I genuinely don't think so. It's because of groups/artists like SNSD, 2NE1, Bi Rain, etc.. during that time, that era, that period, that kpop is how it is currently. I don't think people truly understand how the influence of these groups carried over to their faves today and became the reason why their faves approach singing, dancing, entertaining, etc.. the way they do. See persons try to white out these older groups or artists but seriously ask yourselves would your fave be the way they are today or would their music sound the same without those who came before them? Would they have the guts to try to push barriers or boundaries without having seen those who did and successfully executed it? What we see in kpop is alot of building upon. This generation has added stuff such as more adlibs/backing vocals/harmonies (which I believe was heavily influenced by Ailee) in their songs..that's just one example. This is why we're able to make inferences and say "Oh? this reminds me of f(x)..oh? this reminds me of a mix between da da da" because of those who came before and shined in their time. I think people tend to forget too that during SNSD's era.. idols got so much shit. E.g. It's only now recently that actors/actresses see "idol groups" favorably... let's also throw it back to how when a member from an idol group hit success they would try their best to distance themselves from that 'idol' title -COUGH COUGH- JAY PARK, COUGH COUGH ZICO.. this was actually one of the reasons I respected RM and Suga so much because I remember the first interview I watched of them was actually the same bfree interview (i was following this black girl who was a teacher in seoul she went to the event and she had actually uploaded and subbed it..happy seoul? something seoul was her name) and even though they were catching shit, they didn't toss off or try to distance themselves from the title... anyway Im digressing

The people who are responding negatively to this are part of the problem. They don't care about the artists being mistreated. If their supply of daydreams and serotonin idols give is interrupted/stopped, they would rather have their bias enslaved than treated like human beings.

It’s an app where you can receive text message updates from artists, and also send messages to the artists which they sometimes respond too. I think there’s a couple apps like it but Bubble is specifically for SM artists. Its a subscription based thing where you pay about $8 per person you are subscribed too per month. Some artists message almost every day, others only message once a month because there’s this condition where if an artist doesn’t message at all in a month you get a refund (which is a big money loss for an artist). I know Joy from Red Velvet and a few other SM artists got roasted in the past because they will literally only send a message the day before the deadline and fans complained they treat it like a cash grab. I guess you could also say it’s kind of like the new version of a fan cafe?

Wonder Girls (Irony): No. Their follow-up (Tell Me) might save them and it'd be a miracle. Kara (Break It): Nope. 'Rock U' and 'Pretty Girl' wouldn't be able to save them. They'd be lucky to make it to 'Wanna' and 'Mister'. T-Ara (Lies): Their debut would bomb (like it had), but 'Bo Peep Bo Peep' would save them. 2NE1 (Fire): Yes. Straight out of the gate, they're fine. 4Minute (Hot Issue): Like T-ara, the debut song would bomb, but their follow-up would save them. Honestly, the most shakey 2nd gen group would be Kara. After School, Girl's Day, Secret, and Sistar might have a little difficulty with their debuts, but they'd find their footing at least by their 3rd single. Even (surprisingly) Rainbow would. I think 'A', 'Mach', 'Come to Me', and 'Sweet Dreams' would chart better now than they did then.

Many people are saying the same. That the story has potential but it's drowned by a bad script and bad acting from the leads. For now I'm waiting for the full season to be released to decide if I'll watch it or not. Knowing Sam Levinson, the really crazy stuff is yet to come. Actually he's been acting since he was a kid so I'm not surprised. He played young Wolverine in the first of the Wolverine prequel movies.

yup and you can already feel that it no longer feels like the same as before before when groups used to hit a huge number of sales, you can see their popularity everywhere but tbh right now every group holds a record for 1 month and it doesn't feel that great anymore i don't know why, maybe kpop gor too saturated. i really can't explain the reason

Part of the huge bump for most of these groups honestly is bulk buys of albums being bought to juice the numbers then thrown in the trash or left sitting in warehouses un-collected.
