  1. the way some (most) of the comments really seem to believe that posting unedited photos of idols equals to hating and bashing them ((: and they have the nerve to call whoever posts unedited idol pics weird for doing so and not just believing idols are a different species of 100% perfect humans.... where do we go from here? this is kinda embarrassing and sad at the same time

  2. lots of people interested, but nothing yet... how does one make a new thread? lmao

  3. Reading those replies made me so sad. Like we know everything is edited to perfection in kpop, but seeing people think that that's not the case in honestly concerning. Like how far you have to be in denial that you would even consider that 5th comment Karina pic to not be edited. My faves get edited, your faves get edited. It's just a thing everyone should be aware. Idols are good looking people but they are not perfect porcelain ai-dolls. I'm personally never really connected to Winter's visuals but in the un-edited waving picture i think she looks so adorable and i see the charm. (in the other picture she looks way too skinny tho). Usually when i see fan-taken pics by non-fansites i find idols way more attractive than in fansite pics or overly edited journalist, concept pics etc.

  5. Hi, I haven't been here for a while. I am here to share feedback about the way threads are moved on this forum. *** Forums similar to OneHallyu have opened (sub)sections dedicated to discussion. See examples: KPOPSource; Hallyu+; Soompi; allkpop. I can't seem to understand a reason for not wanting to have one here, but I still think it would be nice to have one. I say it for the following reasons. The topics for some of the discussions related to Korean Entertainment are usually moved to Random, which is a section that allows for every other topic that may or may not be related at all to Korean Entertainment. For example: you could open a topic on asking people to make predictions for whom might win at the Melon Music Awards (see here) and have that sit next to a topic, for example, about what you cannot stand about your country; see here. Moreover, in this particular case, the topic for the Melon Music Awards was originally posted in Celebrity News and Gossip. The topic itself had given a link to the source from which the information was drawn. It was specifically intended to be used as a space for discussion, and yet it was moved to Random. However, threads that ask about if you remember a song (see here, for example) can be allowed to be kept in Music, alongside threads that contain more recent music content, but somehow would apply differently for threads that are not music-related, such as the example that I gave in 1. I understand there is a need to not "clutter" a section with threads that are considered to be updates or news with threads that are not considered as such. However, those threads might not need to be deferred to a section like Random. Instead, like the first example I gave, it could have made (more) sense to leave them as they were in the section where they were originally posted. (Newer) users might not immediately connect that Random is a space where those type of threads would be moved; and what was said about that was echoed similarly in 2020 by @satoori. For the example I gave in 1, because the thread was moved to Random, any posts made thereafter (the first three posts) were not counted towards a user's overall post count. So that means that if it had been left in Celebrity News & Gossip, every post in that thread would have counted, and not just the first three, especially if any user had wanted that; because moving it to Random would've stifled them from being able to do so. It is for those reasons that I still feel an additional section on this forum is needed.

  6. Does anyone have unedited (legitimately) and non-airbrushed photos of idols, actors or celebrities (Korean, Japanese or even from the West)? I recently found this article without any interference and the 3rd photo (Winter) and Ningning (1st photo) don’t look like them at all, Karina looks uncanny valley: https://www.pannchoa.com/2023/06/enter-talk-seeing-aespas-pictures-you.html?m=1 The replies then go on to post extremely edited/ airbrushed photos. Side note: Winter looks way too skinny.

  7. This whole time I worried about his health so much. I've had someone in my life go through extreme weight loss all of a sudden without changing anything nor trying to lose weight and it turned out they had stage four cancer. I've always been worried about something like that happening to people around me since then. It was a huge shock. The person went from looking great to looking very slim but still good, to looking so sickly and gaunt. I have been worried about his overall health since he started losing weight rapidly too. I'm so glad he went to the doctor. Whatever the reason is, I just want him well.

  9. Im Young Woong has built an empire of ajumma fans that is surpassing any K-Pop fandom Article: "The rich mothers of K-Pop that make up Im Young Woong's fanbase" fans in their fifties listen to more music than teens Source: Money Today via Naver [+153, -35] I'm so sick and tired of trot! Enough's enough. There's no difference between idols and their hook songs and trots. [+55, -7] I'm not an Im Young Woong anti but I'm sick of seeing him on the Melon charts. I feel like I need to switch over to Apple Music. [+46, -5] The culture of music is changing with the times. The elderly are learning to enjoy their retirement by listening to music and healing. Invest in yourself. Life is short. [+56, -22] He's constantly in the Melon top 100 so I just canceled my subscription [+23, -1] I feel like there's way too much trot shows now... it's actually turning me off from the singers. [+28, -11] I quit Melon because of all the Im Young Woong songs in the top 100. I'm so sick and tired of him. [+23, -7] I left Melon because of this guy. If you play the top 100, it's all his songs. I'd understand two or three being up there but his ajumma fans have every single one of his stupid songs lined up there, ugh. I started making my own playlists and deleting all of his songs. His ajumma fans are ruining it for the rest of us and it's actually making me petty enough to refuse to listen to his songs no matter what. [+17, -1] I'm honestly a bit amazed that he's gotten this big ㅎㅎ [+15, -5] Please don't try and link trot to K-Pop [+19, -10] I'm in my forties and I like Im Young Woong. He's good at ballads and drama OSTs too. His albums have a lot of different genres... He was the #1 favorite singer in the Gallup poll of forties last year. [+33, -25] Im Young Woong's fanclub reminds me of the JMS cult. They treat him like a god and have no problem crushing any other artist in his way and attacking their fandoms. They seriously look possessed with how easily they'll attack anyone who's against him. [+8, -0] His ajummas are in their fifties which means they were the start of the early days of fandom culture. Now they have the money and time to back it all up. [+23, -17] His fandom feels like a mental illness [+8, -2] His fans aren't true fans. They'll take his articles and spam them with thousands of comments... They'll trash all of the music charts by purposely lining up all his songs on them. This can't be what real fandom culture is... How can they be so inconsiderate to everyone else? http://netizenbuzz.blogspot.com/2023/06/im-young-woong-has-built-empire-of.html

  19. I agree. I also don’t really understand it, because Chan often mentions that his nose is too big and he doesn’t like it. I would assume he wants to get it smaller then…
    1 point
  20. As for ZB1, in my opinion, the members that got a nose job are: Jiwoong, Zhanghao, Hanbin, Matthew, Taerae, Ricky, Gyuvin, Gunwook, Yujin. wait, that’s all the members I kinda love that most of their noses are different, that’s what you get when your group members are from different companies lol. When I look at Yujin I just see that his nose is not natural, same like Gyuvin, they look more far from the lips than they are supposed to. Especially looking from the side, but I cannot find any picture of Yujin from the side profile now.

  21. I think it’s possible since quite a few celebrities have gotten their noses tweaked at age 14 like Bella Hadid or even younger. Eunchae from Le Sserafim also debuted at 15 and had a nose job before debut, so she was no older than 15.

  22. Kpoprocedure on Instagram has a good summary of his cosmetic changes, but you can see in the predebut pictures I linked above that his nose was a little flatter and down-turned when he was a trainee. I didn't have time to find pictures that matched the angle of those predebut pictures, but if you just search for pictures of him online, you'll see that he doesn't have the down-turned, slightly hooked nose anymore. His nose bridge is always straight now or slightly hooked if he's smiling. I think his first nose job (see the above 2018 pictures) was decent. It gave him a straighter nose bridge and a little more height, but it wasn't noticeably "plastic" unless you knew what his nose looked like before. I don't think he did anything to decrease the width of his nose before debuting. Kpoprocedure thinks he got an alarplasty a couple years after debuting to bring in his nostrils and make the base of his nose slimmer, though I think if he got one, it's subtle enough that I have a hard time being certain. His nose is definitely bigger and wider than the average kpop idol and Bang Chan definitely mentions it as an insecurity, but to me, it was refreshing to see a guy who was less of a delicate flower-boy type. I personally think JB from Got7, Taecyeon, and 2020 Chan are some of the most attractive male faces because they tend to have more masculine features like wider noses, a stronger jawline, and smaller and more hooded eyes.

  31. It's so odd how some people on here pretend to be clued up about LGBT rights but then act like an idol wouldn't have myriad reasons to remain closeted. Also, the fact that some people thought Taehyung was gay and now think he is bi isn't demeaning to bi people. Context matters. People dismissing any reason for thinking he is part of the community(the CMBYN scene, obscure LGBT media etc) because of Jennie are the ones acting like bisexuality doesn't exist. No one is saying being part of the community means you know everything but it is true that there are certain things that LGBT people notice that others don't. That's not saying we can never be wrong. Obviously people know their.own sexuality more than anyone but knowing and admitting it are two very different things. You have to be living under a rock to not realise there are so many reasons why people don't come out. It happens in Hollywood which is comparatively progressive. It's not just people's careers either. You have no idea what their family are like. Or friends etc. It's a fact that LGBT idols exist. It's also a fact that the chances of them coming out are slim to none. It's also a fact that some fans act like they are accepting but lose their sh*t if you imply an idol they like could be LGBT. They act like it's so unlikely and rare. It's frustrating.

  33. These fairy tales originated during a historical period marked by the subjugation of black people as slaves and their overall marginalization. It is vital to contextualize these stories and analyze the underlying messages they convey. The right-wing political machinery has a track record of deliberately manufacturing cultural grievances, exemplifying this pattern. They often amplify insignificant matters to provoke fear and division within society. Recognizing this dangerous tactic is crucial for fostering awareness. The controversy surrounding a Hispanic woman portraying Snow White is unfounded and absurd. It is essential to remember that Snow White is a fictional character, and the casting of a Hispanic actress in the role does not compromise the story. Certain individuals are truly revealing their true colors on here. You have the option to not watch or support Disney!

  37. Thank you? I think the thread deserves thought, the gays deserve real talk and content. I have been sent by GodJihyo, Taengsus, Sicasus and Hwasa's thighs into the world.LOL I don't want to be a party pooper though. Not sure I'm understanding what you're getting at but the scandal hasn't produced any lasting problems. Fans pretend it never happened and it's almost never discussed and the media largely moved on from the topic, probably due to influence from W@ng Sic0ng. The problem wasn't she was an idol supposedly dating, it's who. W@ng Sic0ng is another level of rich, SK chaebols are paupers compared to him but he is proof that money can't buy class. He has a pretty bad reputation, the type no woman who wants to have a good career in China (or elsewhere) and a future marriage to a good family would ever want association with. W@ng Sic0ng aside, there's a good measure of content showing she likes girls to some degree, how much remains to be seen. Pristin "hiatus" is a company decision and was going on well before her scandal so it's unrelated. This might be sort of OT but also relevant to the sexuality talk... Twice is in no way following any SNSD "recipe", not anymore than any other girl group that came after them. They might have 9 members but none of them are proxies for SNSD members. You can find similarities but no more than you would find with any random girl group. In fact the only confirmed and obvious proxy was Jeongyeon being an f(x) Amber avatar during LOA era, her look was meant to mimic Amber in an effort to reel in fangirls. I've used SNSD members as sexuality barometers because they're iconic enough to have become sexuality "archetypes". If you describe someone as a Tiffany or Sooyoung or Taeyeon, most will have a good idea of what you mean. But that's were relating SNSD and Twice members ends; different people, different personalities and different relationships between members. Both groups existing (in their prime) in vastly different eras for girl groups and Kpop. I can say Twice doesn't have a Tiffany, Jeongyeon is a Sooyoung type straight, Tzuyu is more of a Seohyun type straight; but this is confined to key sexuality markers and not their personalities or experiences. TLDR Twice is Twice; SNSD is SNSD. Using SNSD members as sexuality guides is a tool to make sexuality talk more understandable. To end this on a high note, another addition to the Mina stares at women's boobs bodies collection...
