must have been very minor tweaks but her aura has changed completely. Best way I can describe it is that she transformed from more of a polarizing snake visual with wide-set eyes and a sharp v-line jaw and to a Barbie doll. I don't think it was just the blonde hair in Spicy because she has had the doll aura since Girls with the purple hair. Whatever she's had done makes her look gorgeous but it also got rid of most of her uniqueness. Now whenever I see recent pictures of her she looks like a bunch of different idols depending on her makeup and styling. I made a few before and after comparisons. Left is from 2021 and right is 2023. Sorry for the difference in quality, I tried to use Getty pictures to avoid editing of fansites and Korean photographers. Other pictures for comparison, not at the same angle/position (2021, 2022, 2023): Can someone give me the run-down on what she's had done since debut? I'm thinking: Inner eye corner surgery to lessen the space between her eyes Possibly a double eyelid surgery to make them larger Buccal fat removal Possible cheekbone shave too Rhinoplasty just to slim the nose cartilage Filler along the chin/jawline to soften it (compare the 2nd spoiler from 2021 to 2023) Also her eyebrows are now not as wide set as they previously were at debut which I figure may impact the harmony of her face as well.

Oh this is one for me. I think he's very obviously into men. He's a really affectionate person in general but his past moments with Wooyoung really convince me that he acts had a crush on him. San said that he actually had a lot of self-esteem issues which of course isn't an indicator in itself because it's not something I could just link to being lgbt, but some lgbt individuals do have self-esteem issues due to feeling different. I didn't say it was fanservice, I said it was sus. But regardless of Jimin and JK's intentions, BH put it in an ad for a reason. My point is that the members' affection for each other is genuine, but still often subject to editing and considered inclusion/exclusion of moments for the fans

My exact thoughts, just because someone isn't inclined to show a form of sexual attraction to someone on video doesn't mean that they are possibly asexual. I would think determining asexuality would be a lot more harder to decipher over bisexuality or homosexuality.
