This is going to sound strange and don't take this the wrong way because I don't mean it in a negative way (I have a big head too lol) but has anyone noticed that recently Xiumin's head looks, I don't know, smaller? As to compared to his body? vs I remember seeing these photos and thinking they should've put Sehun and Chanyeol next to Ivanka (she has a very small head though, Koreans would love her proportions) I only started noticing head size because of Korean beauty standard but I don't really care about head size either way, small head or big head doesn't matter to me Styling? Weightloss in the face + shoulder exercises? Maturing of the face? Something's making me think his head looks smaller lol Sorry for this weird post.2 points

Sorry correction, I meant Kyujin, not Jiwoo's thread on my previous post. But I'll take up on your offer on taking over the OPs for Sullyoon, Bae, Kyujin, and Haewon. Thank you so much!1 point

IMO, Seonghwa is gay. Almost all the members ping me except Jongho and Yeosang for some reason. (Yes, I know, I'm going to have to back up my opinions with reasons soon hehe) Ateez members also seem like men who wouldn't make a fuss over one's sexuality plus they're also kinda quiet. I think the only person whose friends we might have an idea of is Wooyoung. Oh and to answer the general consensus question, I think a number of us here have mentioned that Seonghwa pinged - I'm talking 2021 ish time, so that's wayyy back on the thread.1 point

Eunchan trained to be an idol for 7 years and almost debuted in a nugu group, Aweek (he was going by Ilkwon), too. I was surprised he said it directly in the show and they showed clips from the lives and stuff he was in. Jeonghyeon was also a dancer until he got injured and is now a hairdresser/stylist. At any rate, it just confirms what we already know about LGBT people being in the industry. I have a pretty good gaydar and I wouldn’t have clocked Changmin. He doesn’t even get gayer when in a group of only gay men. But after watching this clip the producers posted on their YT it makes a lot of sense. He only went on the dating show to appease his family who couldn't figure out why he didn't have a girlfriend and didn't seem interested in having one. Now, if this regular person went to the lengths of appearing on a Mnet dating show to stay closeted, what lengths would a celebrity whose coming out would be an international headline go to? We need to remember that being queer is also a sociopolitical identity that goes beyond who you are attracted to. There are major costs socially, politically, and economically that need to be weighed for anyone when choosing to come out or not. Like it's no coincidence that everyone appearing on that show has a job where they are essentially self-employed or in Eunchan's case, working in a professional field (branding and fashion retail) where a lot of prominent gay people are present. Because otherwise they could lose their job and a whole lot of other avenues to making a living. It's why it's so aggravating when people, like she who must not be named, act like there isn't a host of good reasons for someone to claim to be straight when their behavior and other statements suggest otherwise. It's just so obtuse lol.1 point

I agree with you so much on this. If all the contestants from 'His Man' would've been Kpop idols then most of them would pass off as straight. Eun Chan, Chan Gyu don't even come off as that gay they are pretty much similar to how most Kpop idols act. and ChangMin comes off as so straight that dude was a part of a straight dating show successfully lmao. Only Hyeon is very expressive and feminine but Jeonghyeon gives me very Sunoo or Soobin vibes. Most of them would be discussed on this thread and be passed of as Bi or straight.1 point
-
I feel like Soobin is very soft and slightly feminine, yea, but he's also obviously way more interested in interacting with guys and stares a bit. I also don't think there were dating rumors with Arin, were there? Which is usually a sign for me. The way Arin interacted with Soobin kind of reminded me of a girl with her gay bestie, ngl. Also that time where Hueningkai and Yoona guest starred with Soobin and Arin, Yoona gave me those "they're kinda gay" vibes. It's kind of like how Seungkwan would just never have dating rumors with a girl even though he acts friendly with them. Soobin is in a similar boat to me (though less so since he's conventionally handsome and thus more prone to being shipped in general). I was going to post this lol. Gotta love Hueningkai's sly eyes. I really don't know what to think about this guy. He's sort of 'odd' in a way that reminds me of TOP sometimes, but sweeter. I will say, I think it's more likely that Heuningkai would be attracted to women than Soobin, but he is a bit sus at times.1 point

On this, people thinking San is straight because he has a pretty masculine build and the way he performs is so funny because off-stage he is literally just a sensitive little queer guy. I won't even elaborate, he is definitely gay.1 point

I'm watching His Man and it struck me how if some of these guys got posted on this thread without the knowledge that they were gay, a lot of people would have been out here declaring half of them were just "soooooo obviously straight" lol. That's what I like about the show, there is a wide variety in personality type with Hyeon and Jeonghyeon being the most effeminate ones and even Jeonghyeon isn't that flamboyant, he's more cool and chic. There are a lot of idols that people here can not remotely imagine them not being interested in women, who act and carry themselves exactly like the guys on that show . There's even a former idol trainee on the show which hasn't been brought up here. It's funny how sometimes people get on their performative wokeness high horse about not judging people based on stereotypes, yet when a non-stereotypical idol gets brought up, there's no way in hell they aren't attracted to women. It's so hypocritical and clocks the people who really just don't know or engage in the queer community and don't see the breadth of the different types of queer man when it comes to personality. Finally someone else who feels me on Jacob not being straight.1 point

Joshua released a cover of a clearly gay song by an LGBT artist during Pride month. A win on all grounds.1 point

i agree. as a queer person myself who is in the closet, people close to me has some suspicions sometimes, but heteronormativity helps a lot in this case - you mention having a crush on someone from the opposite sex once and they will never think you could actually be gay. i can totally imagine idols using this too as an advantage: they say one word about an opposite sex actor they like or wanting to have kids in the future and people will refer to those forever to prove they can't be queer. the "wanting to have family" one is interesting by the way. i have many queer friends and most of them agreed to want to have children in the future, even if it isn't possible considering our current political system. it's not even something that proves anything, you can still WANT it, yet people use it so much as a receipt. which is i guess because of heteronormativity, once again.1 point

I don't think that Koreans consider Mingyu feminine because he's not even feminine by more rigid western standards unless he's put in particular (artificial) situations. He's just kinda...a completely average dude to me. Rather, this is Mingyu's idol image. And I'm fairly positive on that one because the same words keep being repeated since his debut: "housewife" and "strong/tall but feminine." These words are meant to condense and quickly explain what's supposed to be his charm point as an idol. The fact that he's "strong but feminine" is particularly telling to me as a weeb cause this is standard gap moe formula - the cuteness comes from a gap between strong appearance and unexpectedly soft personality. Another thing to note is that this housewife Mingyu stuff was insisted upon in the debut era, but has been used less over time which is how it usually goes with idols - more strict image during debut period for easier marketability, afterwards idols can be more themselves as they get better at being entertaining. They would often try to talk about how Mingyu cooks and clean, but then when they elaborate a bit, you see him cleaning a clean apartment for a video or hear that he cooks ramen from a package lmao. One time when fans asked if Mingyu has been cooking or cleaning lately, Jeonghan told them not to get fooled by an image lol. Idk, guy has a fashion sense I guess and is open to acting cute during varieties, I never saw much beyond that in him. Even his friends seem really straight lol. Even though Seventeen is my favorite group I'm super unsure about everyone, as much as I'm a passionate Seungkwan gay truther. But there's definitely an overlap in people who are tripping me up: Seungkwan, Jun and Joshua. Hoshi is a barsexual (not validt /jk).1 point

Gay: Seungkwan, Jun Bi: Hoshi, Coups Bi OR just straight and an ally: Vernon, Minghao Straight: Jeonghan, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Dino Most likely straight but I find them confusing: Joshua, Mingyu Actually I have time so I'll put my full thoughts under the spoiler lol1 point

Yeah, I feel the same way. I've moved on from BTS now but frankly all of them apart from possibly Taehyung and Yoongi seem straight to me, and even then I think both of them are bi rather than gay. I wouldn't be shocked at all if they all turn out to be straight. I don't really follow EXO these days (as...there isn't anything to follow lol) but I do still believe Suho is gay (purely because I still haven't seen anything to point me in the opposite direction) and Sehun is imo bi, but wouldn't be shocked if he was straight. The other members are all straight. With SVT, I have all the members firmly placed in different tiers now which are unlikely to change, but again wouldn't be shocked if they were all straight. In general over the years, I have experienced a sort of "disillusionment" with speculating which idols are gay, and frankly I feel quite embarrassed looking back at some of my old posts where I was young and foolish lol. I'm not attached to the idea of any idol being gay now, of course I still have thoughts about certain idols but I just shrug my shoulders and move on if it turns out I was wrong. I think I just now can't be bothered to get invested in anything, especially as none of these speculated idols are ever gonna come out and frankly South Korea still has a long long way to go before any celebrity coming-outs can safely happen.1 point

Since Taehyung has been mentioned recently. I will remind y’all about his LGBT consumption throughout years (starting from around 2016). This is not mean that I say he is definitely gay/ not straight. Just some food for thought:1 point
-
It's funny bc stan twitter thinks everyone in kpop is gay. Obviously there are those y/n posts or heteronormative posts but my experience, especially with male groups, is that stan twitter will think everyone is gay and there are plenty of tweets with a lot of interactions re: male idols being gay. Allegedly people pay her to spread rumors, talk about a whole new level of joblessness.1 point
-
Sorry for sounding rude but there are 2 pages of "which male idols do you actully think are straight'' just go to twitter and discuss it there1 point
-
This is what I think about Felix, Vernon, Namjoon and Yuta. If they're straight but strong allies, my conjecture is that they're close to someone who's lgbtq+ and who suffered from marginalisation. Although I believe all 4 are in the 'not straight' category.1 point

Seokmin is both disgustingly straight and weirdly bi. I myself have no idea how this works, but ugh let's say he is very comfortable with some things Hoshi does to him, and doesn't even question. Maybe he doesn't realize? Also since you said Mingyu and Hoshi I remembered a sometime? Where svt members insisted on hiding them, idk the reason behind it, but it was an odd situation that's why I remember. Jeonghan covered the camera like most of those moments. It was from this VLIVE I Remember in full svt members literally made conscious effort to not show them, it was something I always found odd, but idk the reason they did that to this day. Maybe users here can comment on it, BCS I'm a lazy person, I couldn't find the full vlive...1 point
