  1. There's no way that Taennie is a PR relationship, people are acting so unserious about it. Nothing about it says PR relationship. They've been caught both alone and with their staff together. They gained nothing from this. Seems like wishful thinking on a lot of people's parts because people were so dead set on one thing about V (I always thought he's go for anyone he likes, regardless of sex/gender) that they convinced themselves it is true. Not to mention that his real life shippers, like most real life shippers, are fucking delusional and toxic.

  2. if you're talking about that pic of silhouettes kissing in front of a window then that was found to be a couple that was already posted on either douyin or weibo so it wasn't them on bearding, i honestly doubt it. kpop idols aren't even supposed to date publicly anyway so what would they get out of doing it? most of the gay ones can just stay single in the public eye their entire career and most people won't bat an eye or actually investigate why that is seriously

  3. I'm kinda over this whole discourse. everyone always repeats the same points and it all boils down to your idol oppa or unnie is not in a PR het relationship because not being in a public relationship is literally a part of their job vs BUT I WANT TO BELIEVE! Like I just find it so interesting how the argument is never that maybe some idol is closeted and wants to appear straight to his friends, family or maybe even to himself, the argument is always about the Management pulling strings Like the idea that somebody's oppar could for real be dating a woman cause he wants to believe that he can be attracted to women even though he's gay is still not appealing enough cause then the relationship is real and oppar is touching some nasty girl's nether regions. And IF PR relationships among idols exist, and that's a big if, still the number of gay men dating women for real would be faaaar greater and so there would be no justification to immediately jump to the Management doing PR narrative.

  4. not directly about taehyung but what queer celebrities go through in the entertainment industry and what they decide to do about their persona is more complex than what many of us might believe, i remember kate winslet talked about how some of her friends are queer but will never say it publicly and one would think since hollywood is more accepting of queer people, those men wouldnt lose their career so there's no reason for closeted hollywood celebrities existence but there's many factors that come into play maybe them being gay would have an impact depending on how they were marketed, two artists can be very succesful and famous and yet, a news like that would impact differently in their career, maybe it's a personal decision, maybe they want to make it clear they're not lgbt so there is no room for speculation or maybe they think it's convenient for their popularity, there's so many reasons, not every queer celebrity will do the same and just not date anyone

  5. Okay then, I don't believe Taehyung is faking romantic midnight strolls through Paris with Jennie when a random stalker low-level pap catches them to fool his family. Is that better?

Yoongi's reaction to Park Shin Hye brother's guitar solo Interacting with a fanboy in Singapore He was also asked on Vogue Japan what kind of people he found attractive without specifying gender and he replied 'positive and spontaneous'. Vogue Japan photos. He always emphasizes that he choses clothes he wants to wear.

  8. I dont think that is what the user above tried to say. We do need to separate two conversations 1) Yes there are guys that beard ( unfortunately even in the West this is normal) 2) fans using fake PR relationship and keep bringing taennie up as evidence. One can and should discuss both topics separately and not be delusional to use the latter to make a point. All and all, both of you and I are the saying the same thing. TAENNIE IS REAL PEOPLE.

  9. Exactly! There are so many reasons why people hide it. Everyone is different and people's circumstances are different. I still find it hard to come out to people even if I think they will be supportive.

  10. LOL my intuition on both is that Lisa a lesbian and Taeyong is gay

  11. The Taennie debate is the same thing that happened when Momo and Heechul were dating. People had it in their heads about who they wanted Heechul to be when he was dating Momo in reality. Just let it go. Not everything is a conspiracy theory.

  12. Well there are gay celebrities who are in bearded marriages but they're much older. (and it's not a requirement, some 40+ male celebs have been single forever and nobody really cares: Kim Jongkook, Gong Yoo...) Taehyung could be bi or gay, it would still be true that he's dating Jennie.

  16. good pick on the brows, they're definitely styled closer together and more feathery at the top! hair styling plays a role as well imo - the wispy bangs between her brows lessens the visual distance between her eyes and softens her features significantly. i do think things may have been revised surgically, but its important to not also overlook the massive difference styling can make on someone's overall looks

  17. Hi all, sorry for beating a dead horse but I've recently become a fan of Karina and I can't help but notice how much she's changed so much since Aespa's debut in 2020/2021. I know people talk about her entire transformation but I'm specifically wondering what she's had done since debut. When I look closer I don't see much difference in her individual features so it must have been very minor tweaks but her aura has changed completely. Best way I can describe it is that she transformed from more of a polarizing snake visual with wide-set eyes and a sharp v-line jaw and to a Barbie doll. I don't think it was just the blonde hair in Spicy because she has had the doll aura since Girls with the purple hair. Whatever she's had done makes her look gorgeous but it also got rid of most of her uniqueness. Now whenever I see recent pictures of her she looks like a bunch of different idols depending on her makeup and styling. I made a few before and after comparisons. Left is from 2021 and right is 2023. Sorry for the difference in quality, I tried to use Getty pictures to avoid editing of fansites and Korean photographers. Other pictures for comparison, not at the same angle/position (2021, 2022, 2023): Can someone give me the run-down on what she's had done since debut? I'm thinking: Inner eye corner surgery to lessen the space between her eyes Possibly a double eyelid surgery to make them larger Buccal fat removal Possible cheekbone shave too Rhinoplasty just to slim the nose cartilage Filler along the chin/jawline to soften it (compare the 2nd spoiler from 2021 to 2023) Also her eyebrows are now not as wide set as they previously were at debut which I figure may impact the harmony of her face as well.

  19. all the stuff i've found about celebrities in my country has kinda opened my eyes to this kind of stuff, its not like you have to act like a larry or something but bearding is common, some male celebrities get married and have families despite being gay and you wouldnt even guess it!!

  20. KARA’s Kang Jiyoung and Highlight’s Lee Gikwang have been confirmed to star in an upcoming drama! Kang Jiyoung and Lee Gikwang are set to lead “I Kill You” (working title), an action drama that follows the story of Sun Woo, a former Taekwondo hopeful who appears in the media on behalf of chaebol Ji Yeon, who eerily resembles Sun Woo and gets accused of being the main culprit of a drunk hit-and-run accident. “I Kill You” will be the first-ever drama by director Yoo Ha, who helmed the films “Once Upon a Time in High School,” “A Dirty Carnival,” “A Frozen Flower,” “Gangnam Blues,” “Pipeline,” and more. Kang Ji Young will take on a double role as Sun Woo, a former Taekwondo prospect who’s born into a poor family, and Ji Yeon, a third generation chaebol. Lee Gikwang stars as Ji Yeon’s half-brother Ho Joong, who feels inferior to her but aims to become their family’s heir. Along with their casting announcement, “I Kill You” unveiled photos of director Yoo Ha, a master of the action genre, and rising action stars Kang Jiyoung and Lee Gikwang on set and at their first script reading. Following the first “I Kill You” filming last month, Kang Jiyoung shared, “Action is not easy, but the filming set atmosphere is fun and I’m working diligently and enjoyably, so I ask for lots of interest and anticipation.” Lee Gikwang added, “For the first time, I have a lot of scenes using my body and I appear as a villain, and I’m filming while diligently studying the script and focusing on martial arts practice, so I ask for lots of interest and anticipation.” Source: Soompi

  22. 4th gen bg songs give me hives, I really don't vibe with them. 4th gen gg are much more pleasant to listen to. I also think you can see that opinion somewhat reflected in the general public. Bg's hit records and stuff through fandom power (which is a whole other conversation) but gg songs generally go viral much more, at least from what I see.

  31. Tbh I stopped paying attention to the Wakeonez when all the g-trainees got kicked & Woongmin went back into the basement so I'm only regurgitating other people's comments, but I have seen people claim that Park Hanbin is being "deyassified" in the recent W1 posts. I hope that's not the case and he's allowed to be his authentic self because he was very charming on BP. Regardless, I still think Woongki being femme/his history played a big part in them (re)abandoning him, because he's demonstrated repeatedly that he can adapt to darker concepts, like Supercharger or TO1's Son of Beast. And W1's track record is so bad lmao dungeoning/kicking out one girlypop trainee is coincidence, but six is an unmistakable pattern. Re the g-trainees, Haruto said in May he'd been with WakeOne for a year and a half which would put his join date at around January 2022, pretty early for BP. It's totally possible WakeOne only brought him on for temporary clout but it doesn't sound like he realized it

  32. Cha Woongki's artist contract has been terminated and he's left WakeOne Not clear whether he chose to end it or they did. Either way, it's a shitshow of a company and it never treated him well, for reasons we all know, but I'm sure this is still a scary place to be in. Wishing the best for him because he's so talented and such a sweetheart WakeOne's methodical dungeoning/expulsion of all its in-house femmes (Chihoon, Minsu, Woongki, Seongmin, Anthonny, Haruto) makes me curious about what they really think of Haobin behind the scenes. Does WakeOne leadership seethe every time Hanbin and Hao do something exorbitantly fruity? Obviously if you're an actual WakeOne trainee/artist (vs. Hanbin & Hao who are temporary loans) you better masc it up or you know what will happen.

  33. For me, the thing that looks really off is the jaw shave+ veneers or corner lip surgery +veneers. Like that just makes it look like they have too many teeth when they smile which really freaks me out. But other surgeries even of they’re bad are still tolerable.

  35. Seeing idols in the west makes me realise how plastic and uncanny valley they look. Look at the bald asian guy behind him, he looks like he could be more attractive. Especially in the gif in the below article: https://www.pannchoa.com/2023/06/enter-talk-jaehyun-seriously-looks-so.html?m=1 He, Jungkook and Cha Eun Woo are praised as being natural but I no longer see. How come only the female idols get dragged for it, it pev’s me to no end that he looks this bad but women have to be beyond perfect whilst still getting called plastic monster. Does anyone have photos of Jungkook and Eunwoo like this where it’s obvious they’ve got stuff done? Because this pic made my delulu cousin believe it was photoshopped to make him look bad and I want to snap her out of always elivating men. The most infuriating thing is it’s women dragging women but sheilding men, I’m asian but I find westerners do this too. Sorry rant /over/

  36. i remember i few years ago i used to be obsessed with leslie cheung and while watching his interviews and seeing his pictures i thought of how similar he and taehyung were, so it was funny how years later taehyung started posting about him on his social media because they do have many similarities, that and other stuff taehyung has done that has already been said countless times on this thread made me believe he is bi, i dont know why gay and straight are the only options for some people, even in queer spaces, there is a huge bi erasure cause when people started talking about leslie after taehyung posted about him a lot of queer fans referred to him as a gay man when he was actually bi so fans reactions after the dating news were expected because they have always ignored the fact that he has moments where he showed his interest in women and that doesnt change the fact that he could be queer, it doesnt erase it at all my limited knowledge of the entertainment industry has shown me how a lot, a lot of celebrities are queer even the ones people believe are straight, this happens a lot in hollywood, despite the industry being more inclusive compared to koreas, there is a lot of celebrities that are queer and will never say it for many reasons, if people knew how many of their favs are queer the industry will crumble, they are just not prepared for that, its funny when some homophobic people think there's like two queer idols cause im pretty sure is the other way around

  37. Regardless of your feelings about the rest of the movie, the scene Taehyung referenced was specifically the one where the dad shows support for his son who just had his heart broken by a man, so I do think that is a reasonable connection for a closeted queer man to have even if the western LGBTQ community get the ick -- and I know CMBYN was really big in Korea, but how many other explicitly gay movies are? (And to nitpick the screenplay was written by a gay man)
    1 point
  38. I don’t really understand what the issue is about changing your mind from thinking someone was gay to thinking they’re bi? opinions can change the more context you get about a situation
    1 point
  39. I don't think a majority of people on the thread thought Tae was gay. Some did sure but some also think bi/pan. I also don't think you can use one instance to say you don't ever know. After all, some idols are as out as they possibly can be ( Key, Jo Kwon etc) so I think it is fair to be certain. The same thing has happened with Hollywood actors. The different is, more of them will actually come out. Also, dating Jennie doesn't mean Tae is straight. Some fans ignore genuine reasons people think he is part of the community and act like it is all delusional shippers which isn't the case. It's also weird to me when people acknowledge that idols aren't always honest but act like an idol saying they are straight means they are, like there aren't a million reasons why they can't come out.
